Well, I'm due for an update here, but the Wife has the camera atm, so the proof will have to wait. I gave the Dora a flat coat using Gunze aqueous and after an overnite dry I glued all the small bits on. Canopy and aerial wire are on, along with gun barrels and wheels. Just finished using a little pigments here and there, and when those are set I'll get some pics up.

Joe Rix-Glad to see things moving along for you finally. Can't wait to see it finished.

Matt- Glad to have you back. Great work on the Tank. I haven't build a C version yet, but its on my list. Thanks for the tips on the Hobbyboss kit. Too bad they goofed on the wheel wells.

ajd- the 190 G-2 was based on the A-5, but the armament was reduced to just the inboad wing 20mm cannons and an ETC 501 rack for bombs on the fuselage centerline. The G-3 was the same only 2 outer wing racks were standard. They could carry fuel tanks or or a 250kg bomb.

Well thanks Nathan, that's great to know. I have a ProModeler G-2 and a beatiful set if Eagle Strike decals for an A-5. So it looks like this coming sring, I'll tweek the G-2 to look like an A-5 for this GB.

Doug,

That is a great reference.  Makes me wonder what the Ta-152S-1 would have looked like.  Now that would be one heck of a conversion.

Which book is this from?

Well, I'm declaring myself finished! Not too shabby for the third one on here (still behind Doug and Jester). This Dora 13 is a rarity. Yellow 10 seems to get all the attention, and I can see why with its fancy camo. This is the only other known scheme. I posted the pic of the real deal earlier and I think after I weathered it up it matches quite well. Amazing how the build changes from the first paint work to the end of the weathering. The only aftermarket used was resin wheels and a fushion models prop, resin exhaust and supercharger intake. Camo is RLM 82 and 81 on the fuselage and wings are 77 gray primer and 81. Colors are Gunze aqueous and their lacquer Gloss. The huge prop and intake really set the D-13 apart. Hope you guys like it and feel free to comment, critique.

Nathan T:Man you really nailed that one!!! Every time one of you veterens around here build one of these I learn more and more. Thank you again for your contribution, good commentary and good support to this group build. It's truly a privelege to build with some the finest folks here! Give us a full photo of this awesome build and I'll get you posted in the intro post  buddy!!

blkhwkmatt:Saw you asked which book the excerpts were from and Doug and I are pretty tight so I don't think he'll take this as stepping on his toes (he's actually the guy responsible for me having a copy of this book). This is the book you are asking about from Robert Grinsell and it's a good book:

Nathan T:  that is one good looking D-13!  Thanks for sharing.  Great weathering and paint scheme.  There is something to be said about the late war schemes.

I am calling this one done!!  This was the Hobby Boss Ta-152C-1/R-14, that I finished as a R-31.  I took some liberty with the paint scheme and as a result this is more of a luft '46 scheme.  My opinion on the kit can be found in my earlier post, so here are the finished pics:

Thanks for looking, this GB is the best!!!!

Thats an awesome build Matt! I like how flat your finish turned out. That was something I was wrestling with for the longest time until Doug shed some light on that for me. I'll get your pics on the intro post today man. Thank you for continuing to contribute such awesome work and knowledge to this build. Feel free to grab another..................we've got some time here!

I am sorely tempted to build, as I have a few left in the stash, however my aries detail kit for my Do-335 arrived today, and there is a 1/32 Me-262 that is calling my name.  Still haven't decided which one will be the next project, but I will keep at least one eye on this GB, that is for sure.

Nathan: Wonderful, wonderful build! That just looks sweet. Thanks yet again for sharing your knowledge and skills with us. Do you have another one in the que for us?

Matt: Excellent work my friend. You turned out a really fantastic paint job as well as the build all around. Sorry to hear you won't be joining us with another but, I do understand. Lord knows I have plenty of other subjects begging my attention. Stay in touch with us and take care.

As a matter of interest, is anyone familiar with these books? They just came up for sale on ebay. The fella sure wants a pretty penny for them. May be the fact that they are hard to find. He's also selling them each individually.

Thanks for the good input Guys! Glad to be apart of the group here. Hard to say if I'll  build another soon, as I have some Soviet VVS subjects lined up. If I did build another it would be my Eduard A-9, as I've found some cool obscure theme's in some wrecked photos.

Rix- Buy those Japo Books!!!!!! They are super sweet and rare. Some say they are better than Crandal's works. If I had the cash (stupid holidays...), I'd buy them in a heart beat. Tons of rare photos in those volumes. Polish and English writing. Great camo color interpretations.

Doug,

No Group Build that I know of, the 262 just happened to be towards the top of my "which one now" list.  Also it will be nice to build in 1/32 scale for a change, will be easier to get the paint scheme right.  I will be painting it as yellow 4 from the eagle cal decal sheet. Think that I saw some pictures of the scheme over on swannys models site.  I do also have a Hasa A-4 kit that I also have the snake decals for so that might be my next swing into the 190 world.

That would be great if somebody started a 262 or WWII jet GB at the end of 14!! I predict alot of wild builds out of that one!!

Gee, I got way behind ....again.

Nathan, that some a masterfully executed work. Pretty much in awe of it. That's a first class camo or mottling or whatever we're supposed to call it job. Thanks for sharing this build with us.

Matt, she came together beautifully. Very nice work and I'm also glad you joined in here.

Glad you like it Greg. I am pretty happy with it. Very tempted to do another Wurger. My 190 collection has almost outgrown my 109 collection because of this GB!

Nathan - that D-13 is great. It was worth all the work and has very good realism.

Matt - Great finish on yours too, these are both motivating models for me.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
