I think I found the fix for filling up the back wheelwells, but I ordered the 23" Pegasus to see what it looks like.  I "borrowed" these off of my daughters Lambo snap-tite kit.  They fit perfectly and they are a little wider.

Tim those are nice tire and wheel combination and will fill the wheel wells nicely. When your checking out the $1.9M red Cuda it was one that has a lot of different options on it including a factory undercoating for $20.

Misty: That exhaust looks killer!!! Nicely drilled out ends you've got there. Don't feel like the lone ranger. I've been movin' slow myself.

Dan: Man I know what you mean about parts "flying" off the bench. I'll come back to that in a minute. That dang truck of yours is just one helluva build there bud. I hate to hear about the turn signal but know you'll pull a rabbit outta tha hat on that matter.

Tim: I can already see that the paint job you're gonna deliver for that Chevy is going to rock the house!

Everybody:Well I apologize for not being here as much as I wanted to yesterday fellas. Usually I have alot to do on Fridays but my computer did not help matters as it contracted a dang virus yesterday that I spent the whole day getting rid of. I would have been able to get it up and running alot quicker but it was movin' like pond water and wouldn't go into Safe Mode so I could move about freely. Anyways I resolved the issue late last night just before 11.

I worked on the headlights yesterday morning cleaning them up by removing that stooopid stud that model manufacturers feel is necessary to put on them.Whoever invented this design for model headlights should be kicked right square in the butt I'll tell ya that! ass-kicking.gif

All I did was cut the stud off the back of the light,  file it down flush, clean up the edges and break out the sanding sticks starting with a medium grit and worked my way to 6000 on the back side and then applied Future.

Here's what I started with (which is a common sight to automotive model builders):

Oh yeah. I failed to mention about the part that got flicked off of the bench. I was sanding headlight #1 and it just "zinged" off of the sanding stick in to never never land. I did manage to find it about a half hour later though and finished up on it.

Headlight #2 I was finishing up when I noticed a black speck suspended in the clear plastic of the headlight. Freekin' wow!

So I grabbed another headlight from my spare-spare Challenger box and went back to work.

This is where I ended up with all four headlights before Future:

and then this is how they all ended up after the Future:

I worked on the rear suspension to drop it just a tad to compensate for the new tires I put on the rear wheels.  It definitely fits the part, now.

Got to glue some plastic finally, and this is what I've got so far:

Hard to believe this is already 16 peices into this kit. The block took a lot of sanding to get everything else to fit flush. Hopefully I haven't gotten too much together to effectively paint and detail, I got carried away!

Everyone elses builds are looking great!

It doesn't matter that you ARE the best, but that you DID your best!

Tim,

Paint is looking sharp!

Mustang, never thought about cutting that post off. They look good after removing it.

Mailwalker, building the engine is the best part hehehehe.

Still haven't been able to get out in the shop due to the weather dang it.

I found out the Middle Tennessee Modeler's Association is having their show/competition on 16 May.

I have one that I want to build box stock and enter it, so Mustang I need to add a Lindberg 1953 Ford Victoria to my build list. I'll move this one to the top of my build list and piddle with the others until it's done LOL.

Thanks Eric!  I was hoping to get more done yesterday, but the engine and tranny are painted and I can start on all of the wiring.  I've been outside for the last two hours shoveling snow.  We got pounded her in D.C.

Little more progress this morning adding the trim working on getting the exhaust stack length marked. I gave up on trying to find the missing turn single and used some square ones I had but rounded them off. Still need to finish adding some side lights on the back section and glue it on.

That's great stuff!  The only negative I can think of is that those cars its hauling are so pretty, they should be transported in an enclosed trailer. Yes  Big Smile

After shoveling snow all day, I was able to get some of the engine built and get the fuel lines ran from the fuel pump to the carbs.  Not identical to the original Hemi, but it will work.  Molar guys, please don't shoot me.  lol

Tim. Fuel line looks good.

I'm thinking that I can call this one finished! Here's some in doors pictures of the fully loaded rig. I'll get some out side next weekend if the sun comes out.

mailwalker: Good progress on that engine. 16 pieces sounds like a lot for a base engine alright. Anticipating the paint work on this bad boy.

Tim: That's some good progress on your engine as well. Don't worry there aint nobody in line for a lashing here. Looks great and love your photography.  (hate to hear about the shoveling snow all day). If it makes you feel any better, here in South Texas we have to mow our friggin' grass this time of year!

Misty: Doncha hate it when the instructions fowl up? Been there and done that by way of applying decals incorrectly mostly due to my not paying attention but also trusting the instructions!!!! Good catch!

Dan:....................Dan.......................Dan: Holee Molee!!!!!Indifferent What a masterpiece!!! This thing turned out beautifully. Really sharp looking, top notch build there. I can see all the hard work on this thing from front to rear. I really appreciate you contributing to this GB Dan. It is great to have you over here at FSM as well sharing this kind of work with us. Let me know if you want to use one of the pics you have posted here or if you'd like to take an additional pic so we can get this bad boy posted up in the Completed Builds section. I'd like to welcome you to stay and build another with us here as I'm sure all of us would love to have you around here.Yes

Joe - I don't mind the snow, but when the snow plow pushes all the snow into your driveway, prepare for a workout.  lol

Dan - That is fabulous work there buddy!  Any for a '71 Cuda?

Tim - thanks I've got at least one more car transporter for future builds but as of now I'm leaning towards a load of 1970's

Eric - thanks

Joe - I've appreacated being able to be part of the GB and Yes I have another build already planned. Thanks for your support and comments!!!  Let's wait until this week end and hope for a sunny day to get some out side pictures and I will get my son to use his camera.

For my next build its a 39 Dodge CEO custom car hauler.

Now that's gonna be just as cool right there! I'll get you down on the intro post Dan!

As for updates here. I did not spend a whole lot of time on the forum this weekend. I made a choice of benchtime over forum time and got a couple of things done. After installing the window assy I went to work on getting the interior and body installed.  I'm glad I used kit #2 as the sacrificial stance build because it made the assembly of the real thing predictable and easy and the stance is just what I wanted!

The front clip is all the original parts and will be replaced so it's just there for show. I'm currently working on that whole thing.

Anyways I still have a ways to go to finish this puppy but here's the latest result:

I love working with the 426 Hemi because it so big and easier to handle and work with.  Building this model has definitely made me a much bigger Mopar fan.  Anyhow... I redid the fuel lines, ran distort and wires, as well as the breather lines from the valve covers to the rear of the manifold.  Some pics of the 426 I saw one and sometimes two breather/vacuum lines, so I went with two for more detail.  I'm sure I will keep adding detail as the week passes.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Dan!  I wish I could have gotten more of an angle with the distributor, but there wasn't much room using a HEI distro.

Dan - The truck looks fantastic with all of the cars on baord. It's a real eyestopper. What era does the truck date from ? I like your new project as well.

Tim - Nice hemi

Mustang - looks pretty good to me, you must be pleased with it.

I'll try to post some photos of my Sierra tomorrow (it's just before 3am here, couldn't sleep). The chassis is done and I decalled the body yesterday. Clear coats, polishing, detail painting and final assembly to go.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Looking forward to the pics of that Sierra Tony. I see you have the same "no sleep" problem I have.

That motor looks like a million bucks Tim!!! Nice photography as well.

Well not just a whole lot of progress this morning but I managed to install the fuel cap and prime the replacement front clip. Some pics of the back of the car. The last pic shows the nice width of the rear tires that I managed to rob from my Monogram 66 Mustang kit since it had two sets in it.Wink
