MAJ Mike- I already have one in mind but I haven't had the chance to make one.  I don't have PhotoShop but my wife does and I haven't used it before so she will help me create the badge.  Here's what I have in mind... pick a great picture OR blueprint drawing of  Pz III.  Then insert large font sized roman numerals III.  Then have chop the rest of picture outside the numbers off leaving only the picture/drawing inside the numbers.   Hope you understand what I am trying to describe... Stick out tongue

Chazzer-  Looks like we are going to have a competition.  My order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow via Fed Ex.  Big Smile

Andy, I just ordered Legends Stug III stowage set. I'm still looking for a good deal on the Modelkasten tracks.

I can't wait for the Brown truck!

Hey, Andy!

Can you tease us with a preview of the much sought-after Panzer III and Its Variants GB badge?

I am with you guys... six weeks to go. Tongue Tied

Last night I finally ordered the kit Cyber-Hobby Pz III Ausf E/F Orange box as it was on sale from Sprue Brothers for $27.49.  Couldn't wait until my birthday next month... I will just tell my beloved I just brought myself an early birthday gift. Wink  Of course I had to order something else, I bought this figures set for only $9.99 and I might use for my Pz III.  Four nice looking figures for that price was impossible for me to resist...

Have a great day!

Hi guys,

SWEET! I've just been to the LHS and as I'd hoped, my Tamiya Panzer III Ausf. N is in so I'm ready to go! The kit looks superb and I've got a load of spares from the StuG's left over too!

Here's my kit (the box art is Leningrad Winter). It's like the StuG III B kit in as far as the sprues are VERY similar (obviously) and it comes with an Aluminium barrel and PE grills.

I've finished my WIP StuG and just have the base left to do. I'm going to spend the time between completion of the base and the figure working on Panzer III research and getting some extra stowage together.

I've decided (I think) on the Kursk Summer paint scheme which is a Dunky base with random vertical lines of red/brown and dark green. It look good. I'm going to try the figure too as he looks superb.

I'm going to tighten my belt and not use Friuls. I'm either going to try the MK tracks or the vinyl kit tracks. I know the vinyl kit tracks are no good as you can't get decent sag onto them BUT as I've got a total of 3 pairs of Tamiya Panzer III kit tracks I was thinking of using the spare track lengths and carefully cutting them and adding cut pieces from the spare tracks to make them a bit longer. That way I can use CA, glue them firmly into place and hopefully get sag?

Otherwise I'm trying MK's.

I can't wait until the GB start date. Seriously - I don't think I can!

Should work out just fine!

I've been pawing through the kit boxes for the Pz.Beobs.Wg. and the StuG A...must wait until July, must wait until July. Hehehe.

Guys- I have updated the lists on first page. Not many gaps left now but doubt few will ever be filled because of kits unavailability or require expensive resin kits.

dupes- Instead of typing (secondary) I am using (2nd) because it saves space.  Hope it works out.  Thanks again for your support. Beer

Terry35- Got you down as maybe for CB StuG III Ausf G 'Bose'. Yes

Chazzer-  Check evilBay... got nine hits when I typed Stug III Stowage few minutes ago.  I agree with dupes that it shouldn't be a major issue to use Ausf E on your Ausf B.   I ordered Stowage Set from Verliden for my Chaffee and I only used liked 1/3 of set... I found the set to be way overloaded so I will save them for future builds.

Also I used Modelkasten tracks for my Tamiya StuG III Ausf B and it was a perfect fit since I was not a big fan of rubberbands.  I am not too sure about AFV tracks... saw mixed reviews so better look further into this before you order it.

I'm assuming that the Legend set you're looking at for the StuG III is 1149? It appears to be for a later (probably G) version, but no doubt you could adapt it to a B without too many issues.

Keep in mind - you don't have to use all of it on one build! That's a lot of resin!

The fun continues! I'm lovin' this stuff! I'm having  fun doing lot of surfing'. I don't want to make any boo-boos by buying the wrong stuff so: I found some AVF tracks for Panzer IIIs and Panzer IVs. They are workable and I like the price. (From Sprue Brothers). Will they fit my Stug III "B"? Thanks Mike. They are out of that stowage set. I did find a stowage set for the Stug III at Lucky Models. Thanks Dupes. Will that set fit my "B"? Or should I just use what fits? I know I sound needy but you guys are the ones who know. THANK YOU

My source for all things Legend - Lucky Model. Cheaper, and free shipping, to boot! http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=LF1164 Their stowage sets are huge - can easily do 2-3 builds with one.

This what I got to go with mine, but they're sold out.  Might be available at other stores.

Hey guys, I'm looking for aftermarket pieces for my "B". There are lots of stuff for the "G". As Most of you know the kit comes with an aluminium barrel and PE parts. I would really like to try my hand at some aftermarket stowage etc. I have absolutely no skills at scratch building. I' already having fun and we haven't even started! Cool. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. By the way I did check with Scale Hobbyist Tamiya, and Verlinden. I might have missed something.

ogrejohn & bobbaily-  Glad things worked out.  I am using my mother-in-laws' laptop so I will update the roster list later tonight or tomorrow when I have the chance.  Bob, I got you down StuG III Ausf F and BOTH of you for Strum only as a secondary if time permits.

dupes- Thanks for the tip buddy!  It is my first attempt running a GB... I have been part of five GBs in the past so any help would be helpful.  I promise you I will not disappear because some of you know where I live... I look forward to follow your WIP on Beob.  Man, I have to learn how to spell those words...

I will update the list and add (secondary) to those when I have the chance.  Latest count of secondary build stands at seven.

Terry- You know you are more than welcome to join us.  It looks like StuG III Ausf G will be very popular.  Always liked its look and I have one from DML in the stash.  Will add you to list as a maybe.  Will it help to get you join us if we agree to talk more about how good Irish beer are... Wink

Happy Mother's Day... starting tomorrow we can start counting days til the Father's Day.  I have a kit that I want my boys to get me... CB Pz III Ausf E for this GB.

Hi, Andy I'm highly tempted to join especially with the start up date. I was to start on Dales Stug GB but it ends well before I could get a chance to start. I have a Stug III the Bose one from Dragon expo '09 or something that I'm itching to get stuck into.

The best thing to do is put me down as a maybe and I will let you know well before the start.

Terry.

As far as my build(s), I've been researching the Pzbeobswg quite a bit - looks like it will be a straight dunkelgelb paint scheme (which I've never tried before)...looking into making a wooden barrel for the "fake" armament. Also checking into a possible PE set? I don't think there's one specifically for this variant, but I'm sure I could adapt one of the other Imperial-Series III sets.

Andy - from past experience, if you're really looking to hit each variant, your best odds are to have everyone sign up for a "primary" build, with secondaries listed some other way like (secondary). That way you keep the possibly uncovered models open for new participants. Just my 2 cents. I know with 1,000 Roadwheels we ran into a lot of people running out of time, leaving the forum, etc etc over such a long build span. Of course, anyone was free to throw in a second (or third...or FIFTH) build if time allowed.

ogrejohn

Bobbaily- So far ogrejohn has signed up as his second build only if time permits.  So either you want to help him out or reconsider your options.  If you are into StuGs like some of us, Ausf B, E and F are still untaken.

Thanks Andy-I'll wait and see what Ogrejohn says-if he wants to go with the Strum, great and I'll take the StuG F....or we could have two Strum's....yeah...that might be the ticket....

Not a problem. I was going to do it as a second build but, giving my usual glacial speed building, I don't know if I'd be able to finish it.

Thanks for the info Orgejohn-I think I'll start with the StuG F though-like you, I might add the Strum as a second build but we'll wait and see...

Andy-please put me down for the 1/35 Cyber Hobby StuG F Orange Box kit.  I won't be starting until late summer/early fall, but it will get done....

Satch ip-  Thanks for the link!  I got you down for both Flammpanzer and Pz III G.  Always a big fan of Afrika Korps.  That's what I am thinking about doing for my Ausf E if it served in North Africa.

MAJ Mike- Please get me a Beer.  Looking forward to your excellent service...

Chazzer-  Way to go!  Trust me you will enjoy this build.  It was solid and easy build.  Be careful with its periscope because it was fragile so assemble it last.  Also, I would glue the 'L' shaped brass PE holding the antenna in the rear at the end because it snapped few times during the assembling stage.

But it is still one of my favorite builds... feel free to check my thread in Turretless GB  /forums/p/129514/1311468.aspx#1311468 and of course Hinksy's as he is working on it right now.

Rob- I know... way too tempting to buy a kit every time we see a sale going on or a very good build.  Right now I am tempted to buy PzJager I and you know why... Big Smile

Bouncy 8  I'm in! Put me down for the Stug III Ausf "B". What a nice Tamiya kit. It's got an aluminum barrel and some PE intakes. I also picked up Tamiya's PE grille. Very exited, can't wait to start!

Chazzer!!  Got an e-mail from Dragon today.  They have "Buy one, get one 1/2 price" sale on selected models and there's a Panzer III for less than $30 and a StuG III in the same price range.  Check the sale details, that would be something to consider.  We don't start until 1 July. Big Smile

Wow!

What a great response!

When Andy mentioned a possible Panzer III GB I thought it would be popular - this could be one awesome build.

Nice to see folk already getting kit's in too. I've got my Pz III Ausf. N on order and then I'll look at getting the StuG III C/D ordered later on in the year depending how much time and effort I manage to cram in the Ausf. N.

I'm really looking forward to this getting started Yes
