Well, it's now official. I placed an order with Sprue Brothers today for the Berkut kit, so I should be starting construction in a week or so

I forgot to ask - would an X-Wing Fighter from Star Wars qualify. I saw one at the LHS and the question came to mind. (I'm still in with the Tomcat BTW)

BsYamato
you want me to put you up for that one to? Doesn't matter if you don't know if you're going to fit them both within' the time scale, as long as you complete 1.

Regards Ninetalis.

I'm still looking for my Tomcat. The LHS's have the old Revell/Monogram 1:48 and the Italeri. If you were going to chose, which one would you buy?

Hans von Hammer

Changed m' mind, Ninetalis...

Put me in for a 1/72 scale "Burt"-17A...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/HansvonHammer/Aircraft%20Profiles/Aircraft%20details/B-17%20Details/B-17BurtRutan.jpg

This'll be a "Wings in Unorthadox Places" build, and a "What if Burt Rutan had designed the B-17?" gag...

(For those of you that don't know him, his designs are almost ALL canard wing or at least unusual..

http://airplanes-aircraft.factoidz.com/the-aircraft-designs-of-burt-rutan/  )

While it's not "my" scale, nor do I usually build without a diorama, this one's fun enough to build, and I also found an old 1/72 Revell "Memphis Belle" B-17F kit in my stash that i'd forgotten I still had, from about 1977... It was inside another kit-box, along with a bunch of other "parts-kits" that I have...

The interesting part will be the main gear, lol..  Definitely NOT a tail-dragger, lol...

Toast Yesss!!!

I'll search in the stash to find some expendable kit to aplly me too some burt conversion

fair over the rear tail wheel hole, and scratch the tail wheel into the nose,,, extend the mout down some so she's not nose down... scratch some gear doors... few Hammer gizmos.. I'm liking it !

Posted by Ninetalis on Friday, February 17, 2012 11:08 AM

Welcome tto the official 'Special Wingdings GB'

This Group Build is all about special wings, from swept forward wings to lifting bodies,
you'll find them all here.

The rules are quite simple

   -  Any plane with something special about it's wings.
   -  All era's are allowed, production and prototype, even luft 46 and 'drawed' stuff.
   -  If you still want to join, send me a PM.
   -  Half started projects are allowed, as long that there's still some work to do about it.
   -  GB crossovers are allowed (but with the same rules as above)
   -  (Added Rule) WIP must be posted!

   -  If I forgot something, be sure to let me know in a PM.

These are the mega-awesome badges!

Here are the bigger versions

You can put the badges in your sig if you're in, but when you don't finish, then you've got to remove 'em.
