I was considering to keep quiet on this GB's title but seeing the interest you guys are showing I decided to say what I have to say:

Reggiane was an aircraft manufacturer, like FIAT or Macchi, the correct name for the Royal Italian Airforce is "Regia Aeronautica".
So if, like I understood from your posts, this build is about the Italian Airforce in WW2 the correct name should be "Regia Aeronautica GB".

Sorry to burst in this thread to play teacher, but I feel I had to at least tell you.

Who knows, maybe If I complete some of the models I have scheduled I might join this GB ... that is if you still want me.

Hey I am still way to sick to be posting as I sit here enjoying my milkshake and perscription Narcotics?  I must say I do not see the alure with drugs!  I like to be in control of my  whatevers too much to be a good drug user and drinker I guess But I am buzzing away now!

cOULDN'T PASS THIS ONE UP!   Avus er Klaus! It was not supposed to be Regia Aeronauica ! It was  meant to be Reggae aero nauts! Man!  Ja see we pass the douche on the left hand sidw and fell the rythm of Ja Bongos!  That carribean sound that goes so ofteh with de rum man!

Guy thanks for posting the link on the SM 79 footage. Really cool stuff. There were several cool videos. Great stuff!

Aaron buddy LMAO! I know exactly how you are feeling right now. Lost all 8 of my front upper teeth in an accident. One whole summer every other week four hours in the chair at a time! 8 steel post implanted in my upper jaw with crowns. I was out there on pain meds all summer. I do'nt underdstand either why people enjoy the feeling of your head floating on your shoulders. Hang in there buddy it is all worth it in the end when you can finally bite into a big burger agian without worring about swallowing your tempararies!

I checked out both the Trumpeter and the Classic Airframes kits tonight. I can't decide which one to do. I forgot that I had purchased a decal sheet from Tauro Models. It has three options for the Sm 79 plus markings for a Fiat Cr42 a G50 Bis AS and a G50 B. The CA kit is loaded with two huge bags of resin. The interior detail is spectacular on this kit. Frankly [no pun intended] a little intimidating.

Im not worried about the smoke rings in my cammo job, I have a set of decals I bought for the kit a few months ago. I would like to AB them freehand though. I might get some practice on them over the holliers.

SC, a guy at my Local club built the CA version and it was a beauty. So much visible detail it was awesome.

Steve, who were the smoke ring decals by? Im fancying the idea of that. Ive seen them used and they are really impressive.

Remember all. If you find any good links to all things Italian (Planes!! Not Ice cream Drug lord Aaron) Post em up.

Steve-

You are correct, they are from Mike Grant.  I just ordered a set of those "smoke ring" decals from him yesterday!  I have seen them used as well and they sure looked nice.  Here's a link:

Cheater! Cheater! Just kidding.Big Smile [:D]. I tried freehanding the smoke rings on my Mc205. I was not really happy with the results. They came out heavier than I wanted to. I think the next time I will be using the decals also.

Guy the amount of resin detail on the CA kit is unbelieveable. OOB it is an absolute stunner when it comes to the interior detail. I can not see one thing that you could add. When you throw in the photo etch bits and the Eduard set for the torpedo racks it could be one impressive model if I don't goof it up!

Hey guys.  Is it too late to jump in on this one?  Been a fan or RA aircraft for a long time.

Not sure what I'd build yet.  I have several RA aircraft in the stash, but I'm kind of saving those for later.  I may order something special for the GB.

Hey fellas!  I got my 1/48 Pacific Coast Models MC-200 today in the mail.  I have never laid eyes on one of their kits before, and my immediate impression is WOW!!!

Here's how it looks in the box.  Injection molded airframe with very nicely done panel lines.  Full resin engine, cockpit, prop, wheels, and other bits.  Eduard PE set and two vacuform canopies that are quite exquisite.  Cartograph decals for six different aircraft, and a full color instruction/paint sheet.  Very nice indeed! Approve [^]

Wow, Frank. Makes me want one. I'd like another kit or two to accompany my sole Hase 202 that currently resides in the display case and that kit would be perfect. I wonder if I should commit to this GB? Decisions, decisions.

Oh boy HK! I hear it calling your name!  Please do it will be a fun time I am sure.

Frank that kit looks oooooooooooooooo! I can smell the resin fumes! That is a cool Aircraft! It is just so odd looking with it's small radial engine and bubbles on the cowling. Open pit just screams for you to have a go at her! That is going to be cool!

Where is Guy? It is like 730 AM Sunday Morning? Must be dipping his bisquits in the marmolade! Last I heard from him he was following she that must be obeyed so perhaps once he gets loose he will convince ye HK Shooter!

Troy, you might as well do it as now you have Aaron and Frank on your case and they wont give up until you join us. Besides dont you want to spray paint those smoke rings or the multiple motteling all over an airframe, nothing to worry about, right.

Guy is probably eating his bangers and mash.

Oh yeah...pick on the Brit. Im here and in full effect. I even have Marmite on my fingers while i type.

Franky boy. That kit looks amazing. Thier resin (PCM) is supposed to be absolute quality. Im soo jealous. She looks a stunner. Didnt i read that those M.C 200's had assymetrical wings? Something to do with the torque or something like that?

Shooter. You know you want to join. If you take too long thinking aout it all the slots will be gone Whistling [:-^] or maybe not...or ill send Aaron, Steve, and Frank round to give you Chinese burns. Git yer butt in gear soldier....Or The boys will tear you a new one!!.

You heard right Guy!  The port wing was longer than the starboard wing to counteract the engine torque.  I believe all of the Macchi's had this feature.  I can hardly wait to get started! Tongue [:P]

Ha ha yep someone had to do it.. 1/32 - 1/72  I can only think you are referring  to that 7 letter Profane word that begins with a C perhaps ?   Actually I build more 1/72 & 1/48 - the Real Estate hogs are the oddballs. Aaron I believe these kits to be at least 20 + years old. The price tags read $1.50..

Sean, I have those two exact same kits in my collection too.  Except I have multi-lingual instructions that include english Big Smile [:D].  One of the kits has a damaged canopy and is missing a wheel (might have to do it wheels up).  I didn't realize the tires were rubber until you mentioned it so I had to go and check.  I've built one other Supermodel kit, the Bv 138, but that was 20+ years ago so my memory of the actual build is quit sparse.

I think Aaron confused you with me during his drug induced dilerium.  I also have a 1/32 Maachi 21st Century kit.  I'll probably jump in at some point on this GB but I'm not sure what I'll do yet.  I'm waiting for the Secret Santa Gb and the In My Stash GB to reveal what else I'll be building next year before commiting.  Big Smile [:D]

PUt me in for something, I'll let you know when I find out what.
