Yes, I've seen that one too. I'm blown away by the fact that they use such a small carrier to operate such a large and powerful AC. Not a lot of real estate to use before you have to punch out.
Construction has begun! I picked this kit up at IPMS nat's for $31 (at half off) and there is NO WAY this kit is worth the $60 MSRP price tag. Simple/nonexistent detail, iffy fit....I guess the added cost came from the meager PE fret and updated decals? Anywho...here it goes
an example of the poor detail. Good thing PE and decals were included to spruce it up
I added seat belts to make it look a bit more busy, here's the completed office!
clamps needed to help secure the fit
more soon!

Now that I'm here, where am I??
Looks good so far, Owl. It also looks suspiciously like an Italeri re-pop... Are you still thinking of a custom scheme?

It could be, who knows......
and yup, still doing a custom scheme!
Can't wait to see it finished!
No current work on my big kit due to another GB, but I've gotten the 1/72 paint mule close to done.. it is crudely done- no seam or gap filling, minimal sanding, etc. It exists solely to test paint colors and masking efforts.
Revenge- jump on in, we'll be glad to have ya.
"H-bomb of a son" gonna have to remember that one.
Owl, it takes a real modler to pull off purple clamps with a gray plastic, but with your sence of style you sure pulled it off
Seriously the job looks to be comming along realy well and
the cockpit decals and painting sure did the job
Steve
Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
My sea flanker arrived today at first look it seems to dry fit quite well the kit seems quite simple not much detail in the cockpit tub and not decided on a paint scheme yet either cant decide between a blue grey and white scheme or a tan yellow and brown scheme or even the light grey dark grey and white i know that im gonna do a digital splinter but cant decide the colours please help.
Revenge- here's a great link to pretty much every operational scheme used by countries that fly the Flanker-
http://www.mars.slupsk.pl/fort/sukhoi/
And to give an idea on how some of them look on a model-
Here's the kicker- when ANYONE completes their Flanker I'll send them one of these 1/350 birds for FREE as a thank you for participating. All you have to do is finish it and PM me your address.
How's that for a deal?
Well i have started my build and its going quite well pretty much non existant detail main gear area and not a very good fit for the cockpit tub but so far i have the wings on and i have decided to use a twist of the t-50 splinter paint scheme with a hint of the su-37 scheme so basicly the colours frome the t-50 and the digital splinter of the terminator cant figure out how to post photos as im on my phone and dont have a pc but will try over the next couple of days
Hey dre those 1/350's are awesome im guessing by the cent that your in the states im live in the uk so it will cost you loads to send me one of those so im gonna have to make my flanker awesome so it deserves the postage
It doesn't have to awesome, just finished!
Well for me this build is going quite well all of the fuselage and wing assembly done under carrige assembled but not in place as im gonna paint the fuselage first scheme decided its gonna be a custom one with use of the schemes that are in use still cant figure how to put photos up with my posts if someone knows id be more than greatful but i dont have a cpu just my phone
Contrary to popular belief, I have NOT fallen off the edge of the earth. Something odd has happened up here... SUMMER!! Just had some vacation that I planned on getting some bench tie in with & ended up out of town for most of it. Presently picking away at small assemblies etc. on my various projects & hoping to make some real progress before too much longer.
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
Summer, it's a bummer. I lost a week's worth of build time when I went on vacation recently... and I didn't even look for an LHS while I was in California (but I bought online for another GB!).
I hear you, hoping to turn a weekend run to my wife's grandparents into a LHS visit along the way.
Well today was a good day had it off from work so spent a whole day on the flanker and am nearly finnished all thats really left is to attach antenna's canopy under carrige missiles and afterburner cans finnished paint this evening still cant figure out how to post photos might have to just put one in the galleries section anyways if not i will have to email one to dre and maybe he can post it for me cheers
Revenge- I don't know how to post pics from a phone either, but if you send them to me I'll get them up here.
I'll send you a PM with an email to use.
Cool cheers man you have an email with the pics included cant wait to see them on here
This is Revenge_Artist1988's Su-27K Flanker. He is the second finisher in this GB.
That is a fantastic scheme and a pretty model ! I hope all the others are as interesting. I'm going to have to check my kit now to see what schemes are available.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

l and now im buildinng a thunderbirds f-16d 2 seater
Are you going to enter it in the F-16 GB ? Incidentally I bought a Thunderbirds F-16A during the week.
Unfortunatly not this time its my first atempt at a t-bird so just gonna play with this and enter my 1/32 tamiya t-bird maybe i also have a mig-21 coming i used to build them loads as a kid and i found one on ebay for a few quid so i bought it
Revenge, there's an "F-series" GB over in the Aircraft forum that's open to all post-1953 Russian aircraft that start with an F.. that MiG would go nicely in there if you choose to join.
Dre This is Revenge_Artist1988's Su-27K Flanker. He is the second finisher in this GB.
Love that gray-gray-white "Arctic" scheme.
WOW! NICE WORK! hey, in the one pic, he even has the exhaust deflector behind the engines lol
