So I am sitting at my bench working on the Mono 262 and I notice my calendar is still in October.. Not bad for me only a few days off.  I flip it over and look at what I get to stare at for the rest of the month... It must be a sign from the modeling gods..

LOL! Laugh [(-D]  Daywaster, that kills me every time I hear it!  Am I doing anything for this build?  Yep!  Watching the GROUP build their kits. Whistling [:-^]

Mac- Great story, and how true!  I am taking a quick breather from the arms of our friendly cleaning crew to type this.  Oops, gotta go!  They're looking for me again!

Sean- Great inspirational photo!  I wish I had that for my aircraft this month.  I have a P-51 to look at, and the photo looks like it is coming up on my '6! Shock [:O]

As for the lip incident. The moral to the story is, dont scratch your nose while you have a scalpel in your hand as it may hit you in the gob, on the way through.

Now who's the cheeky fellow!Big Smile [:D]. My buddy Frank is the only other one who builds as slow as me so he's ok in my book.Thumbs Up [tup] Daywaster!  A title that probally describes my activities the last six months. Been sitting on me bum watching the idiot box.

Awe we need a great big group hug!

Well I can say the Czech Model 263 is all done but the drying!

I finished pretty early cuz I wanted to make sure everyone was asleep! I am shy ya know! I thought I had better show some completed work before you all think I am just another pretty face!

So this is what a 262 + 1 is equal too!

I searched the forum for a completed one and found only Dave's great 1/72 beastie! Lots of comments about how it is the worst and a terror to build. Anyone here make one before?  Thought I saw a few comments but no pics?

Gee what could be next up?

Lovely little bird you have there Aaron. Thumbs Up [tup]  I especially like the crazy paint job on it's behind. I would imagine that from the air it looked like the remanants of a bombed airplane. Only the front half shows. Confused [%-)]

Looking at that pic, I dont think i have a lot to do any peeing with!!!

Sir Aaron of Nutski, your excellent story of amazement and woe has moved me, my friend. You are a Bard amongst Loonies.

Your 262+1 is just fantastic. The paint looks spot on and i really love the camo scheme. Was it rocket powered? If so it should have been called an Me 163+1.

Aaron -  That is the coolest paint scheme I have seen in a long time. I agree with Jeremy that it would look like half an aircraft if seen on the ground from above. Your modeling skills always impress me with the way you whip difficult kits into shape.  I bet your one of those guys who can build a vacu~form kit like it was a snap together. Bow [bow]

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here. It looks like a lot of people are completeing thier projects before I have even gotten off the ground (no pun inteneded). I've got two old projects on the bench which are kinda stalled and another that I doing for the Guadalcanal group build which is moving along just fine. I have started on the cockpit for my 262 but with this old Hasegawa kit I see a lot of detail that will need to be added even if I don't open her all the way up. So to make a short story long I hope that everyone won't be done and gone before I get started.

I also wanted to give my congrats on the knowledge shown of "Strange Brew" a few posts ago. I don't normally check the forum out on the weekends because if I anot doing something that needs to be done I am usually in the shop working on one of these projects so I missed this bit fun and wished that I had been able to chime in then. I thought I was the only one that remembered this bit of vintage cimema. A couple of months ago as a matter of fact I made my son and daughter sit through it as one of dad's Presents the calssics nights. Anyway keep up the fun I and I will be posting progress pics soon. By the way anyone for more bean medely?

Don't worry, we're still waiting for our beloved GruppenbildenFührer to start his build.  Frank used to complete 9 or 10 builds a week, he's really slowed down since he went "over the hill". Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I'm doing another one after I finish my current build and this GB is seems to be going really strong so I wouldn't sweat it, lots more fun on the horizon!

Ha!  When did we start this GB? I think we had a surprise start date because some non-coformist couldn't wait if I recall correctly. Mischief [:-,]

Oct 3? Oct 1st?  Anyways it has been over a month and I think Frank has almost made it to the closet door that has the box his kit is in. He kinda moves like Tim Conway.

Right now I am looking for my Italian stuff as I got a hankering!  I am doing a Tamiya shake and bake for the weekend GB though! Thumbs Up [tup]

I've held my silence too long, I was actually approached by several members of this GB who were concerned about our fearless leader's age and apparent lack of action in starting the GB in a timely manner.  While my loyalty to Frank und Vaterland forbade me from an outright coup I did orchestrate an "accidental" early start.  So in the immortal words of Friedrich Nietzsche, "Hate the game not the player". I believe Mike "luftwaffle" executed his own "Operation Valkerie' in an attempt to take control of the GB but our great Gruppe Kommandeur Frank sidesteped the takeover bid by swiftly changing the standing orders to comply with the new executive orders thus averting any internal striff and a very enjoyable GB. And there was much rejoycing

Britney Spears can speak but usally not in complete sentences or anything worth listening to. Besides with a body like that are you interested in what she has to say or checking out her body?

Now back to buisness. I have most of my Tamiya 1/48 262 2a complete and I am waiting on the masks. I noticed the fit of the panel that the gun openings are in does not fit all that well. This part is different from the more popular 1a because it only has two holes in it. It is a bit narrow at the rear and I had to break the rear of it free when I noticed a step between the cover and the fuselage. I inserted an old hobby blade and can push it out into place but now I have to carefull get some glue in the seam with out getting on the outside of the panels and then clamp it down to spread it out a bit. Also like Guy I found the engine to wing fit was not perfect either I needed some putty to fill a small gap. Should have all of this wrapped up tonight now I just need those darn masks!

HA!  That's right folks... there was an attempt to distract me with images of strangely impaled GB members, dancers, and all sorts of great Luftwaffe photos so that I might wander off.  Well, I am on to you guys!!!  Now, I shall not be able to start my build for quite some time as I have to keep an eye on you round the clock now.

Mike (luftwaffle) I should have known you were up to something!

GruppenbildenFührer

I like that! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Aaron- Like that song Brittney is singing!  How the heck am to ever get started with that siren luring me away?

Crusher- Thought I had some masks I could send you (as I won't need them for a looooong time!) but alas, none to be found here.  Probably went missing along with my youth.

And they are absolutely correct Jon!  I will be here building until the last day of the GB.  Which could be years from now, if that's how long it takes to finish mine. Blush [:I]

Mmmmm... now where did you guys put my geritol? Confused [%-)]

Anybody have any images of how the safety harnesses attach to the top/rear of the seat?

I appreciate you taking the time to look Frank. All of my usual suspects are out of stock on the mask set. I was left having to deal with Roll Models the only one that showed having them in stock. I have never ordered from them before and I am not really sure why it takes three weeks for them to ship an order? Their prices are good though.  I think Guy had something to do with it because he wants me to start on my Fiat G-55. That and I gave him the "cheek" about him being a Brit  submiting his Fiat G-55 to STORMO! an Italian website!

SC- I've ordered from them a few times, they usually ship quicker than their estimate.  I think they give you a worst case just as a "CYA:.
