I got busy with life and school, so there is not HUGE progress, but there is progress nonetheless.

I used some scrap PE and various wire to detail the landing gear and bays

Decaling completed, Most greeblies attached, bomb-bay doors, missile-bay doors etc. Just finished painting the ordinance and started on the exhaust flaps.

Finished the painting on the Raptor fuselage. Also got the gloss coat on as well. Will start with decals on the weekend.

Got some painting done on the Raptor. Got on the main coat of FS36251 (Light Grey) with the striping in FS36375 (Light Ghost Grey). Next are the FS36176 (Dark Grey) camo patches

White is a crappy color (except out of a can) but it looks really good so far.

Have you allready decided which of the 18 markings you're gonna do?

Huge amount of white gloss airbrushing out of the way today. I'd been putting this off for as long as possible because air brushing gloss white is just so fiddly. Oh well had to be done and glad it's out of the way.

Can now move onto other things.

Cockpit of my Revell F-14A.

Once i figured out the bleach lighter fluid wipe. Fine. Resin is a bit more brittle the plastic, and hobby cement doesn't touch it so you have to use CA. But otherwise its not too bad to work with. Sands the same, scrapes the same. Maybe a little more resilient. But its good.

That resin kit looks sweet Mike ,how is it to work with?

So heres my progress so far. Im going to have to pop the exhaust stacks off and shave them down. Theyre too bulbous and in the wrong spot.

The last photos not very clear, but all the black speckles on it, are actually pinholes in the resin. To fill them, i put some filler on my finger, rubbed it in good and hard, then wiped it off with lighter fluid. Came out looking swish.

I've been working on the Tomcat but haven't gotten very far. Ejections seats assembled and primed and some other cockpit pieces ready to go. I'll get some pics up once the office is done.

Had some small success. Wiped the whole aircraft down with bleach then lighter fluid. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then put down a layer of standard tamiya primer. Underside is awesome, upper side, had a few blemishes come up. Theres little pin pricks like air has gotten under the paint or into the resin and is leaking out. Not too sure. But i light sanding and another coat of primer and it should look perfect.

After some research, apparently i have to use something a touch more...reactive? corrosive? that model primer, something more like automotive primer.

But one question though, are you sure that the cockpit is so 'overall' black?
I've never seen a F-22 cockpit except in Ace combat (a game) and those are completly grey...
And they try to make their planes as realistic as possible...

Hey Ninetalis, I haven't really looked at any ref pics for this one but the Academy instructions are exactly as I have painted it. It's pretty similar to most modern US fighters I've built, grey interior with forward and rear canopy shelves black as is the canopy sill.

Scorpio, really, then I have no Idea how it would have to stick,
And I would really like to know to because today I bought the XP-40Q from planet models, 
which is an all resin kit to! I'll look into it,
because I really don't want to screw up that plane and would like to make more than just one to.
Plus, I would love to see your plane come out nice to off course.

I didn't know that they were making a version now that would fly, I really want to see that one actually!

The real thing never flew, it was in the final stages of construction when germany rolled into france. It got stuffed into a shed and forgotten about. It got passed around several times untill it was restored and hung up in the EAA museum at Oshkosh. Theres currently a replica being built which will fly. Theyre using alot of modern materials (Like aluminium rather than magnesium) But they aircraft is effectively the same.
