Propeller I played around with the finished model, making it zoom around the back yard:

Ms Owl: truely unique markings for the Wart Hog.  Very nice "action" shots, too.  Did you make "zoom, zoom" sounds as you flew around the back Yard?  Are the neighbors used to that?

Looks great!  Well done.

Vetteman- Great looking Mustang. Looking great so far.

Owl- Outstanding Hog!!! Very cool. I really like the paint sceme.

Kermit- THAT"S the kit I was looking for. It has the decals I want. Oh well.

I've been at work so I haven't been able to work on the Tomcat. Not looking forward to fighting with that resin gun.

 vetteman42:

Owl and Kermit both building A-10s !!!!!!!!!!!! I am loving this.

I've been umming and ahhing over an A-10 for a while now. I've got a Trumpeter 1/32 A-10 Thunderbolt II sitting in an online 'cart'. I am holding off 'checkout' for the moment. It's mighty tempting!

http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i438/smcintyre11/A-10/a10boxart.jpg

This kit also has a resin engine. YUM!

Cheers

Hey Casper, if you do that A-10 you gotta let us know how it builds. I'd love to build that kit.

Owl, you have a really nice A-10 thereYes. Great job!Toast

Randy, that's a nice Mustang kit and builds up beautifully OOB . My only problems were the fit around belly scoop as mentioned but more so around the removable/pose-able panel on the lower chin in front of the wing.  The only other thing about the Revellogram P-51s is the lack of poseable flaps . Not really a hard fix though, and if one poses a Mustang that's sat for for very long the flaps and inner gear doors will droop.

One of the best "candid" poses for the Mustang would be one flap and/or gear door dropping more or less than the other as they the hydraulic pressure didn't always bleed of evenly.2 cents

Ok. Got the gun and nose attached. That was not fun. My first attempt got the nose glued on in the wrong position. Had to take it off (scary) and reattach it. Here's the pics of before.

And pics of it reattached. Had to add some styrene into a gap under the resin gun. Lots of filling and sanding to come next.

Medicman: You've got some nasty seams to deal with, too.

I'm thinking about draping a camo net over the seams on my T-62's aux fuel tanks.  Sometimes "hiding the problem" is an appropriat technique.

Your's is coming along nicely.

Part of the problem with all those bad seams is the True Details resin cockpit. It got in the way of the nose gear roof. I sanded the crap out of the bottom but it still got in the way. That's the reason for the gaps. Oh well, call it a learning experiance.

I dunno CallSignOwl me thinks Kermie is gonna have his work cut out for him keeping the bar you set for the A-10. Yours is magnificent, just wish I could have heard the sound effects that went along with its photo-shoot in your backyard. There is lots of that that goes on in the mancave Stick out tongue, sound effects that is, ever wandered how a P-51 would fair against a Tomcat in a dogfight ? Actually if I had flightsims I think it would be an interesting pairing. Hey did ya notice I didnt call it a hog ???  Awwww man I did it again geeze Embarrassed

actually ive done somrhting similar, P-40N vs. Tomcat.

P-40N - piloted by me (red baron), got 9 kills.
Tomcat - piloted by some guy from Asia, got 8 kills and crashed once.

Owl the Hog is is an awesome build and I'd fly it in any neighborhood! Yes  Come to think of it, they could use an A-10 in Chicago right now.  Really like your paint scheme on this one.

Hey peeps,

Just popping by to show a little WIP stuff. Basic construction is pretty much done and i am doing some last filling and masking stuff as we speak. I chose to have this one displayed with opened up canopy, stairs attached and pilot inside so i did not attach the canopyGeeked.

Lots of hardpoints on this oneCool... Still trying to decide wether or not to load her up. I did assemble some ordnance...:

Also along the way i made the brilliant choice of having the airbrakes cut up and closed. I almost wish i didn't...lots of work on that area. Plus to make matters worse i boo boo'ed Ick! and tried to glue stuff the wrong way round causing some nasty marksEmbarrassed. Revell styrene glue is pretty agressive ya know... Will sort it out tho.:

More to follow soonWink
