Yes, I've seen that one too.  I'm blown away by the fact that they use such a small carrier to operate such a large and powerful AC.   Not a lot of real estate to use before you have to punch out.

Construction has begun! I picked this kit up at IPMS nat's for $31 (at half off) and there is NO WAY this kit is worth the $60 MSRP price tag. Simple/nonexistent detail, iffy fit....I guess the added cost came from the meager PE fret and updated decals? Anywho...here it goes

an example of the poor detail. Good thing PE and decals were included to spruce it up

I added seat belts to make it look a bit more busy, here's the completed office!

clamps needed to help secure the fit

more soon!

Looks good so far, Owl.  It also looks suspiciously like an Italeri re-pop...   Are you still thinking of a custom scheme?

No current work on my big kit due to another GB, but I've gotten the 1/72 paint mule close to done..  it is crudely done- no seam or gap filling, minimal sanding, etc.  It exists solely to test paint colors and masking efforts.

Owl, it takes a real modler to pull off purple clamps with a gray plastic, but with your sence of style you sure pulled it off

Seriously the job looks to be comming along realy well and

the cockpit decals and painting sure did the job

Revenge- here's a great link to pretty much every operational scheme used by countries that fly the Flanker-

http://www.mars.slupsk.pl/fort/sukhoi/

And to give an idea on how some of them look on a model-

Here's the kicker- when ANYONE completes their Flanker I'll send them one of these 1/350 birds for FREE as a thank you for participating.  All you have to do is finish it and PM me your address.

How's that for a deal?Wink

Well i have started my build and its going quite well pretty much non existant detail main gear area and not a very good fit for the cockpit tub but so far i have the wings on and i have decided to use a twist of the t-50 splinter paint scheme with a hint of the su-37 scheme so basicly the colours frome the t-50 and the digital splinter of the terminator cant figure out how to post photos as im on my phone and dont have a pc but will try over the next couple of days

Contrary to popular belief, I have NOT fallen off the edge of the earth. Something odd has happened up here... SUMMER!! Just had some vacation that I planned on getting some bench tie in with & ended up out of town for most of it. Presently picking away at small assemblies etc. on my various projects & hoping to make some real progress before too much longer.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

Summer, it's a bummer.   I lost a week's worth of build time when I went on vacation recently...  and I didn't even look for an LHS while I was in California (but I bought online for another GB!).

That is a fantastic scheme and a pretty model ! I hope all the others are as interesting. I'm going to have to check my kit now to see what schemes are available.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Revenge, there's an "F-series" GB over in the Aircraft forum that's open to all post-1953 Russian aircraft that start with an F..  that MiG would go nicely in there if you choose to join.
