Been away from the computer and home for a while, but have managed to get some more work done on both the SU-37 and 47.

This pic shows the kit provided landing gear parts, once again there is no detail.

and this is what I have done to get some more detail into the kit.  Sadly an old SU-34 kit donated a nose langing gear, but since the kit had been relegated to the shelf of doom ( missing a bunch of parts)

 

I will be finishing all the small bits and then get to weathering soon.  And then full blast on the SU-47!!

Here is a pic to show that I have actually started on the second one as well.

Looking good Matt!   Need to get back on my Flanker, hoping for some primer to be laid down this weekend.

I haven't figured out which missiles to arm that beast with.  And After looking at the interior of the F-22 Bay I can see that I have a ton more scratch building to complete before I will be satisfied with the look.

thanks for the kind words.  I have completed the Su-37, thanks to some kind "donations" from my older Revell kit (sad to say it didnt survive the fall from the shelf it was resting on), that I think adds to the unique look that I was going for.  All in all I am satisfied with the results.  I will try to get some pictures posted tomorrow night to prove it!!!!

Blkhwkmatt, I'd just run some wiring through there, give it all a good wash and call it a day... once you pack it full of boom, there shouldn't be much left to see.

Lots of inactivity here on my side, but I managed to throw some paint on my 1/72 Su-27B mule yesterday... still have to finish that as I had to hold it somewhere and the tail fins make a good grab handle!   On the good news side of life, I looked at my stalled 1/32 UB for about 30 seconds... and then worked on something else.

Well, building it in your brain counts as progress of some sort. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. ;)

Ive actually finished my flanker, but the finished pics are trapped on my mother's camera right now, so.....

I remember that you said that you had your stash all built up using that method...  I keep visualizing a display case to see how they look finished- it's an awesome collection I've got going!

Sounds like your brain might look like ModelManiac's showroom (if you never saw his photos, man what a collection!).

I'm calling this one done!  This is the Zvezda 1/72nd Su-37 Super Flanker, kit was poor fitting overall, had raised panel lines and little to no fine detail.  Due to the missiles being so crude and the fins as thick as the outer wing, the weapons load is donated from my old Su-27 and Su-34 that have both not survived. 

I added some detail to the wheel wells, to the landing gear(completely replacing the nose gear), sanded down the raised surface detail and rescribed most of the panel lines along with a rivet maker for the panel lines

On subject of Zvezda kits I'm building a Hind Mi-24A, the kit looks good and was expecting something special at $28 for 1/72

Sadly despite its good looking detail  & lots of parts the fit is proving to be a handful and I'm losing interest - will stick to 1/48 or big bombers in smaller scale

Maybe will start my Flanker soon?

And Matt is across the finish line!  I like the colour combination on the topsides.

It looks basically like a flanker, but overall the quality is very poor.  It is very ill fitting, any detail that is there is grossly overscale and raised (I rescribed all the panel lines).  Nothing fit well the first 5 times that I dryfitted the parts so there is a lot of sanding and trimming and scraping involved.  I dont remember the purchase price for the kit, but I can say that what they are selling for now is way too high.

However, if you are looking for a kit that will challenge your skills and gives you a basic blank slate for detailing, this is a good kit.  With a lot more effort than I felt inclined to put in, this could be made into a decent representation of the Flanker.

Hey, progress!   My little feline accomplices have been all too eager to 'help' me this last week as well...  low 40's at night tends to make them really affectionate.

Yep, when the electric heaters finally get turned on, that one can routinely be found asleep, leaned right into the heater in my daughters bedroom. How on earth that thing hasn't caught fire yet I'll never know...

so, i resumed the 34 despite this chaos:

Some bending and break on the ip cover was performed  too low the eightness of it, also the crude ip on it

Added more details on the cockpit
