 Bondo of the Captain one each issue that is a cool  and yet odd kit?  To find such a model shows a certain level of obcession and virility!  Speaking of which where is Guy at now?

 How be the XO? Heard he was injured in another misadventure.  Was mistaken for a mud wrestler during Halloween!  Shouldn't have been wearing that nbikini!

In the home stretch now, stickers applied.  I've done some post shading with Tamiya Smoke and Buff.  The Extratech decals were horrible to work with, tore very easily and didn't want to move once applied.  I had to put a patch of red primer over the port side "2" to cover up where part of it came apart.  We'll call it battle damage from a scrape with a Lancaster's tail gunner.

I used a 50/50 mix of Pro-Modeller Light and Dark for the underside panel line wash.  I know a light wash really isn't accurate, but I like it from an artistic standpoint.  My package from Squadron arrived today with my vac-u-form canopies so should have her done in a few days.

I detailed up the UC legs. For the front leg, the torque scissor is on the side so i scratched the scissor as the original part didnt have one in the right place. Guess what i scratched it from? Heres the clue,

Frank might get it. The legs came out pretty good i reckon,

Then it was on with some paint,

Im off tomorrow, so hopefully ill be able to get a bit more done,

Guy- You hacked up a perfectly good Corsair rudder for a 262?   Bloody hell, what next?  Should have wrote that rule about not using Corsair seatbelts to encompass all Corsair parts! Seriously, excellent work.  Love the different paint effects, especially the puttied nose.

Yup, Tamiya's 1/48 offering with MDC replacement wheel bay with the back end of the Jumo 213, and corrected prop and gun cowling.

Needless to say none of the resin fits that great, which make me think I might end up doing Trump's 1/32 262 for this GB as I want one with the slats extended and flaps dropped, but the resin route isn't exactly looking attractive after the 110, and the AM for the 190.

I'll do a WIP for the 190.

Thats some fancy airbrush work their Guy. I like the way it is shaping up. I am really looking foward to taking the airbrush to my 2a because of the unusual camo.  Mine is painted in a cool leopard spot paint sceme of darkgeen spots over light green. It should look pretty good. I get tired of doing the typical graugrun/grauviolet over lichblau paint sceme that most fighters are done in. Hoping to see some masks soon!

Well I am another who has not started yet, so the club is growing. I did do some paint work on it last nite as I was working on another build that had the same colours so figured would do some 262 parts while the AB was out. Should get a start soon, this kit looks way too cool.

Great work being done by everyone here and cant wait to be posting progress with ya.

I always liked the 262 because I thought the fuselage kind of looked like a sharks body and the rudder looks like the fin sticking out.

Hi there guys, I was wondering if this build is still open for membership because I found a Tamiya 1/48 Me 262 A-1a in the stash along with some Eagle Cals decals and a couple of Aires bits & pieces.

If it's ok I'd like to do Heinz Bar's Red 13 in a RLM 74/75 camo.

By the way there's been some outstanding work in this forum so far

Well I have been scratch building alot here. Working nights and the rainty weather here means very lil use of the airbrush. I have gotten to use it with the conditions, for quick cockpit paint jobs.

These next few pics are of the tub. I added wires and tubes. You will also notice that i added the controls from the stick aft to the aeleron. also i modeled the hyd lines on the left side( didn't notice i flipped the image and ran them the wrong way they are suppose to run forward not aft.)

Here are the pics of the cockpit. I added a seat cushion and PE seatbelts (after 4 hrs trying to scratch them I gave up and raided the stash.) I made the throttles out of plasticard and actually made the release handles on the front of them. I made the small yellow handles also. I noticed looking on the net that the nose break handle & bomb release where missing too(added). I also wired the IP. Targeting sight will be glued on after the cockpit is installed.

Hope you enjoy my slow but detailed work. It is time to start on the nose gear and gun bay so I can close this thing up.

Guy: Great work on the paint! It is definitely unique. How did you do the NMF with puttied panel lines on the nose?

Jason: Very nice as well. The added detail looks great! 

My 262 is kind of at a stand still. I am trying to finish up and overdue bird for the PBY GB and I need to get on the ball and either order a mask or hand mask the canopy of the 262 before paint can begin.
