Dont worry Daywaster, its not so bad this side of 40. I realise im getting old when i look at   Brit-knee and think, 'She'd catch a chill in that outfit' bless her. Is she still nutz BTW?

Hey, the knights of the sky GB just ended, that was one of yours Frank, then theres this one. How many GB's are you in or have started? A good dozen im reckoning.

Before you think of rounding on me, Ill have some pics up later (Modelling pics, you filthy minded scallys), just to prove I am doing stuff.

Thought I had commented on your Me 262+1 Aaron but apparently not. It looks awesomw my friend!!!  Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]  Apparently only one flew but there was about a dozen in production when the Allies overran the factory.

My Huma model had terrible decals so I had to do a fictional marking for mine.

As for whar's next?  How about a Me262+2? Mischief [:-,]

You gotta know it takes Frank a long time to get to his stash because it always looks a long way off through his optivisor and he has to have lunch first.

A dozen? Shock [:O]  Probably not far off the mark.  I have nearly reached the closet where a Tamiya 262 supposedly dwells.  Sure hope I can remember what I was going into the closet for by the time I get there.  Where am I again? Confused [%-)]

Sheesh with such a guilt trip... I don't want to be the last guy who gets ragged on, so I'll leave that up to frank :p

I have two choices as we see here... an A1/U4 of an A2/U2

And since I can't decide I asked for some royal guidance...

Well, my books are on their way from HLJ (with $35 shipping, the emperor of Japan had better be delivering them, himself Laugh [(-D]) and the PE is on it's way from Squadron (maybe the emperor could swing by squadron and pick these up on his way over).

I started drilling out the back of the IP for wiring, but then I realized I have no idea where the wiring goes.  I'm sure it doesn't just dead-end someplace, so I hope these books have some decent reference.

Oooooh, I'd love to build that +2!  I know there's a kit of it but have never picked it up.  Oh well, I guess I should actually start work on my 262, maybe this weekend.

Hah, I wanted these badly and they both popped up on ebay a few days later... I scooped them up for like 15 bones. I consider them stolen goods.

I've got another build on the go, and I'm trying to draw out the 262 fun.

Oh no! Not Brittney Spears! Why did we have to bring here into this? Laugh [(-D]

Aaron: Very nice work on the Me-262+1. The paint scheme is really cool! Thumbs Up [tup]

Neu: Nice buys! Can't wait to see them built, especially that A-2a/U2.

And so I begin.  I've taken all the sprues from the bags and soaked them in warm soapy water.

This picture shows some of the research I've done.  I'm planning to do the middle 262 paint scheme.

The detail set looks good but as always I am experiencing some trepidation about taking a razor saw to a perfectly good piece of Tamiya plastic.  I'll get over that soon, I expect, and start hacking those molded in slats and flaps so I can replace them with these resin pieces.

Nice Choice on the scheme Steven, that was the same one I was trying to do. Something about that white nose and rudder tip really look sharp.

The Model master RLM 81( a medium green)  & RLM 82 (a poo~doo brown) are no where near those colors though so beware if that is your paint flavor..  I repainted it so many times It looks like it was painted with a roller. Mine is now  going to the aircraft graveyard.Banged Head [banghead]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] What he said!!!

Maybe put it in Aircraft Limbo (a nearby shelf) for a few weeks/months and then remove the paint and do it "right".

Sean, what have you been up too!!!!  Probably drinking torpedo juice with Bondo over in the FAA GB while you were trying to paint.  Disapprove [V]   Please don't give up.  Take a deep breath and suck it up.  It won't look so bad in the morning.  If all else fails, stuff it in the box with the Gooney bird and ship it North.  Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for the support - but I feel this kit is not worth the time to strip when I can build one of the numerous 1/72 Me 262 kits I have on hand...

Torpedo Juice eh ? I thought that was laquer thinner that ended up in my tin coffee cup Shock [:O]

Oh yeah the resin whells showed up today hahaha Dead [xx(]

In 1/72 the Hasegawa kit is a definite low point compared to the Revell one. The molds have about 50% of the detail of the R. I don't know the provenance of the Hase but it's not very good. Dave's model was a real work of art because of his painting skills, but I didn't much like the bones of my S-92 kit.

I don't know why I did this, I really don't. Slams head to floor, needs to pay the power bill.

Anyhow, because FRANK is asleep at the switch, I went out and got tipsy and bought....

this:

justification being that since Bondo little Nazi nasty subjects modeling does not: ITS A FREEKIN PROTOTYPE.

Bondo, that will be a very nice addition to the GB! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  I too prefer the Revell kit except for the canopy.  I only suggested the Hase kit for the markings.

Sean, What's up with the new avatar????  Isn't that Hoss from Ponderosa?  Must be a Buckaroo thing eh?

His name was Dan Blocker, and he was a John Wayne stand in. Most notably he was to be Major Kong in "Dr. Strangelove", until the director, S. Kubrick, found "Slim Pickens".

I'm going to make a slight change to my build. Still going with the C-1a but going to do the Academy kit instead. This is only because it already has the tail section removed. Though the tail will still need a bit of work as the cutout section doesn't look right and neither is the streagthing band. I have almost finished my Ostwind, so once thats done i am onto the 262.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Sean- Send that Stormbird this way, I'll strip it down for ya!  Lots of practise at that I have. Wink [;)]

Cap'n Bondo- Oh boy... what have we done to you?  A 262 prototype with a prop on the nose, tell us more!  I wanna add it to page one.  Where on Earth did you find that kit?

Bish- I updated your kit to the Academy kit. Thumbs Up [tup]
