Do you realize that usually by this time we have several inches of snow on the ground and the average daily temp. is 28 not 48.If it sounds like i'm complaining,yes I am because I rather love a true Mn. winter.Nothing could be worse than deer hunting in crunchy leaves.The weekend after Thanksgiving is the opener of blackpowder season,the only way i've been big game hunting for 15 years now.

Let the Wintering begin.Dupes I'm in with the dragon Elephant Premium kit with verlinden interior and Aber barrel,and Hobby boss tracks.And if I gather enough refs I'll go with the Aerosans a bit later.

Hi Dupes

Does this fit the criteria?

It's not really armor, but I can put a winter paint job on it... and I'd like to go one step further and make it into a small diorama (vignette?) depicting the scene as per the box-art.

That should be enough of a challange, as I have never built a snow scene before, and it's been nearly 30 years since I last saw it (snow)!
Also your winter is our summer, maybe thinking about snow will help me keep cool.

379 parts... that should keep me busy (damn indy link tracks)

Brett - in principle this will be fine. I haven't looked at the included schemes (have that guy in the closet!), but it needs to be in a whitewash, not just panzer gray. As long as you're going to slap some white paint on there, you're in! Interested to see how close you can get to the box art photo as well.

Detailfreak - got you down for the Elephant. Should be a bit larger than that Kettenkrad!

Next Tuesday is the day to start laying down the goods! Wow that was fast.

My M4 HST is going to be one heck of a build! I busted the shrink-wrap open last night to get a look at things...SWEET!!! There is a real nice motor included and some detailed mortar storage racks...and some nice PE details. The interior can be shown off if I choose too! Dupes...I sense another 251-type effort required for this GB.

I busted open the new M26 and M5 Stuart boxes too...the Pershing is a beaut' and I saw a nice British color option for the Stuart...I think I may finally be pullin' out this funk!!!

Dupes,was that kind of a Braille thing you had going in the closet ,or is your closet equiped with some of those colored military light filters,say blue or red?I dont know if I can resist.Ahh but alast I have StraBenrad builds to finish.Still strugglin along with the Brummbar and the Hornisse And the Zwischen Losung,And I don't think I'll make it to the Bergepanzer.Oh well you can't build them all.

Dupes, if it's OK, I'd like in on this GB. Looks like a fun one given the roster! I'd be building the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 Yak-1 w/skis. (...and BTW, winter way up here usually starts around mid-October and runs 'til May, but I'm fine with the time frame for this GB

Dupes, I hadn't seen this one advertised much. I found it in my LHS and it looked like an interesting build. By scanning the parts trees, it looks like it will have good detail, has decals for several vehicles. The research I've done so far says the 7th Panzer Division rec'd 25 of them in Sept of '44, just in time for winter!

Well, I'm figuring this build is a go. Cracked the box open - this is one nice kit. Did a little online research as to how best duplicate the winter whitewash and saw some I really liked. Just hope I can pull it off.

So I started building. Wonder if any one else has....Any how, I need to get this done by the end of December so its full speed ahead! I should hopefully be moving come mid January so that means packing up the modeling gear and relocating it. Moreover, the new house won't have a dedicated modeling space as I do now. Why you ask? Because baby 2.0 is on the way and is due in March! So, you can see, I have a lot of work to do in a very short amount of time. Fortunately, I just participated in the Weekend Madness group build and it honed my modeling quickness! 'Nuff talk, back to work. Pics to come!

Same for me, probably saturday night. The period from the 11th to the 21st should be very productive though, as the wife is headed to Mexico to spend some beach time with the daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids (I have to work....and clean, and do laundry, and cook, and take care of the dog, and finish the trim in the hallway, and put up the outside lights....you get the idea). I'll use the spare time (if any) wisely.

I too am not far off... just finishing my current project (3 egg plane dog-fight mobile for the kids room), only another 4-5 sessions till completion.

Hey Dupes how about this for the armor badge

I still have to finish up a current project I've been working on so I should be starting on the SU85 in a week or so. Have a plan for this one that will have a bit of both sides to it.
