I wasn't certain, i might just check it out. It must have been a real pain in the butt to park that thing, but i think the pilot has a slightly better view to the rear than the Triebflugel pilot would have.

Hey John087,
Nice work on the Crusader, would be nice if you had posted some WIP pictures to...
Nice work on the detail anyways! Can't believe that's 1/48 actually, it looks way smaller on the photos.

Bish,
I don't know if the Pogo was inspired by the triebflugel design, although they somewhat look alike.
I do love the Pogo, I got the Lindberg kit in my stash, I really wanted to have one of those!
It looks so amazing as a design, Here's a pic of it in flight!

And another pic on Tarmac

With regards, Ninetalis.

john087

Thanks guys, she was a fun but long build.

Bish, I have no idea that you are builing but it sure is "special" and pretty cool.

Thanks john. Its a FW Triebflugel, one of the many late war German designs that never made it off the drawing board. Also one of them they may have inspired others to try the same. I am a big fan of these type of German aircraft, i have quite a few in the stash. But this is the oddest.

This is an American design that was tested, and may well have been inspired by the Triebflugel, but i don't know that for certain.

Nice work all,

Here are pics of my completed Hasagawa F8 Crusader.  I am pretty happy with this one, expecially the bare metal finish around the jet exhaust as well as the main gear bays.

I used Aries Resin sets for the gun bays, refueling probe, cockpit and gear bays.

Enjoy

Thanks

Ye, thats what i normally do with photos. But when it comes to these small pieces, i feel compelled to get up close for some reason. I must remember to restrain myself.

This image is from Luft 46 and this is what i am baseing my Dio on.

I am going to attempt to build an access tower similar to that. Now that should be fun.

Bish, nice progress, don't be to hard on yourself, I think that you are doing a great job so far!
The dust could happen to anyone, but rubbing with a soft cloth or old shirt can fix this rather quickly as mentioned by Griffin.
Taking pictures up close does indeed make your errors look far worse then they actually are as you said.

Try to take your pictures from a distance, then cut them into to the right size to post 'em here, I mostly try to do the same thing when taking pictures of the model itself.

With regards, Ninetalis.

Thanks, and thanks for the tip. I will have to remember that. And i don't think the close up photos help either. They make small errors look far worse than they are. Or am i just makeing excuses lol.

At this scale its hard to show detail, but i think i am going to have to practice with the camera a bit

Looks good Bish.

I've found that gentle rubbing the model with an old cotton T-Shirt removes most of the dust that can accumulate on a model's paint job.

Thanks Bsyamato. Got a quck update as i am away this coming week.

The nose section has had its flat coat applied and I have added metal MG 151 cannon, a pitot probe and antennas, all items intend for He 162 and Me 262.

On the rear section i have added the decals and a flat coat, as well as the main wheel.

I am leaving final assemply until the last possable moment. By the time i get home, i should have a soldering iron so i can make an access tower for this and get a Dio finished.

Thanks for looking, and all comments welcome.

Yeah I have those same problems you know, I have a lot of pets so they make a lot of dust and such so, I  have a sort of drying cabin that I made which dries the models without getting the dust to easy to it.

Can't wait for pictures!

Thanks, ye those curves are a bit tricky. Unfortunatly i am not able to work in dust free enviroment. I could relly do with getting something to cover the model while they dry. But you can't see them at all with the naked eye. I have no=w got the decals on so will be applying the matt coat tomorrow.

Bish, your Triebflugel seems to be coming along nicely!
I'm not such a great shot at masking curved fuselages either, as you maybe could see with my wildcat in the Grumman Iron Works Group build, but to be honest, you can't really see it on the pictures...

It seems that you have some dust here and there in your paint on the nose, what a pity...
Anyway, Can't wait to see this little guy finished!

Heres another update on the Triebflugel. The painting is now complete. I gave it an all over coat of light green and motteling of Dark Green and Brown Violet, though its hard to tell the last two apart.

One thing i hate about close up photo's, they show up things you can't se with the naked eye.Going to have to try and remove those little lumps now i know they are there.

The RD band isn't perfect, i still don't have the nack for masking curved pieces like this. But its not to bad.

The paints nearly dry now, who says enamel takes a long time. So i should have the few decals on tonight.

Thanks for looking.

Ninetalis

No problem Owl, you can add that to the build, Still gonna make that Crusader or gonna swap that with this new thing?

With regards, Ninetalis.

Im still planning on the crusader. There's a bit of surgery required to fit resin upgrades on that one, so I guess this old MiG kit is practice!

Time for an update on the Triebflugel. I am just about ready to start getting the paint on. I am going to paint the aircraft un assemebled, a first for me. The rescribing on the front section just behind the canopy went ok, but not perfect. I need some practice and a better tool. The panel lines on the rear section are out by a tiny amount but i have decided to leave them rather than make it worse.

I have decided to go with a paint scheme of all over light green with motteling of dark green and brown violet. More soon.

can I add a new kit? Im frakensteining an old MiG kit and it will have folding wings. Its not going to be a real aircraft, just something Im bashing together for the heck of it.

That's pretty cool, Ninetalis!

The Fokker looks great without the rigging. As we say over here, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

A few days ago I picked up a box from a store which sells all sorts of stuff for reasonable prices,
While I was making a drawing I remembered that I had some bottles with some special paint in it, made to paint on glass and when it was dry, you could apply it to any sort of surface and it would stick on it forever.
I had this 'bright' idea to paint a plane on the box, since I was going to use it for my modelling stuff.
Since I don't really had a lot of colors I chose the box art of my fokker box...

As I allready mentioned, I have had these bottles for a long time and don't know if I'm gonna find any new ones, I'm gonna search for a brown bottle to paint the prop.

I also decided not to rig the fokker because it would be to hard now that I allready painted and 'finished' it allready, I don't want to screw things up with my limited knowledge so I'm gonna leave it for what it is.

It was the 1/48 kit, everything I build is 1/48, sometime I do a 1/32, I don't use any other scale for my airplanes.

I don't know how the fit and detail is on the 1/28 kit, but the 1/48 kit is really great, it's an Eduard rebox.

Was that the 48 or the 28 scale triplane Ninetails? Ive been eyeing the 28 at the LHS but im not sure.
