Hey Mikey... great work on the MiG! She looks pretty classy in that paint scheme. Yes

I haven't made any progress on the Thunderceptor. Embarrassed  Trying to finish one more build before I get full bore on her.

jmabx

I'm definitely looking forward to the He-176! I've never seen one built before.

Same here, hows your beast going jb?

I used some skull white on my mig the other day to check for gaps, id prepped it for tamiya which is slightly different from citidel prep work and it just pulled away like water in an oily pan. fun to watch, just frustrating

@ scorpiomickey: I have never had problems with citadel paints. But maybe that is because I indeed always prep the surface by degreasing it with alchol of ammonium.

I do not expect any problems with the Me-163, I have only read favorable reviews on that kit. I have added some pe seatbelts, the rest of the cockpit is out of the box.

The He-176 is ok until now. It is a short run kit but I have definitly seen worse.

I think i spy a citidel paint there. great paints, poor adhesion if you dont prep properly. Looking faward to seeing these 2 come together. as i mentioned before i m a little stuck with mine, so im moving on to a corsair for a while till the decals arive

I could not resist and, altough I should have studied, have started. I also could not choose between the Me-163 and the He-176, so I am building both.

Here are some pices of the parts, boxes and references.

I alos found out that the two books on the left are the same. Only in different languages..,english and german... that is what you get when you have to much books!

All g bro, take your time. your studies are more important than models (debatable but im sticking with that for now lol)

Short update on the mig, shes as done as i can get her at the moment, i realised the roundels ive got are way too big. so im waiting for another sheet from ventura. theyre beautiful decals. im getting the kiwi roundels sheet which comes with triband tail markings that have been raked off to match the angled tail fin. Also because of a difference in font i had to stick with NZ1076 rather than changing it up. Ill post some photos tommorow hopefully. just thought id let you know where im at.

Cheers, shes going together surprisingly easy. If zvezda branched out a little into some bigger stuff id buy more of them. Low cost, high quality (very high quality) very finley scribed panel lines, almost perfectly to scale. Only complaint i have is theres a slight sink on the top of the wings where the gear bay is. only showed up since i started putting future on.

scorp she's looking good mate!!!! Picked up an AGA? Mig -21 today with Polish Air Force Team markings from a mate at work today. The kit is about early Airfix standards by first glance and will be interesting to find out(much) later how it all fits. Interesting markings, it is like an eagle head over a red nose. mate is thinning out his stash and is giving me these kits which I also told him WHATEVER you want to part with I WILL TAKE!!!

Ok, heres the latest couple of photos.

Nothing exciting to report. couple more coats of future. sort out the legs, decals, future, little bit of weathering (the harvards are kept immaculate, so are the plastic rats we fly atm)

Once finished ill set up a miini photo booth and take some real good shots of it. I dummy fit the canopy this morning. wow shes gonna look niiice, Clean up on the drop tank tonight, hopefully finished by the weekend. This is the smoothest build ive EVER done. its great.

Slight change in plans for the decals. had a count up of what ive got and only 8 kiwi roundels each aircraft needs 6, so ill be doing it with silver fern roundels which came in before the kiwi.
