Here is the finished 0/400. Just got the base to complete before I am calling this done. The rigging for the control surfaces and running from the tail were based solely on the box art.

 All comments welcome as always.

Bish: I need to get back to working on the GMC plow truck...I just need to finish my COTA Impala cruiser first.

I'm still here, guys.  I've just been watching you all work your fingers to the bone, making all these cook kits.  I've not made much progress, it took awhile to get all the parts I need.  I hope to post some pictures of the Spindrift in the next day.

The aircraft itself is done, I just need to work on the base. Its only a simple one, but I am going to use some celluclay for terrain and I will do it at the same time I do the Me 262 base. But I will get some pics of the aircraft up later.

Guys, we are almost half way through the GB. I will send out some PM's soon to those who haven't stared yet, I know how easy it can be to forget what GB's your in. But if you can drop a line here that would be great.

The 0/400 is almost done, so should have the final pics in a day or two. How are the rest of you guys doing.

Check, I think its close enough. I don't think I am going to be doing these often enough to get the spot on paints for it. Close enough will do.

Great job with the rigging! That really makes a WWI biplane. I'm not sure I'd have to patience to deal with it. Looks like you're getting close!

she certainly has come along nicely. All the folks here do an outstanding job on painting w/ airbrushes. I really like what you have done with the wings. Very realistic to the period.

That's a spindly looking crate, Bish.  It is a wonder those things could fly.  It's looking good, and the rigging enhances it very much.

I did some WWI planes years ago, using the old Pactra "international colors," and your paint scheme looks very close to what their RFC/RAF olive was.  I have also heard of a PC11, but am not sure what it was used for.

Anyway, it's a great looking plane.  I hope my George Peppard Pfalz comes out as well for the Hollywood build.

Been making some slow progress over the last few days. the paint is now complete and the decals are on. A little bit more rigging to do and then the final matt coat.

Check, I was just looking at the painting guide. Under the 155 code it does say approx. PC10, so I am guessing its close even if not spot on to that colour. I hadn't realised Xtracolor did that, but I have just seen they do. If I had known, I might well have got some.

used to enjoy the riggin' of the cutty sark and old ironsides back in the day...not sure I'd be willing to tackle that now though!

We seem to have similar tastes in some areas. But after rigging this 0/400, I won't think you will see me anywhere near a sailing ship any time soon. When the other half said she wanted to get me a kit, I said she can get anything, except a sailing ship.

just studied the group badge and i own half of those and have models from other companies for most of the rest. scary.

you aren't going to learn much about sailing ships watching this build. i do have a couple of 1/96 old revell kits in the stash (3-masted barque PEDRO NUNES, KEARSARGE, AMERICA) which are may get to before the end of the year.

oh instructions have no paint scheme either.

Added you to the roster Wayne, interesting looking build. I know nothing about sailing ships, so this will fun to watch.

i'm doing the trumpeter chinese treasure ship. a freind gave it to me since he started building wood.

lets start by getting the prelims out of the way. i have done the research and read the books so pleese everyone refrain from telling me it's a crap model representative of nothing real.

Well, as long as someone imports Humbrol over here, then I guess we'll have a source in the USA for appropriate paints.  I think the paint I ordered was xtracolour (it's in the basement right now).  They had German Mauve, which isn't easy to locate, so I ordered one each of their WWI colours.

No, i used the paint in the Airfix chart, Humbrol 155. I did check hannants, the xtracolour range, but couldn't find anything. I must admit, i didn't look at any other ranges, but then i wasn't to sure what i was looking for. RLM colours i know almost off by heart, but anything else, i get lost.

That's looking great, Bish.  What did you use for the paint?  Is that PC 10?  I got some WWI paint from Hannant's, right before the postal embargo, and I think that was the RFC colour I ordered.

Nice work on the Hellcat. raised panel lines can be a headache, i am never sure how to weather them and sanding near them can be a real pain. I am sure you can pull it off.

After several days doing a bit at a time, i finally have the 0/400 rigged up. I also have all the wing sections on. I still have a bit of sanding a filling to do and a few other bits to add before i finish off the paint job.

So here she is so far.

 Now hopefully i can get some real progress with this build.

Nice looking Hellcat, Theuns.  I think we all have major headaches with raised panel lines.  It's like a universal truth.  Good luck with them!

Theuns, nice Hellcat so far. That's going to be one big plane when it's all done! Can't wait to see the detail work. The cockpit pics looked really nice! Z, thanks for the kind words. Raised panel lines are a pain. I used to deal with them (butcher) on planes and I was always frustrated by them. You and Theuns are doing/did a great job with them!

The Gundham build is awesome...simply fantastic. I was really curious to see how the build turned out...such a departure from typical. Excellent work! 

The hellcat is really looking fine. I know what you mean by the raised panel lines and sanding work/being careful as Mission to Albuquerque had them. I'm sure you will address this issue better than I did in the right wing tabacle I encountered. Looking forward to more WIP images!

Hi lads.

I have been working on the 1/32 Hasa F6f Hellcat, and sofar the fit of the parts seems very "un hasagawa like". It will be chalanging to get the filling and sanding done with all the finely raised detal, but I will just have to see how it goes. The right hand wingroot gap is the big headache.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I enjoyed the weathering part, though it was a brain-tickler as far as how to do it. I usually try to weather ground mechs like tanks or other armor, and any ones that fly in atmosphere like helicopters. For a space combat only mech I thought the paint would be trashed by the harsh space environment pretty quickly, as well as by exploding bits that aren't slowed quickly by gravity and air. Bish, the pleasure was all mine! The poseability of the model is nice in that you can finish all the major pieces (arms, legs, etc) separately and then it takes about 10 minutes to put it all together. However, you have to paint planning on exposing parts of the joints that weren't exposed when you painted necessarily. So sometimes you have to paint things a couple times with the joints in different positions to cover everything. It can be tedious, but fun when the whole things goes together.

BL, awsome build, thanks for takeing part and bringing somthing we don't often see. I love the home made decals and the weapons look awsome. I didn't realise it would be possable as wel.

I will deffinatly be watching for more of your work.
