Thanks for the kind words, guys. The base was an after-thought, and I rushed it a bit. Should have taken more care. Well, next time!
Meanwhile, one last picture that I've enhanced a bit. Looks better without the stand.
That is even more impressive! Could be a special FX shot itself, and it looks even better than the old series.
Now that is a nice pic.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

It's taken two weeks to make enough progress to post pictures. Most of the time was taken up with the frustrating task of installing PE rails on the catwalks around the flight deck. Finally finished it up--I hope. The stuff can be knocked off pretty easily.
Here's the hull with the flight deck in place. The coffee cups did their job well.
Here is a view of the hanger deck with SBD's in place.
Port, then starboard:
Here's the bow of Enterprise, showing the catwalks aft of the .50 gun tubs, which I scavenged from the Tamiya Hornet.
Below are port and starboard photos of the PE rails near the stern. Some of the angles were kind of tricky.
There's a long run of rail along the port side catwalk. I had to cut the PE rail into three pieces to manage it, and then discovered that the farthest aft section of the catwalk was warped, so the rail didn't fit too well. Did the best I could to fill in the gap with white glue, then ran some thin acrylic wash in to conceal it as well as possible.
The warp must be a defect, since other built-up Tamiya Enterprises on the 'net seem to have it as well.
While the glue on the PE rail was drying, I finished up the superstructure--sort of. I still need to add the CXAM-1 radar.
PE rails are in place, although I knocked off both the rear mast, one of the rails and one of the .50 machine guns, during rigging. Rigging took a long time, too. I used stretched sprue, and had a tough time coaxing the stuff to go where I wanted it.
I used some .020 round styrene stock to make the staff holding up the US flag. Tamiya didn't include it with the kit. Neither did they include decals for the flag, so I made that out of a 48 star flag I picked up on the 'net, reduced it, printed it on paper, and touched up the edges with paint.
The tiny .50 cals, which you can barely see just ahead of the legs holding up whatever that structure is, are from WEM.
Now that ship is impressive! All the tedium of bending and shaping the railing and sprue will certainly pay off. This Enterprise is beautiful! Looking forward to launch!
Next thing you're going to do is put the arrester wires on, eh??
Gary
Thanks, Gary.
I think the wires are a pleasure I will forego at this point!
Looking very impressive CMK
A.K.A. Ken Making Modeling Great Again
Lovely work as always CMK. She's really coming together.
Thanks, Ken and Bish. Hopefully I can get her out of drydock soon.
Since this one was being extended... could you please put me down in the roster. I have a 1970 Challenger that I can make look like the ride from the movie "Vanishing Point". Thanks so much!

I don't really do Car's, but that looks a nice one Cody. I take it the first image is from the movie.
I remember seeing that movie at the local drive-in theater. The ending was a surprise.
Bish- Yep you're correct it is from the movie!
checkmateking02- Ha yeah. For a car guy and one who always loved Mopar Muscle the ending was painful until I learned the actual fact of what car REALLY crashed. It would appear that a Challenger was wrecked into the bulldozers, right? But in fact it was a Camaro! When I was told this I had to see for myself and sure enough you can see this if you are looking close enough when it shows the burning wreck at the end.
Never knew that, Cody. Who would have thought--a stunt double for the car! I wonder what happened to the Challenger after the filming was done.
That'd be interesting to know for sure! I guess the Dukes of Hazard (TV Show) went through around 300 Chargers. Most of those got auctioned off in the 80's for next to nothing or sold for minimal amounts (probably due to major frame/exterior damage from jumps and stuff).

Cody your signed up. and don't worry about running out of time. That looks like a great kit. I'll have to watch it coming together.
Everyone, I was unable to get online for a few days. Verizon.finally showed up this morning and got me back online. For the last week, it was very questionable as to getting online. I never knew if i was going to be online or not. So, we'll see if this guy fixed the problem.
Thanks so much Ken!
Its not much but the wheels are done. Most engine & Suspension parts are painted but not assembled. The inside of wheels are painted in a darker silver leaving the lip chrome. The white letters are Shabo dry transfer vinyls.
Nice looking set of wheels, Cody! Are you going for the way this Challenger looks in the movie, or with some artistic license?
Oh, and welcome to the GB!
Hi Gary, thanks for the welcome! I believe I will make this car look just as it did in the beginning of the movie.... white & clean! I do however think it would be cool to make dirty/dusty version. They made an ERTL diecast that was a dirty Vanishing Point Challenger in 1/18 and that looked kinda cool.
Nice start, Cody. Looking good!
Finished USS Enterprise CV-6 last night. Her real self appeared briefly in the 1976 "Midway" film (via stock footage), and John Ford's wartime documentary, "The Battle of Midway," released in 1942 (I hope; I recently read that the planes leaving "a" carrier in the film might be from the "Hornet!?"). According to Wikipedia, Henry Fonda and Ray Milland are among the narrators.
Managed to get three pictures before the camera battery required recharging, so will post more later.
Now that is very nice indeed Check, lovely looking build. Great display as well. Been a pleasure watching this come together.
That's a good looking base Check! The last pic shows off the illusion of reflections on the water.
Built the Engine, suspension, and put the tires on. The engine got some aftermarket spark plug wires.
Cody> Great looking chasis! She'll be a beauty.
CMK02> Inspiring! Que the "Midway March"!!
I don't know if Enterprise was in "Midway", but she was certainly in this one! As she appeared in 1940-41.
Congrats on getting her finished. Look forward to more pictures!
Hi Check, The Enterprise is looking good there. Do you want me to use one of these pics, or do you have something else in mind?
i'll use one these until you get the other pics.
Thanks, Bish. The "water" is a temporary base for photos, made out of aluminum foil and painted.
