I do have one question, does someone half the ability to cast a resin copy(or if you are replacing your cockpit with resin) from the Eduard kit, I need just the control column.  If anyone needs a part from mine before I start it I'd behappy to cast a copy, I don't have much RTV left but I'd be happy to give it a shot.

DoogsATX

Just found out that Zoukei-Mura is going to be re-releasing their 1/32 Ta 152H on January 1.

And then there were five to choose from...

Get out!!!  No way...  The past year, I have been trying to keep my purchases in check and trying to build from my stash.  This will be a serious temptation...looks like I will have to be saving my allowance because I will likely want to take that plunge.

You mind if I join?  I just picked up a 1:48 Hobbyboss Ta-152.  Of course, I will have to invest in some decals since HB decals are not that great from my experience.

Guys,

Thanks!  This kit has been sitting in my stash for a little while so this is a great time to give it some love!  This will be my second group build, did an egg plane build over on the Flory Models website.

I think he means just using the parts that come with the kit, no after market parts added to the kit.  This is also the way I build. :)

Well William... Like Doogs, I looked through all my books and nosed around a bit on Google, and found no winter camo Doras. The nearest any thing close was a Ta152 in RLM light blue (looks pale grey to me,

ha) and grey primer.

Take care!

WJT and Nathan... You know Im not sure about a Dora in winter camo, I will search a bit more and see if I can find any, I think that most Doras being kind of late war birds were rushed into production and most camo patterns were done in the field once attached to a fighting unit. I remember reading somewhere that alot of the camo and motteling was of and over the field grey primer applied from the factory.  As Nathan said, many A's were camo painted as the pilot desired, and ran a wide range of patterns. Glad you like the 801D engine, I think it will look increadible when done! Give me a bit and I'll look through some of my books and see if I can locate any winter camo Doras.

Hey Doug,

I just got my BMW 801 D from ebay too, and also from maxthe modeller! It sure looks like a beautiful engine, right!  Black 7 sounds like a GREAT choice! I can't wait to see it completed!

I have been thinging of building a Dora as well. Were any 190 D's painted in winter camo?I would love   to add some contrast between the two. Plus I just love the look of a beat up 190 all weather worn from harsh winters.

I know that BF 109's have had winter camo applied, mostly field applied.

Did any 190's have that done?

Take care,

Will

Pretty much all ready to go. The True Details resin cockpit and wheel set came the other day. Initially very impressed with the detail for 1/72 scale. PE set should arrive shortly and thus I should everything I need to go.

Bish - In case you're interested one of these resin cockpits just popped up on ebay. I'll get the seller info for you ifn' you be interested.

Hey folks. Well we've got about a month until this whole thing kicks off and I know that we are all anticipating the day we can start cutting stuff off of the sprues. Just here to let my presence be known and that I haven't forgotten about all of this. Will be getting back with a couple of you all this week to update things on the first page. Right now and co hosting the My First Time GB with Bish due to the absence of the original host. Will see this thing through all the way to the end and am looking very much forward to getting started. See you guys around here, Joe

Cool, looks like the plane is painted in the two later war greens, 82 and 83. Those computer profiles you have show a different rudder camo. I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation. I believe that dora is in Jerry Crandall's book. I wonder if he writes more about the pilot in it. I should really spring for that book some day... I also have Don Cadwell's JG 26 Diary. It might also have some info. I recommend that book for all things JG 26. As far as me, I just ordered Eduards new fw190A-9 on black friday, so I'll either be picking one of those schemes or cobbling together my own.

Thanks Nathan... I just nose artound the google sites until I find one that looks and feels interesting. I also like to see if I can get a bit of a story with it. What got me interested in this one was the kinda sick looking pale green on the fuse sides.and tail. And I liked the story behindf it, I have looked around a bit and still haven't found anything other then what I wrote earlier about the pilot. Just keep digging and researching and something will catch your eye and interest. There were twenty some odd thousand 190s built, One will suit you to start with I'm sure! Love to hear what you decide on, when you do! Take care... Couple of more shots...

Sweet choice. I like the different cammo on the rudder. I'm still having a tough time choosing my kit and markings.
