todays work was to dechrome the dump body and work on getting the cab to set level. I also got the steering linkage hooked up. Heres a couple pictures  

I cut the frame and added 35 scale inches it was the same 35" I cut out of the Bighorn.

Test mock up to see how everything is lining up. The cab will need some grinding on the inside for the radiator to fit and allow the front to set a little lower to level every thing. 

Im not sure if there should be a roof vent that is on this one and is it in the correct location? Checking pictures it's hard to tell if some had the roof vent and some didn't so I'm not sure if it should stay or remove it

Go big or go home... On top of the FW30 and the Le Mans Jag, I decided that the Jag will be time-consuming build and plucked out an old kit for a OTB build. So, we'e running 3 wide now. FW30, XJR9LM and now also a Wolf WR-1 20th scale from Tamiya. It's an old original release kit I got for next to nothing and I'm not even sure all the parts will be in there. So just building that in those inbetween frustrated or plucking up courage moments! 

Some minor painting progress on the interior of the Jag, nothing noteworthy. Already some PE to be added on step one, so that prompted the decision to get out the Wolf! 

Had a nice start on the FW30. Already added all the initial parts and as such the body is ready for painting. Even though that was what is prescribed, I think this may lead to some issues with painting, between that scale and multiple angles having to be covered to ensure coverage behind all the appendages. Oh, not quite visible on the photo, I opened the covers for the exhausts. Also added the initial bits of rear suspension on the floor and that is also ready to roll out to the base paint session.

You've got it Dave! Sorry to hear that the original build went wrong. Dang I hate it when that happens.  I'll make the changes and am looking forward to your progress buddy!

Can I add a Tamiya LaFerrari 1/24. I know I was down for a Revell version of this kit but it all went a bit wrong and I decided to move on to some other projects. My brother kindly bought me the Tamiya version which I have just started and plan to give it to him once it is completed. I figured it would be good to do it as part of this GB.

Mustang, that interior is brilliant, love the detail. Pedals are looking really sharp. And what on earth did you use as the mat material? Not the Taz footmats, the entire mat below that. Sorry if I slept and missed it.

I've decided to pack away the F2002 for now. Long deliberation and in the end choices were 09 Yamaha with Rossi figure and the Jaguar XJR-9LM. The Jag won due to me not having one correct colour for the Rossi figure. So you can put me down for a Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9LM. Will be using an SMS PE set with that (or as per usual "some of" it.) No updates yet, just marjed the instructions up to remember which parts should get PE.

Eric: Now this is a paint finish I'm really looking forward to seeing. Great work thus far bud!

Ok folks it's update time again. I've been refraining from posting too many updates just because I wasn't spending enough time at the work bench due to snapping photos and posting all the time. I've till gotta install the seat belts/buckles, the steering wheel and some accessories here and there but I'm getting there..........

Amazing grille work!

I checked the primer on the camaro today and it was smooth. Probably the best primer job I've done. I just wet sanded it with 12000 grit to smooth it out a little so the paint will lay good. After a good wash it'll be ready to paint tomorrow. I also have the paint for it mixed up. It's an enamel laquer nail polish called Black on Black (she's big into nail polish, go figure lol. Very glossy. Never sprayed this stuff before but it thinned out nicely. I'll practice a bit before goin' live tho hehehehehe.

I got a little done to the Camaro. I plan on getting the primer sanded and maybe shooting the first coat this weekend. I'm trying a new photo sharing method so if any has trouble viewing let me know. I knw some were having issues with the ones I was sharing from dropbox.

The shifter was alot of fun. First off I started with a straight pin with a black ball head on it and painted a white dot in the middle of the ball:

Then I painted two black dots in the white dot--One on top of the other--and then painted a white dot in the middel of each black dot, applied some Tamiya Smoke color to the shifter lever to darken the metal up a little and put a drop of clear on the shifter ball:

and then cut the original shifter lever off of this shifter boot from an AMT 88 Mustang GT kit that I had and then drilled a hole in the boot and inserted the shifter lever. A coat of dark gray and then some black pastel ground up and dry brushed on the shifter boot gave it that dull, leathery look.

Will have pics up of the completed center console soon............

Threw my back out changing lawn mower tires (thought they would be like bike tires but were worse the car tires hehehehe) but hope to get some pics of the Camaro up this week.

As I'm sitting here I am contemplating the future of this F2002 (Revell 1:12) I have also started. Not feeling the love there and may change that to something else and park that one for a later stage... will see.

Seabe: I'd really like to see what you could do with one of these in 1/25th scale if you can pull that kind of work off in 43rd scale. That is going to look good on the front page of this GB!! Which one do you want me to use? Lookin' forward to that FW30!!

Updates to the interior:

I am going to use seats from an AMT 1988 Mustang kit that I just recently acquired since it has two sets in the box. I'll also be using the center console out of it as well.
First off the seats sat too low for me.



So I managed to snake a small Lego to use as a platform:



Seat is right where I want it in regards to height after sanding the towers of the Lego down a bit:



So with that.....let's add some carpet to the equation:

This is my new build its a Brockway 587 resin cab from AITM with a Revell Dumptruck as the donor kit. I've started cleaning up the cab and sprayed some primer also striped the chrome off the rims that are going to be painted black and yellow. I've started the frame that will be shorten some as the Brockway cab is shorter than the KW in the donor kit. I'm going with a yellow cab with black fenders the chrome dump body will be stripped and made to a aluminum body.
