Thanks satch and shellback perfect shot. I gotta redo the side plates they don't look right at all. Shellback think you could shot one around where you added the wire fore the headlamp? I can't figure where it goes back to the hull. Thanks for the help!

Well i researched and the best i can come up with is what i did below .

About those side plates , see if these pics help .

Hi guys, just dropping by to see whats going on and I must say that I'm truly impressed.

Carl, another whopper job on those smoke dischargers, couldn't notice anything not right but they look great to me.

Rob, the interior of your stug is most impressive and those are the exact colours I'm aiming for.

Ben that looks great, in the short time you have been at the hobby you are improving leaps and bounds, keep it up.

Greg, lovely etch work, looking forward to seeing your next instalment.

Hope to be joining you guys soon.

Terry.

I have to say Ditto to everything he said above... you guys are doing outstanding work.  I love weekends when we get to see alot of WIPs posted. Big Smile

Keep them coming! Yes

Actually I picked these up for a sum of 24.95 each through facebook. Not bad,I really only wanted the Panzer III but when I showed the deal to the wife she said I would be a fool not to get both. You gotta love a woman who knows a good deal when she sees it.

Greg- I love how you build your kits... way too many details.  You are a freak but in a great way!  Any chance can we swap our wives?  I don't think my wife is going to let me order another kit for a very long time after spending a fortune at Michigan Toys Soldier Company during our vacation last week.  It was definitely one of best hobby shops I have been to so far...

Looking forward to your next update! Beer

Guys. The work going on in here is just stupid-good. Have to admit, I was getting a bit of a big head about my armor abilities coming off my Pz.IV, but wiring the smoke cans? The interior detail I'm seeing? Heck, I'm still banging my head dealing with more of the dreaded D24/D25 hook things.

The Spitfire's underside is curing for the next couple of days (enamels...), so in the meantime I've been able to bang away at the Vorpanzer. Here's where it stands at the moment. Apologies for the weird color shifts. The iPhone's metering system, to borrow a phrase from a British coworker I had once upon a time, "sucks very hard indeed".

The spaced armor on the mantlet is just sitting in place right now...I'm planning to paint it and the areas it'll be covering first, then attach it and paint the rest of the tank. Same for the hull armor. Also got crackin' on the wheels. Sanding sucks. Very hard indeed.

If you are having posting replies to the forums from any apple portable devices then this may be the answer.

1. Click reply to post.
2. If you cannot type in a reply then just close the page / browser.
3. Type out your reply in the notes feature of your device.
4. Select all - cut or copy ( that's your choice)
5. Press the home button twice on the device and a scrollable list of previous apps will appear.
6. Now this is why I did not say close fine scale just the browser. Tap in the reply box and a paste option should appear, simply click paste and then tap the usual reply button.

This has been typed on the following devices linked together

IPhone 3 gs
IPod (3rd. Gen)
IPad 2 / Wi-Fi and 3G

I hope this helps anybody with apple/ Mac portable devices.

Terry.

Terry- Thank you for the tip!  I got a iPad for free... raffle prize at some conference.  I was diappointed to learn that I couldn't make comments except to surf and feedback has been shared with the 'Managemen't.  Definitely will try this... I find it is easier to use iPad at my workbench.

Doogs- Your Vorpanzer is starting to look like a tank now... don't everybody love dealing with the wheels?

Awesome is the word that comes to my mind as I look at the works in progressYesYesI am putting a link here to my Panzer III G.B. album.

http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w1/g-earl828/Panzer%20III%20and%20variants/

Hope it works, you may be able to view other builds in my albums also.

A bit more progress some primer later and tracks.Kind of tempting to use the Panzer III ausf.N smart kit I just got for the berge donor. The gears of decision are turning. The berge III looks good sitting next to its future stable mate an un-finished berge IV.

Hey all qoutes comments and questions are always welcome.

Hey folks,

Andy: A good result with the i-pad. My buudy at work has one and it's pretty impressive. I see you have the collection of 'The Vietnam Experience' magazines. I have the full collection of them in two of the proper binders - I bought them of some guy who I used to work with for a tenner! Best ten pounds I've ever spent Wink

A quick WIP update:

The SIG is coming along really well now. The spare wheels are on, the Axe and Jack are fitted is on (the only tools that the build guide calls for but I may add some extra stuff as stowage), the decals are on and the first SIN 'Blue for Panzer Grey' Filter is on. I've given her a misting of Vallejo Acrylic gloss as I'm planning lots of streaks etc and during this week I'll add a few extra layers of Filter prior to weathering next weekend.

Thanks for looking guys,

There will be the usual WIP update next weekend.

Have a good week chaps!

Greg, insane, but amazing work.

Ben, dog gone it, you're really making me hope that Dragon makes a new Smart Kit of this guy. I would probably go for the Orange Box, but Dragon always seems to get around to upgrading old kits.

Hey Ben that looks good,it's going pretty fast too.

Cheers guys!

It was a simple and quick build so I'm going to really try and push my limits as far as the weathering goes.

I'm planning lots of streaking and pigment work and I'd like to get the hang of dot filtering on this thing too.

Ben- Again looking real good. Yes  Take your time and you will do great applying filters to your SIG.  I brought four different AK washers last week and I can't wait to try them on my Panzer IV.

Greg- Now it is really looking good with paint on.  If it was my tank I would have turned it into a land sailboat!  Beer

CARL - Thank you much for the explanation on the glazing putty.  Will pick up a tube and try it out.  Always intrested in new material to wok with.

DOOGS - Thats a nice clean build!  Looks like she went right togther for you.  Did the kit come with the aluminium barrel or was that an AM item?

BEN - That sure is a sweat pallet for some heavy weathering.  Look forward to you putting your Sturm 33 through the ringer.

GREG - I'm a bit jealous, that Ausf N is the kit i've been wanting.  How does she look, what do you think of it?  Your build is coming along nicely!  Like the color!  What paint, color did you use?

BILL - Great too have you.  What did you plan on building?  Did not see you on the roster, is Andy on vacation again or is he drinking all of that Canadian Beer Surprise

Here is what the weekend produced.

This is the first WIP with my new camera and still do not have it figured out so not to happy with the pictures.  Sure miss the old days of point and shoot.  Anyway, all parts are attached in the upper casmate and the deck to the hull.  Radios still need the headsets wired to them.  Trying to figure out what, how to make the headsets.  Here is the gun.

Had to sand the front portion so that it would slide into the gun mantel, the sanded part will not show.  The last part here was made from 3/32" styrene rod and some scrap PE material.  It fits in and looks good but have not figured out how to get it in being that I need the casemate glued on before gluing in the pipe.  Once the casemate and gun is in place not sure if there will be room to manuver the pipe into place Bang Head  This is the part if talking of.

Rob - WOW! That interior's looking amazing! Alas I'm in something of a major aircraft kick at the moment (with this Tamiya Spit, it's hard to be otherwise!), but when the pendulum swings back more toward armor I definitely want to tackle something like that and pull it off half as well as you've done!

As for the Ausf. L - barrel's aftermarket. Picked up it and a barrel for the E/F for something like $7 combined. Helped spread around some shipping costs. That and I'm a sucker for aluminum barrels.
