Sherman- congrats on the 15, very nice build and dio. The 128 looks great, can't wait to see the Bounder complete.
Smokinguns- The 86 is looking real good. Such a beautiful plane(very "sexy").
Vetteman- The 38 is always a tough kit, Doesn't really matter what kit you choose, but the Mono. is especially tough. "Kick it's a$$, Seabass!!!"
Well I had a very busy week with horse shows, band practice, a late show fri. night, I even wrestled a bull wed. night. That was ridiculous, I was winning till he beat me!!!. Anyway, I got the canopy on and masked last night, and finished getting her ready for paint this morning.
Masked up for stainless steel panels by exaust, with a few panels for the same effect I got on the 86D.
Unmasked, ready for steel metallizer. I normally use post-its to mask over metal finishes, but could not find any, so I decided to risk it using tamiya tape.
For some reason, I did not get a varied shade on the panels that were sprayed over. It has worked every single time before. Oh well. I'll experament a bit later on.
I opted to close the canopy cuz the parts are super clear and you can still see everything. The seat is not correct for a "c" model(it is for later models), but I like the looks of the double ring ejection handles, and don't really care for the look of the older seats.
I must say, this kit is very well engineered, very little seam work. All the sanding on the spine ends up being only about 1/4" wide, very easy clean up, and along the belly, you only end up having to clean up about 3", it's a great kit for an NMF.
