D@mn the weaher nneeds to be nice to me, I am falling behind on so many builds. All i get to do is prep, try to add extra detail to kits like Frank, Guy, & Sean. I have 2 models on deck that need a little touch up and future for deacal & weathering, ad one that needs a coat of base paint. After i get any of these projects finished I can start whole heartely on my 262. I have broken sprue and wired the IP. I took artistic license on the IP wire runs since I had no good reference pics but I think it looks good, will post pics soon. I am going to use some of the pics of the landing gear and weapons bay to add extra detail to the tamiya kit.

Dave-Great job with the airbrush on the divine scale 262.

Guy-you always amaze me the the extras you add to your kits. Please keep the excellent builds coming. Do you have a set of Corsair seatbelts for this build???

Sean- Love all the extra detail added to the motor and the engine attachment points look spot on. I found a pic or 2 of a jet that looka alot like yours.

I got some more today. As im intending to put the separate Ailerons and flaps (Back of the wing), i needed to thin everything down, in order to get the things fitting sweet. Easier said than done, cos if you go too far, your boogered. So, for the delicate touch, i used my dremel ,

This looks ok, but i needed to give it another good sanding, by hand this time, and then a final scraping with the scalpel. When happy, i did the oposite side, and it looks like this,

then i had to get the rest of the contact surfaces for the inner and outer flap,

Next up was the fitting of the lower wing. This should have been easy but i had to do, what i like to call, 'A rippoff'. This being the ripping off of the lower wing after about 1min due to there being a nub of resin i hadnt removed. Not allowing the wing to seat properly, DOH!! Anyhoo, it went on ok in the end,

Next up came the carefull allignment of the top wings. Due to the ammount of wing i'd removed, there was only 1 locating pin left, that i could use. They went on without any 'Rippoff's'. Then camer the gratuitous mock up shot,

So its all looking fairly pukka. I need to fabricate a couple of little bits that have been bashed and damaged, like the tiny triangular piece between the aileron halves and the fillet between the Ailerons and the inner flap. Anyhoo, thats for tomorrow. Im off to bed.

Hi chaps, no pictures I'm afraid (next time?), but I've brush painted the interior RLM 66 using the xtracrylix range, undiluted.  Looks good!  I've actually painted 3 fuselages, as I bought a double kit, and also a limited edition Czech version produced for the Eduard open-day (I bought it at Hannants London though).  I think I'll produce a Czech version first, so, if I screw it up, I can use another fuselage for it.  Mottling in 1/144 looks to be an interesting challenge.  On a 'Sweet' kit, the instructions, as best as I could understand the Japanese comic style instructions, said to use a cotton bud, to mottle (an Italian aircraft in this instance).

Next I'll paint the seats, and, think about how to represent seat belts, in 1/144.

Everyone's doing such a fine job, I really had better push the boat out on this one!  Thanks for letting join in this GB, it's such fun to be a part of it.  Thanks chaps!

Put me down for a Trumpeter 1/32 Me-262-a2 Visible.  I wonder if Trumpeter gives you all the detail parts you'll need or will there still be scratchbuilding to be done?

SOrry I haven't been around for a couple of days, work has been insanely busy!  So glad to see so much work going on here.  

Aaron- First across the finish line, well done my friend!  The General would be very proud to see this magnificent rendition of his aircraft.  Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.

Sean- Have the engine trails commenced yet?  I want a video of it running ASAP.  I think you made the right choice on your engine mounts.  The strip idea didn't look quite right to me, but the way you have now is perfect- I'm loving it!

Dave- How in the world do you do that, especially in 1/72 scale?  It just looks so, well- perfect!  Always enjoy seeing your AB work- would love a chance to sit in your paint shop and watch you do it.

Aaron, that's fine work on your 262.

Dave, your's is coming along real nicely.

Some other great work going on here, especially all that scratch-building on the old Monogram kit.

Is this the stuff you are talking about?

I use it all the time and have never had a problem yet. I now see they have this also. A "Fine" surface primer but have never used it.

Razordws: Fantastic job on the mottle. is it airbrushed or paint brush? If AB I'd like to know how you did it. Also, the mask on the canopy, did you buy that or do it yourself? I would guess if its the latter its just a lot of trial and error till you get it right?

Summit: What can I say that hasn't already been said? Truly amazing work so far.

Hey I am just going to primer my Mono 262 and toss it in box and in the river. Keep a look out for it and when you find it Please give it a Mottle job also.

Aaron - That big ole 1/32 HaseG looks Preemo Man you must of went decal wacky applying all of those stencils...  And the pilot looks ready for business also. I like it with the panels open. Where is the frankenmechanic ? Congratulations for the first to finish !

Dave that mottle in 1/72 is absolutely incredible. I would believe it if I hadn't seen the pics.

Well I am gonna call mine done as I got some quiet time to snap a few pics! Almost a shame to compare this Hasegawa oldy with what you all are achieving!

 I  usually like making my aircraft with things closed up but used some white glue to open things to show some of the work I put into it. So there ya go! One down and it was fun!

I mocked up the Mono 262 for the first time. 

Yeah I know ~ there are not holes in the wing structure where I boxed them in but I liked the looks of it .

I used that Fantastic "Tamiya Primer" on the engine. That stuff is Top Notch.. It's a shame I cant get it in my area..

SC, I'm going strictly OOB too so don't feel all alone.  Mine doesn't have half the detail of the larger scale Tamiya kit either!

Looks good Sean. I feel like I am the only one build OOB here? I mean it is a Tamiya kit how much AM could I possible need? The cockpit is all done as is the gunbay. it looks awefull empty as I am building the 2a Jabo so two on the cannons were removed due to the weight. Still undecided as to close it up or not. It should look pretty cool though with the bombs hanging of the front and the RATO's under the cockpit. Plus I really like the over all lightgreen upper color mottled with dark green sploches. You do not see this camo pattern to much. Getting ready to close up the fuselage halves tonight and I should have the wings together too.

I really like the two seat night fighter version. I build one way back when. Does anyone make a conversion kit to modify and of the 1/48 scale kits into a two seat version. O would love to build one.
