I just now got off the phone with a friend of mine who lives in Perth, although he's in Italy right now. Still hear that accent ringing in my ears, and he has a good one. He's offering to have us up at his house, although I think it's about the farthest point on the planet from here.

The past few posts have had me thinking.

Is the name "Weekend Madness" for th rush of trying to get as much done as possible, or is it from having to try and figure out when everyone (esp. on different sides of the world) should start?

Or, is it a combination of both?

Its pretty much just the hectic but very fun nature. This is my third one and I can tell you that it is big fun. You'll see this thread blowing up as soon as it kicks off for real. As for when folks should start, everyone has it figured out in ample time. All I can say is, once it kicks off, buckle up, its a crazy ass 48 hours.

Oh, I get it now. Just blow them doors off and build like mad untill you get something in 48 hours or less.

Okay, I finally decided. It's so simple compared to a couple of the things on here already, but I might not have a solid 48 hours, if I have the weekend at all, in which case I will be a spectator, but if my teachers aren't too harsh one of those weeks, I'll be building a T-34 1/72 from Trumpeter and maybe build a base if I have the time, making a little scene.  Fingers crossed I get the time to to do it!!!!

Well then I would say it is about time that you did.  Welcome aboard! 

I am gonna change entries for my kit choice. Instead of the sub, I am gonna go with a Tamiya 1/35 KV-1. More building required but not some much mask painting, and I have not built a tank in a weekend in a LONG time.

LMAOTHIGC a tank in a weekend? Just kidding, Carlos!

I used to do it routinely once upon a time my friend... With a nice simple one color paint scheme I am not worried.

Well orded my kits today, so should have them easy in time.

My primary build will be a Hasegawa Fw190A egg plane, rumor has they are rather fun and quick so I'm also going to do a 1/24 Lancia Delta HF 16V.

One month to go folks.  It's coming up fast so make sure you all have your paint and supplies ready. 

I'm good to go. I probably have enough Alclad II to paint  a 1:1 Mustang. Don't ask....

I got to ask, how did you get that much Alcalad II paint?

Also, I'm not real sure about this yet, but I may wind up scratch-building a railcar for this build, using plans from a model railroading magazine.

It's not 100% confirmed yet.

Oh, I've got paint and supplies ready, I just need to pick out a kit!

Think I'm trending towards armor just to "mix things up a bit".

I'm all set with my staff car, might even try a figureto go with it...

Looks like I will be doing the Italeri Kfz.15 horch 1:35, I havn't opened the box to see how confident I will be finishing it yet. but it seems to be the most appropriate kit that I have in the stash for this build.
I had a walk through the LHS yesterday, and nothing really jumped off the shelf and said "build me... build me".
Now I just have to do a stocktake of paints and materials.

It is currently a bit hectic, I have the South Australian Scale Model Expo in 2 weeks, and I have 3 dioramas and five builds I am entering, (one is the Tiger I built in last years weekend madness),  so I am touching up and finishing off a heap of stuff, as well as 2 consignment builds currently on the bench. It will be nice to just push everything to the side and bang out a quickie (I'm not sure that is the right expression to use, but you get the meaning).

Konigwolf13: I built the Focke egg plane last year, they are a sweet little kit. My only tip that I would suggest is using silly putty (availabel from K mart) to mask off the underside, when you paint the top.

Dupes: build armour, I'd like to see that!

I'm intrested, did one of these couple years ago and had a blast. Not sure of subject yet but will post as soon as I know.

You sound rather busy Brett.

May I ask the why the suggestion for silly putty? Being a soft mask line I would of just elevated some paper  using a small bit of bluetac to create the soft line.
