Im thankful for all the wonderful people ive met on here. Im thankful for having a roof over my head. Im thankful for having money in my bank account. Im thankful to be alive.

Now for a question. Which ME109 was the most prominent in the Battle Of Britain? The E-1 or the E-3?

I don't know if this is the most active build on this site, but it sure as heck is the funniest!!  Propeller

In spite of all the crummy events going on in this world, I'm sure that we can all agree that we still have much to be thankful for.

I wish you all a most enjoyable Thanksgiving!!  Toast

Do hat we did when our stove died once.  Get a 2 burner portable electric stove.  The ones you set on the counter.  They aren't very expensive and then you always have backup.

Hi Everyone,

Well my wife and I took the truck to the store that advertised the stove she had picked out and much to our disappointment they did not have it in stock.  Sad  It will be 2 weeks before more will be available.  But the deal is so good that it is worth the wait.  Now the only problem is that we will have only 2 burners to cook with on Thanksgiving.  We do have the microwave and of course the oven still works so we will manage.

Thanks Dom. Ive still got a bucketload to do. Ive got to make a paint rack for my paint pots and ive got one of the guys in the workshop making some steel tubes to sink into the desk for all my brushes and files and all that guff. Im going to see about mounting them at and angle so theyre easy to get at and i can stuff the bottoms with a bit of cotton to make them as deep as i need them. Ive also got to figure out where im going to store completed kits.

So true Mikey,

I kinda scam the system, I love finishing, but given i don't sell anything anymore, I'm just as happy stoking the shelves with new kits....sick....but true.....actually, I love stoking the shelves with Old Kits.......

Great progress on the new digs Mikey, I hope your missus is happy too.....

I hope she is inspired to constantly buy you new kits, like my 'Love Slave' does....Big SmileYesYesYes

Yeah i heard about that. We were thinking meth lab or unspent ordinance (we know how odd you gun crazy yanks are lol) but insurance fraud does sound more likely, especially in today's climate.

Hi Everyone,

The 120 volt electric outlet is done and ready for the new stove.  My wife has already picked out the new stove.  All that is left is to go and pick it up tomorrow, drag the old one out and hook the new one up.

Those were some good points about still being able to cook when the electric is out Russ.  And now that the new furnace is also gas it will be no problem for my electric generator to handle the house if the power does go out!  And here in Indiana it is notorious for ice storms that take out the power lines during the winter.

Speaking of gas and Indiana, have any of you heard on the news about the house that exploded a little over a week ago in Indianapolis?  That is just about 60 miles from where I live.  They are now calling it a homicide.  The couple that was killed was in the house next door to the house that exploded.  I suspect that it may be a case of attempted insurance fraud using natural gas to destroy the house.

I don't know Dom.  I wrote him a couple of times since the last time he did write to let us know he was still okay but I didn't get a reply.  I am concerned now that the holidays are almost here.  It is not a good time to be alone.

ScorpyMike: sharp! Wish my bench looked that good. Little too clean though!

Rich: cool, my favorite tv show of all time! And those are some of the best lines. I've got a pile of B5 garage kits stashed around, really need to build some of them.

I loved that show!  I had two favorite lines from that show.  One was when Delenn arrived in a nick of time with a Minbari Battlecruiser.  "Only one man has ever faced a Minbari Battlecruiser and won..  He is behind me...  You are in front of me..  Be somewhere else... Mow..."

And when Vere Coto walked up to Morden's Head on a pike and kept a promise by waving to him, while grinning... lol

I used to have the B5 station kit, but it got stolen before I even had a chance to open it years ago.  I hear it was a decent kit though.

Misery loves company Dom so welcome to the party! BTW I have one pic to include. The longitudinal seams on the fuselage and the wing to fuselage join are worse than I previously thought. This was before putting the wings on but believe me, it's not a pretty sight.  Nothing that a little putty and liquid primer won't fix but being that this is going to be metal finished I have a feeling it won't  be too pretty. I'll load it up and sand as best as possible then lay down some surface primer and hope for the best.Huh?

Looks good, Mike! Good luck on your seam work. BTW, what's that round hole toward the tail? This is a MIG, right?

Russ

Russ

Not sure what it's supposed to be but yes, it's a circular hole and yes this is a MiG. I just assumed it was some kind of exhaust for the ATM or something. I don't know enough about  the Klimov to venture more than a guess.

If it is really there, then it is an access plate to undo bolts, probably the aft lock nuts to hold the engine/af/texhaust/cowling in place. Either that or the Soviets put an enviro-carbon-paw-print meter in there.....lol

The soviet maxim was 'Simple and Strong' and that MiG was probably designed by a captured German engineer. I'll look it up, but I'm sure it is not instrumentation, just mounting hardware.
