Another option would be a resin set from Quickboost. Nothing is made specifically for the Stuka, but set QTB48199 is for the Tamiya Storch and they are the same radios for Ds and Gs. That is my plan anyway. I'm too cheap to buy a whole resin set, so I'm gonna cobble my cockpit together best I can, and scratch building radios and gunsights ain't my game! Especially when these small QB sets only run 6 or 7 bucks.

I plan on cutting out these radios and fitting them in my Italeri D-5:

Bish: there aren't any radios in the kit or the PE set.  It's the old Monogram Ju-87D, so there's hardly anything in the cockpit.

Mustang: thanks for the offer!  If you really don't mind I'll gladly take you up on it

I've got a Revell Ju-87 D and a Monogram Ju-87 G-1 and those kits only have two seats, a control stick and two figures. No radios.  If you need some Bob, I have a spare Hasegawa overturn structure and some radios I could send your way.

I just got me PE set in the mail, and now I'm super excited about this build.  I'll have to build the radio boxes though, since they don't seem to be in the set.  Oh well, can't have everything right?Stick out tongue And after digging the box out of my stash to store the PE until I'm ready I'm glad I decided to do this with the night camo scheme because the decals in the box look like they are older than I am.

Joe: awesome info on the sights! I reckon the G2 only had the Revi sight as they didn't drop any bombs?

Doug: Welcome aboard! I can't wait to see that winter scheme!

No, I don't have that bok, but I do want to add it. The book I have suggests the Stuvi was introduce on the A, going to have to try and dig further into that.

Hey Bish if you have the Aero Detail book it's on page 55. As far as if I have one in the Aires set, I'll have to look. My set is for the B variant and the Stuvi was used on the D variant.

Great info Mustang. The book I have mentions the Stuvi as well. It mentions the swivel mount as well. But I have never seen any pics of either site and all the other books don't seem to mention the sights at all. The Squadron book says the gunsight was mounted in that bulge at the top of the windscreen, but I think they have that wrong as it makes no sense at all. The bombsight makes much more sense.

Is that the Areo Details book?

Welcome aboard Doug, i'll add it to the roster.

Nathan, I can't say I have ever seen one in any kit, I will have to check on that.

Sweet info guys! I do have a quickboost C12D set, so I'll be putting in one of those on top of the instrument panel. The kit one looks cruddy. So only certain Stukas were fitted with the Stuvi sight? No bombsight is included in my kit. Is there one in your Aires set Mustang?

Been waiting for this one for awhile Bish!  Really like the twists in the build. Put me down to begin with, for a 1/48th scale, Monogran pro kit Ju 87"B" Thanks! I think I would like to maybe do a winter paint scheme...

The gun sight used was a Revi C12D mounted to the top of the IP and at the top fo the windscreen was the Stuvi 5 bomb sight. Will post pics in a bit.

Ok here we go. The Stuvi 5:

and a little text about it....

Just been looking through the Manfred Griehl book. From the B-1, a Revi 12C was fitted. In the Squadron book it does mention that on some D-5's the gunsight was moved to a small blister in top of the front cockpit, but no mention it was changed.

Good question. I have not actually come across anything about gun sights, or bomb sights for that matter, fitted to Stuka's. The wing guns were used for ground attack, so I am not sure if those gunsights would be suitable. I know the Ju 88 had a dive bombing sight, but I have not come across anything about the Stuka's sight. You would have thought they had a bomb sight at least.

Thats a nice cockpit Joe. Good attention to detail there.

Anyone know what type of gunsight was in the D-5? Was it the same as later 109s? Revi 16B?

Got the S6b and F5a receiver and transmitter radios painted, detailed and weathered here and just about ready for installation.

Also got the dive flap control levers installed and painted as well as picked out a few other details and some additional weathering.

Good looking stuff thus far. I'm finishing up my other GB project and waiting for my RLM paints to arrive from Squadron. Will post some sprue pics and start the actual process this week end. Good luck to All!

Aside from being an A variant it does look like a cool kit.

Jim, I'm afraid the paint stage is a bit far along. If you want to post some pics as an unofficial entry, that would be ok though.

As I was getting some other pics, I thought I would take a couple of the A-2. Its certainly in keeping with the feel of SH kits. I have a few but never built one before, the closest I have got is MPM. So will see how this goes. It does come with a PE fret and a few resin pieces. And its the first Stuka kit I have come across with the pilots dive window cut out. Theres no clear part for it, but that should be easy to fix.

I am building this aircraft belonging to StG 165 in 1938. This will make a nice change doing the pre 2 war 3 colour top scheme.
