Okay I'll put you down for the bearcat.

Rich

Hmm, is ok if i enter with my bearcat? Painting it up as a racer called bamboo bandit. Black and white like a panda bear with sharkmouth on the front, bamboo stalk trailing from the mouth and racing numbers. The only off the shelf decals will be the sharkmouth stolen from my F-100.

Its a Hobbycraft 1:48 F8F-1B bearcat.

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

Allrightythen.  Put me down for the Blackbird.  I'll need some time to get the kit and since assembly will be pretty easy and old news to most folks here ( my guess is mmost folks here have built an SR-71 kit at some point or other ) I'll check back with general updates on construction but wait til I'm at the painting phase to start documenting WIP pics.

No it does not have to be accurate or even normal.  We want creative.  Think of what a certain aircraft would be like if some rich artist bought it and wanted it to have the most outlandish markings as possible.  Although using some other aircraft's scheme from a different era would also be acceptable. :)  Basically..  Make it cool, and wild...

Kugai

Okay, I may have an idea that will fit, but there's one question, just to be sure.  Does it have to be a historical pattern of some type, just not matching the particular plane, or would any "wild" pattern including something from SF be allowed.

I have an idea for an SR-71 with a certain, very colorful paint scheme if the latter is the case.  If not, I'll keep trying to think of something else.

No problem..

And guys...

My Computer is acting up badly, so if you don't hear from me for a day or two at some point, that's why.

Kugai

If it's okay with you, I might try to get into this one later after I get some other GB commitments done.  I would also have to come up with an idea that fits the rules, since the first thing that came to mind was a fictional mecha/plane and not anything from reality.

Honestly I think some of the RAF's WWII schemes would look pretty great on a biplane. The green/gray disruption scheme of ETO or the brown/tan of the Med/Italy would both look pretty slick.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

CallSignOWL

hey RRB, you should do a modern digital-pixel scheme on the biplane!

the real red baron

that might be a bit compicated to paint but thanks for the suggstion

The paint job wouldnt be all that complicated, not much different from a 3 color camo. But the masking would take a bit of time.
