FYI: I have never gotten off to such a rocky start on a build? Dummy me for not realizing the subtle (to my eyes) changes in the Charger for 68 through 70. It turns out the F&F movies used a '70 front end and wouldn't you know it- having bought three Charger model kits now I don't have a '70? The 70 had a distinctive wraparound grille which replaced the front bumper. I had read earlier that the movie cars just didn't use the more traditional separate bumper like a 68/69 had. Hmmm, I either see an end to this plan or a concession in being correct?Tongue Tied

 Hans von Hammer:

Ok, I'll get started on them, probably over the weekend... Got a rather full plate, bench-wise, right now... 'Course, once I  make the molds, I can churn 'em out pretty quick...

Just an update, '38... I haven't yet started on casting the figures yet due to the surgery I had and all the associated stuff that goes along with it... I should, barring calamaties, get 'em going this week...

no Prob Hammer,,, no hurry

FWIW: I picked a THIRD Charger which is also a Revell kit and between my first R/T and now this one I have the right front and rear end panels for the movie car look. Speaking of which I also picked up the movie with special features disc to get some good looks at the movie car builds. I guess I'm just about armed for the build now?Confused

Can I come in?  I'm building the 1/200 Trumpeter Arizona for a ship GB so since it was in Pearl Harbor as well as Tora Tora Tora.  I'm thinking it qualifies.  I haven't started it yet but I think I can finish it in a year.  Do I qualify or is this a don't call us, we'll call you?

I also want to try and build the Revell 1/28 scale Fokker Triplane in the colors of Ernst Kessler in the movie, The Great Waldo Pepper.  The black and yellow plane with LOLA written across the fuselage and "du doch nicht" across the elevators.  If I get ambitious, I will also try and build Waldo's Sopwith Camel in the same scale.  That was one of my all time favorite movies.  The flight scenes are amazing considering there was no CGI involved.

On the Bench: 1:200 Titanic; 1:16 CSA Parrott rifle and Limber

On Deck: 1/200 Arizona.

Recently Completed: 1/72 Gato (as USS Silversides)

Mr Squid will add you in th enext day or two.

Klik, I'd say yes if they are going to be painted, no if not painted as they are not a hard build and 25% left isnt alot.

Ok, less than 2weeks to kick off. Still havn't made my choice yet, I better get my but into gear.

I went out and picked up a Revell Charger R/T which had a front end treatment close to the Fast and Furios movie "Hero car" and I liked it for other things that came with the kit. Then I realized it had the wrong rear panel treatment? So I also picked up an MPC 'Dukes of Hazard' Charger figuring I'd cast a copy of that tail lamp panel and eventually build that car someday.

Dang if the MPC molds aren't so used up that there's a major sink mark across the center of that tail panel? This is proving frustrating and I haven't really started yet?Tongue Tied

 TD4438:

I just picked up a funky yellow color for my M48.It's called 'Smoothster Yellow' by Boyd.I'm itching to get started.

That's a very transparentish (new word) color and you should test spray some if you've never used it. I like it over a solid yellow basecoat but that also tints the results. It's also heavy with pearl and I think you're building an AFV? Again, you might wanna try it before committing it to plastic.Wink

Thanks for the heads up.To me it looked like a similar color to the one used on the tanks in the movie 'Patton'.They are painted a brightish armor yellow.I'll definately test it first.

Is there a limit on how "complete" the model is? My brother and I both have some Gundam kits that are about 75% complete.

If it's Ok, let me know.

Sorry for the delay in updates peoples. I promise to have it all done by Wednesday night. Its been hell here, between the lardlord having the wood heater ripped out for gas heating (requiring new carpets and painted roof) the lounge (where my bench and comp are) has been either a total shambles or not at all and had not much computer time and no bench time, but things are back on track now so I will be caught up presently.

Ah, thanks... I never got much into the prequels of the Star Wars saga, just the original three...   Of the three prequels, it was only Episode III that I watched more than once...

Yeah, the lead up was nowhere near as engrossing as the originals, but once the Clone Wars actually started it became much more watchable.

It's a Star Wars "tank" of sorts used against the Republic Forces during the Clone Wars.

Hi!

Can I take part to this gb? I have two models in my mind. Other one is AMT Corporate Alliance Droid with what I already signed up to "No aftermarket gb", but haven´t done anything to it since then Embarrassed I think it´s less than 50% started:

And another is Revell 1:144 Space shuttle modified to Moonraker.

Not sure which kit you have in mind for Oddballs, Sherman, but I used the old Testor's M4A3... Check this guy's Oddball rendition..

http://www.precision-panzer.moonfruit.com/#/m4a3-sherman/4534109766

I didn't do much scratch-building at all on it, really... It was just a matter of the loudspeaker, pipe for the main gun, and various stowage parts, with the all-important frying pan and bucket...

If you Google-Image "Oddball M4 Sherman", you'll get all KINDS of stuff to look at for the OddSherm...
