I am calling the F-100 and F-104 complete, so here they are.

Hello again. Now that I'm in the prime and paint stage of my Hellcat for the PCA GB, I'll have some down time while paint dries. So I decided to brake out the F-107 for this build. I washed the parts and did some test fitting this morning. Looks like there will be a little filling and sanding to do. This is my first Trumpeter kit. Couple things I noticed was the large tabs holding the parts to the tree. Also the antennas are molded to the wings and fuselage. It will be a challenge to not break them off during construction. It looks like a fairly simple build. The fun part will be doing the bare metal finish which I have never done. So if anyone has some pointers along the way, I'd happy to hear them.

Right on Craig...looks great thus far. This is on my hit list to do as well. If this is your first go at NM, you have tons of options. SAFE and easy would be Tamiya 'bare metal' from a rattle can, or decanted for airbrushing. More extreme options are Alcad products, but, they are a beast on their own.

Craig - NMF finishes are fun - you just need a smooth finish because any scratches, etc will show through

Flyerduke, That 107 is really nice! I got to see one of the prototypes at the Pima air museum back in 1984.
I don't know if it is still there. It's a really unique looking aircraft.
mach71- The 107 is still there. I live 25 minutes down the Interstate from the Pima Air Museum. It's kept indoors now. The only problem is when they refurbished the aircraft, they painted the exterior gray. I plan on building my kit with the NMF. The way it came off the line. The kit doesn't have much detail. Especially the cockpit. Here is a link to photos of 55118, the plane I plan on building.

WOW Theuns!! What a beauty...more reasons why the F-104 is my all time favourite plane!! I am going to post a pic to the front page. I am going out of town for a week and I don't know how much access I will have to the Inet, so, I really want your 104 on the front page. LMK if you want a different pic up there and I'll change it this upcoming weekend. Again, bloody excellent build!!

Just an update to show that I am still at it.
Here is the forward control panel. Much better I think than before. Still some to do on it. My references showed some of the dials to have a black mounting "box?", some were just a black ring around the dial. Thats what I am trying to portray.
Here is the cockpit mocked up still working on it also, But it is also better than my first attempt IMO.
Here is the ammo bay. I expect it to really pop once it gets some weathering done.
Slowly but surely I will get there, guys! Thanks for all the tips and comments.

Hye guys, I have the basic framing of the Thud done done and this thing is BIG! I will post pix iver the weekend.

Mail...lookin' good, nice and 'busy' looking cockpit and you were right about the ammo bays, they do pop nicely.
It is about 400mm long Rob, 15,7" with the raddome on!

That is what it is all about, since I stopped building to try impress my piers I have had way more fun and learned allot in the prossess.
