Bearcat got its first lick of paint, went back in the "not sure what to do now" pile.

Sounds good.  I got the wings on the F102 last night.  Not an easy fit.  I just have to get some C clamps.  The clips I have just don't work for some things.  I'll send up some images later or tomorrow.

My Splealth is ready to roll. Just need some airbrush time. Typical Tamiya I tripped with the box while running up the stairs and the damn thing was fully assembled when I opened it..... As for AM goodies I used bits of a Verlinden set, a rather lousy set for the F-117. All that resin and the only thing I used was the back panel of the cockpit and some select Photo-etch. The rest wasn't even worthy of the spares box. The GBUs were laughable. I replaced the Kit seat and the miserable Verlinden offering with a Black Box seat from the spares box. I'll post some pics when there is more than a black-plastic F-117 to show.

Ive just gotten moved back home for the summer, which will allow for some nice building time. I've got a couple of other GBs I'm committed to, but I should be able to start this one in a month or so!  Propeller

Looking forward to photos of the F-102, that was one sleek looking plane.

Happy to say that I've gotten the original paint applied by the Germans done both the under and the splinter camo over it. Just three minor problems where the paint seeped under the mask to correct. Then I'll spray the French khaki where they painted over the German markings. Hopefully, have some photos before much longer.

I've got GBs I signed on for before this one I really should be working on but this project is going so well so far I've been doing far more work on it.

Hey folks.  Just stopping in for an update.  I managed to complete the primary shaping and sanding of the fuselage on my F102.  I had some minor issues with fit I had to address.  I can now move on with assembly and paint.  How are your projects coming along?

Don't you miss the old days when kits had opening and closing bomb bay doors?

DiscoStu
I did some work on my "Splealth" over the weekend. Cockpit and bomb-bay painting. Stuck on a dilemma though. If I close the Bomb bay I can make use of an excellent decal of the skunkworks logo I have. If I leave it open most of the decal will be obscured but it will highlight the bomb bay. Oh decisions.

Send up some images so we can see how it is coming out.  Mine is in the putty and sand phase.  I had a few fit issues around the cockpit that I missed on my first glance over.

I managed to get it back together and Im waiting for some putty to set up overnight so I can give it another sanding.  I think it will be OK.  Just a small delay.

I can hardly wait to see some images.  Mine is progressing slowly.  One of my glue joins on the top of the fuselage popped apart for some odd reason so I am trying to get it redone and as smooth as it was before it came apart.

tonka

I've been doing some work on my Corsair "Marine Flight Demonstration Team" bird... wow,,I am having to reinforce the wing joints with styrene strips...I'm trying to get as smooth a seam as possible, even cut off the drop tank/bomb mounts...But went a little too far on the wings and there was nothing to glue to besides the very thin wing edges...

I'll get some pics up soon. I really want to start on the paint,, as I have never seen a "Flying Devil Dog" plane modeled before...
