Everytime I think I know what I'm going to get, something else pops in my head. I vote for a half-track group build when this is finished, even though you could build one for this. LOL Oh Larry, I wish you woulda said gun build. Aaarggh.

If it Robert, and I was thinking it might be, then I wouldn't touch it with 10 ft. exacto knife.

The italeri demag is just a repackaged revell model (that's what I've been told anyways)
their nebelwerfer I don't know anytihng about. I assume the combo is just the packaging of these two units. THe demag is a nice model, but I don't know anything about the neberwerfer

I've done the kit and its not that bad.I think they cleaned up the molds or retooled them.I didn't think it was to bad a kit.-----------Stephen

I agree, it's not a bad kit at all. Even the originall revell kit was fairly decent, with semi-individual track links, good panel lines, good definition on the parts. I may actually end up building that for this build. Not sure yet tho

it's on pg. 18 of upload gallery, another 'in progress' shot.
i actually started this kit awhile back but i needed the weekend group build & this one 2 help motivate me 2 work on it some more !
BTW, this is a braille scale item, the completed dio will b about 6 inches square.
i apologize 4 starting early, i guess i'm not the only 1 tho' ! Big Smile [:D]

Lol, yeah I'm awful tempted to start too. Gotta start the M1A1 first though, and finish it before I start any of these.
I put together some pieces of the flak 43,so maybe I'll go with that being towed by the demag
Hey frosty, do you want to post a link where we can see?

NOW I'VE DONE IT!!! [:0]

I've been a little excited about this group build (it'll be my first one). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to check in recently and participate in these discussions (little thing called the Ph.D. Candidacy exams got in the way, but that's behind me now Big Smile [:D]

Anyways, I've been so excited about this that I can't seem to stop buying kits! A few weeks ago, I picked up the two german AA guns I mentioned in an earlier post (the Flak 37 and Flakverling 38, along with the British Universal weapons carrier). Then I was in Hobby lobby on an errand for the wife, and I picked up a Pak 40. THEN I was BACK in Hobby Lobby (just because this time) and I picked up the British Quad tractor and 25 pounder!

I've got two problems right now: first, I don't know which kit(s) to build for this group build and, second, if this thing doesn't start soon, my wife will divorce me and I'll be broke from buying new towed arty kits! April 1 can't get here soon enough! Tongue [:P]

Hey, anyone got any good references for any of the above (preferably online ones, so I don't have to pay for books... I do want to keep my wife, afterall... Wink [;)]

Boyd, since you have so many kits that qualify for the build, just build one now, but it won't count towards the group build. You'll still have more to choose from.

Thanks Zokissima and Stephen for your comments. It just got harder. Too many choices. Is the Revell Demag available anywhere? I was thinking maybe that towing a Pak 38.

That is pretty much what I had decided to do this afternoon. I have to be out of town tomorrow and I'll be staying in a motel. I think I'll bring the flak 37 with me and veg out in front of the TV in my room, get some take out, and build the -37. That outta whet my appetite until April.... Big Smile [:D]

The revell demag should be readily available. At least it is here in the great white north. I've seen it in every hobby shop I've been in here for the last couple of months.

He guys, sorry for the lack of posts in the past two weeks, my parents were out of town, therefore, no internet, no Forums! But I'm back and I'm definately doing the Demag with nebelwerfer plus a couple more nebelwefers and a Opel truck for a dio. The Germans would be setting up their position and unloading ammo. how's it sound?

Meanwhile ive been working on an Ost (eastern) Front flak 36 and a Hanomag, and just finished my first three dios, hopefully I can post some pics. i'm also getting a jump start on a project for school (it hasnt been assigned yet but it will be) The project will be on the Roman empire, so I'm building a 1/72 scale Roman vs Gallic battlefield

Sorry to write such a long post but I'm glad I'm back,

Hi guys.

I think I failed to mention that I will be doing Tamiya's German 88mm Gun Flak 36/37. It is an old kit with (I heard) lots of inaccuracies. The Tamiya Factory here in the Philippines is currently producing it and I got one a month ago. It includes 9 figures so a dio is a big possibility.

Still looks good for an old kit. And I am going to build it OOB in Flak 36 version. Boy, I can't wait to start this one, too.

You got it right about the price Tigerman. Got it for about 12 Dollars here. Already a good price for a Tamiya product. Latest Tamiya products usually sell for about 20 Dollars on the average. Their M1A2 sells for about 21 Dollars here. I wonder how much their Leo 2 A6 will be cause that's the one that I am interested into.

Can't seem to locate an 88 around here when I have the money! Sad [:(]
I did manage to grab a 20mm Flak 38 that should look good behind the 251/1 on the shelf, still gonna finish the 25 pdr/FGT during the build too.

Yeah the 88mm looks really nice when finished. I just gone one as well. Don't know if that's what I'll be doing for the GB, but I just wanted to pick one up. Got the 8t halftrack to tow it as well. Both kits are of nice enough quality. I don't know anything about the accuracies of them. The only thing I don't like about the halftrack is the fact that the rear portion of the body is a one piece moulding, and the lower chasis is also a one piece moulding, which means some tedious masking when it comes to painting. To be honest, I like the quality of the tamiya parts, but I REALLY hate the chasis of their trucks (at least the one's I've buil, including the dragon wagon) being moulded as a single piece.

I have built the demag and posted pics also. It is a great build.

I received my Russian Tank Riders and the Russian Scouts/Snipers from DML to add to my Dneiper Defense Dio

Still waiting to start :)

It's cool that you all are being so patient. I'd be started already if I wasn't hopelessly behind on other builds. Sad [:(]

hahaha, patient, yeah right. You think if I wasn't allready building something I'd be waiting till APRIL(!!!) to start building this?
I can't start one thing without finishing what I'm working on, so until I finish my current project, start and finish the M1 build, no work will get done for this one

i have no problem 'multi-tasking'
or forgetting abt one thing and jumping to another.
but i just cut down my models in progress from 4 to 2.
so i want to whittle that a bit more before starting this.
and since there is 5 weeks before the start . . . .

by then this thread will be 40 pages long!
everyone will b before the start date.
:-)

Yeah I might be a little bit of a late starter. Still have to decide what I'll actually build. I'm down to two definite choices, but I want to be sure, as I'll be placing them in a dio probably.
