Agree!!! Nice to see some work put up.  With primer comes color, looking forward to it.

TM - Did you decide on a color scheme?  Here is another idea.

Yay. Someone is still active. LOL Looking good Carl!

I've got the tracks washed and hoped to install them this weekend. perhaps I'll base the lower half too. This baby takes a lot of time and paint.

Finally i have an update !!!!  Whistling

Before paint ........

.......and after paint . I sprayed a base coat of MM flat black enamel and then went over that with a coat of Krylon ruddy brown primer . When the paint cured i rubbed some ground up pencil lead into the paint to show areas of wear  with a stiff bristled small brush .This isnt the finished look for the interior yet , still some work to be done .

JOHN - Thanks and happy to hear you like her.  Great job on testing your patience with those links and wheels!  Cleaning those parts has to be the worst of a build.

IBUILD148 - I thank you too.  Used Model Masters for the case.  I use MM for all of my painting, at least about 99% of the time.  Only have 4 colors of Tamiya paints the rest MM.  Then I use both water color (Grumbacher) and artists oils (Winsor & Newton) for my washes.

Rob, that sure is some beautiful work!

Hey Carl, you're doing some fine work on that. Had very many ejector pin marks to fill?

Finally, I have made some progress over the weekend. Cleaned 2 ejector pin marks off of each track link, about 200 links. Got all the road wheels, return rollers, drive sprocket and idlers cleaned up as well as removing some locating marks on the hull. Not a lot to see but here it is.

Thanks for the ideas Rob. I'm going to consider those among some other examples I've seen. I saw one with a two-tone of yellow and green that was interesting. Now if I can only find it again.

ERIC - How about on of these for camo?  I'm curious about the one in achtungpanzer site, the third picture down when you go into it.  Have seen these vehicles with the light dunkelgelb base with dark dunkelgrun spots but this one I have not seen.  It has a dark base with light spots.  That would be intresting to me if we could figure what color it is.

BOB - You have to be crazy, your paint job is coming out beautifully!  Cant wait to see her finished up.

Looking forward to see all of your finished builds

Well guys, think I am going to call this one done.  Here are a few pics, I am going to post a bunch more in the armor section.

The only thing I see that I'm going to work on  is the color of the wire rope on the front.  Think it needs a little engine gray on it.

ERIC - Thanks for putting on a great GB and thanks for letting me participate.

Now I have to get started in "The Group Build To End All Group Builds", then Andy's Panzer III GB.

Have enjoyed working with all of you and I will be checking in often, really want to see all of your great builds complete.  Keep up the fabulious work.

Hang in there Eric , your getting closer to the finish ...................Beer

It doesn't feel like it. I was done with basic construction in about 2-3 weeks, so I have been lollly-gagging for the past month. I do feel a little better with some paint to look at. Alas, now I have to conjure up a camo scheme. I hate this part. I'm probably going to go with the old tri-color standby, with large swaths of color. I haven't really seen anything appealing in gallery's on other sites.

Still have the tracks to do. Bang Head Perhaps I'll get them on one side a night, so I don't get overwhelmed.

Got a basecoat on the upper hull. Yuck, not to happy with it. Lot's of little things I missed and made a mess of. Hopefully the camo and weathering will disquise it a bit.

There is a lot of hull to paint. I need a basic sprayer. Mine I believe is a fine tip. Yikes.

Hey Carl, thanks for the answer.  I knew that was the radio but thought the antenna on the right side of the vehicle was the one for it.  You always find an antenna and holder on German armor and I assumed that was the primary antenna and then I assumed there were additional antennas for command vehicles and such.  I asked over in the Armor section and WBIll had said this antenna was stadard and was for the primary radio.  So now my question is: What is the antenna on the right side for? Dunce  Things I used to think I knew Tongue Tied  Anyway I have mounted an antenna bracket on the left side now, it's just waiting for paint.

Decided to move to the front of the vehicle for awhile.  It was an after thought but here is the begining of wire rope for the front.

Twisted two very small strands of wire and glued on some ends from the spare parts box.  " I Heart spare parts box"  This is how she turned out.

Rob , i'm not sure if all of these vehicles had radio or not ...............a safe bet would be the were radio equiped vehicles attached with those that did not . In the case of your model i see a radio setting on the left side behind the shield , so i'm saying it should have an antenna .Just my 2 cents .

I have a question maybe one of you may know.  Looking through pictures, some of these vehicles have an antenna mounted on the left side of the gun shield and some do not, or am I just missing it?  Which if not all carryed an antenna on that side?  Should I have added one?

 Shellback:

Rob , thanks for the kind comments . This is the most scratch building i've done . I'm in the mood for it and i have the supplies ...........so it just fell into place . Once the weather gets better here i wont be as willing to spend the time on this build so hope fully i'll be at the painting stage by then........http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w164/Shellback-01/Misc%2001/C3.gif

Super looking finish and detail on your build . You've really made it a beauty ! Looking forward to your weathering it .Beer

As we all know, living in the NW, it could be a long wait for nice weather. Geez, it was 70+ on Wednesday. Poured cats & dogs last night. Yuck, I'm sick of it, but it does keep the pollen down and therefore my allergies contained.

Sorry that I haven't posted much progress lately. Been trying to get the yard ready for summer. Pretty hard to do when half of the back, past our firepit, is a pond.

I too am sick of all this rain lately, Eric and were in Ohio...we're just supposed to get snow  LOL!!

Heh, don't I know it. We're supposed to get an upgrade of 60's here this week, so we'll see. At leas the rain gives me a break from yardwork.

Rob, those helmets give a good indication of just how small the Panzerjager was. Tiny. Looking better all the time. Yes

Tony - Thanks, very pleased you like it.  Your build of this little guy was a big inspiration just ish I would have found it from the begining.  "Life is a garden, you just have to dig it"

CARL, BOB - Thanks for the comments and I'm still looking forward to both of your next post.

TERRY - Catwalk Queen, that sounds nice Heart

Well guys, thought I was going to have this gear on and done but there is still more to do.  Have been working on it all day, has been slow going for some reason.

As you can see there are still some touch-ups to do.  Will also still add a few rifles and then weather the gear.

Until next time Cool

CARL - Your scratch building skills are AWESOME Yes  The interior is looking great.  Saw your gun in the background of one of your earlier pics and was looking forward for you to give us a shot of the gun detail, VERY NICE.  Waiting for more Whistling

Well all pieces are on and now will be working on the final weathering.  Might be adding a little stowage / gear on also, not sure what though?  Here is a sneak peek:

Like was saying still weathering to come dont think it will be heavy though.
