I'd like to jump in if i could.  Don't know the kit or paintscheme, but it will be colorful (probably foreign) and in 1/72.

The Tamiya F-16C/N kit comes with decals for multiple camo schemes from Top Gun and Red Flag and the "Arctic Bandit" scheme as well.

Here is a review of what you get in this kit.  I am not an F-16 expert.  This will explain better than I ever could.

I will paint a scheme that you don't.  No big deal to me.  You wanna pick it as you are the host of the GB?

Macattack: I am building it straight out of the box. It comes with the barely gray/pale green (?)/grey scheme. I have a Netz decal sheet that will cover the "desert" color scheme.....as well as the Sufa!

I have a whole covey of F-5/T-38 aggressor kits in the stash that I plan on building. Those will sport all the different variant schemes from the AF and Navy agressors.

What were you planing on? I haven't seen the Tamiya kit. Either way it will be nice to have the kit covered in 1/48 and 1/72!

Awesome!!!  What color scheme were you planning on painting?  This way we can get a few different flavors of camo.

It was part of the BRAC decision. Just like we here in Houston lost our Vipers for UAV's.

Yes medic, they have indeed converted to the A-10. Fitting really since the college sports teams are the Razorbacks!!! But nevertheless surprised to hear about the conversion!!

Ditto that!  Can't remember the last build that WASN'T for a GB!

Richie- Oooohhh... the Flying Razorbacks!  I'll be looking forward to that one. Propeller

Medicman- Glad you like that book!  I look through mine quite frequently, as I really do think it is the best reference book in my collection.  If only they had a title devoted to the Hornet!

Ditto I have 3 group builds with 3 different Kits. And I haven't finished the Osprey yet. Between that and moving (in 2 weeks) i'm not getting anything done.

Daywalker- Yeah i agree. I want a Hornet and a Tomcat book as well.

Aren't the Razorbacks flying A-10C's now? I think they are. Check this pic out.

Thanks Frank!! Yes, looking forward to doing it. Would love to find some decals for the F-4's they had in 1/72. Was in Arkansas on vacation in early 80's when we still lived in California and on our way back to Tulsa, a couple Rhino Razorbacks were doing a lil ACM over us as we were driving. They were fairly low and one of them had just gotten checkmate during a scissors. That was way cool to watch!!!!

]Wolfman: I got you in. Those are some really nice kits. I built the B-1B for the 144 GB and was amazed at the detail of the kit! Good luck with those stripes!!!

Daywalker- Thanks for the heads up on that book. I saw some others there that I want too.

My pleasure, I think you will be impressed!  I also have the Eagle guide, and the Hog guide.  I also plan to buy the Phantom guide and the other F-16 titles.  I love these books!

Well I ordered it. I really need it to figure out all the different versions. Thanks for the link.

Let me know what you think when you receive it.  I just got my copies of The Viper Story Part I and II, awesome stuff!

Got the book several days ago and it's awsome!!! Not a thing is missed in the book. For those that don't have it you should get it. Not a detail is missed and all blocks of the C/D Viper are explained in detail. I'm gonna order the other books of the Eagle and Warthog as well.

You can count me in on this one too!!  I will give the Tamiya F-16C/N in 1/48th scale a go.  Probably in an aggressor scheme.  I will probably add some aftermarket stuff too.  I will let you know when I figure that out.

I'll jump in on this one. I have the 1/48 Hasegwa F-16 CJ block 40. Not sure what markings i'll do it in. Need to do some research on what units use it and what for (eg. strike, wild weasel). If anyone knows the answer to this it would be helpful.

Travis- I have the 1/32 Tamiya F-16 backdated to a block 25 aircraft from ODS on my bench right now, as well as a 1/48 Tamiya F-16 block 30 in the works.  If I can add those two here, I'd like to enlist!

BTW, I am not sure if anyone else is familiar with the book by Jake Melampy entitled "The Modern Viper Guide", but it is one of the finest reference books I have ever picked up.  HIGHLY recommended! (I have no ties with the author- just love the book!)

Gosh I'm so tempted! As I said on the interest thread I've about five vipers in my stash. But I also have about twenty or so half completed models scattered around. If you don't mind I may have a chance to jump in sometime next year once I've polished some of this other stuff off please.
