Seabe: If there's a blemish you're gonna have to zoom in on it for me cuz I can't see it. I do like that victory stance you've got goin' on there with it. Say , is that the one you want on the cover page? Lookin' forward to your next "victim". Wink

Dan: That cab and all the detail goodies are looking great man! You think you'll have it finished by the show?

Tim: Dang!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've gotta hand it to you, you really know your way around automotive builds bud. I think you've almost got it down to manufacturing standards now. Wow! The detail and paint work....................just plain outta sight!

lewbud: I do like the looks of that Tamiya Red on your Camaro and that tail light panel looks great in black. Great to see you in here building. Yes

Pawel: Good seeing you in here as well. You got anything you wanna build?

Everybody:  This interior just keeps getting better with each addition. I've got the door handles and window cranks as well as the Camaro badges on the door panels and the console is finished. The shifter is a bobby pin that I bent and sanded the shifter ball to get rid of a seam it had. Center gauges are from the PE set I bought. I'm going to buy another set of floor mats so I can fix that drivers side floor area. I'm not happy with that but I'll fix it. Here we are so far guys:

Mustang - that interior is a really classy and detailed job! Well done on that!

Haaahaha, it's those "can't be unseen things". I'll save you from that! But you can use the bottom pic...

Won't be too long before I pick up something. Just a bit busy - and also getting close to finishing a first for me on another GB, just for fun. So before too long you'll be seeing me again. Come to think of it - next week is final taper week, so I may have time on my hand - and frustrations to channel!

Joe, I love that interior!  I wil be using that as a reference for my '69 Camaro build for a friend's 1:1.

Finished up the interior chassis/exhaust on the '67 Shelby today. Just a few more things to button up on this one and it will be complete, which will hopefully be tomorrow.

I am 90% sure that the next 43rd build will be something completely different. I have taken out the box - and it's a PMA (never built any of their kits before. To boot, it's a subject I haven't built before either. It will be the 2005 Nissan truck used in the Dakar. Will obviously build the local boy's ride, with which he came 4th overall and won to stages.

Tim I like it and the gold parts on the chassis really makes it stand out.

Test fit with the blue paint.

Tim,

That looks fantastic!  I think I overheard you and Mustang talking about the Houston show coming up.  While I won't be able to make it, I would like to invite you, Mustang, and any other modelers in the OK-AR-LA-TX area ( or anyone that fancies a road trip to Dallas) to Scale Fest on 3 June in Grapevine TX.  I'd love to see the 68 in person.  Looking forward to more.

I've been able to reach a completion stage for the Modelmeana show with the cab. Will start working on the trailer again now that the cab is done. I still need to add some decals on the doors.

So, it will be the Nissan Dakar truck from 2005. I found out that it's a resin body. My first in aaages, since a Studio 27 F1.

Cleaned it properly. Layed down the first white base... Whaaat?! All botchy, almost looked like the body still reacted to the primer. Did some sanding on the primer and decided to fgo grey primer over this, some of which was sanded right down to the resin again...

Still some faint unevenness. Hoping a nice sanding and some white primer over that will get that all sorted and smooth.

All of that following in the weekend where I was hiper chuffed to have attempted and compeleted my first ultra run - so quite frankly, the fact that I got to work on anything was an achievement!

Man do I ever wish I could make that! I just got back from Dallas over the weekend and will be headed to the show in Houston. I've attended that Scale Fest show way back in 98 when I built a Hasegawa Dauntless Dive Bomber. Looking back, the build wasn't that great but I sure had fun at the show. I do thank you for the invite though. Yes

Seabe: Do you have any pictures of what you have done so far. The build sounds interesting and sorry to hear about your primer blues. Yikes!! What scale is it?

After a botched attempt at the first coat of paint and having to restrip and reprime it I've got COLOR!!! I ended up applying another coat of primer and smoothed all the imperfections out (a couple of freekin' dog hairs and some dust particles) and dispensed the paint into a paint jar and shot it through my airbrush. I had ALOT better results this time around fellas, however this paint does not play well with the air brush. Even after thinning the crap out of it I had difficulty in getting a uniform spray pattern to come out. I can't complaint too much as I'll be able to make this work out good in the end. These pics were taken after the results from my Badger 200. After these I decided to break out the much simpler Badger 350 and had a lot better luck with the pattern and a more consistent coat. I'm really going to be very happy with this color on this car is all I've gotta say:

Engine is still coming along. Resin Holley test fitted onto the motor complete with throttle shaft and throttle lever.

Hey Mustang, that is a nice blue you have there!

I have actually thought the same and took some pics - but now the site (photobucket) is down. So will add pics later! I have added the grey primer and still a bit uneven. I have now left it for a good two days and will leave it for today (at least!) still and plan to lightly sand it down before some white primer again.

It's a 43rd, so uneven paint job will look like craters! Will post pics later.

The promised pics...

Body in grey primer - about 10cm in length if I must guess. You can already see some of the painting irregularities (check the roof!) on this shot.

A bit out of focus, but the painting blobs up closer. Sorry - phones do have limitations!

Tim: I almost missed asking you this due to the sheer awe that I was in while looking at the finished product. Which picture would you like me to put on the intro post of the GB?

BTW..............Are you going to enter that Camaro build you're doing here? Just askin'.

Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been on much but it's been a busy few months. I had a slight accident with the 69 Camaro and somehow broke the right rear taillight grille and can't find the missing piece. That car is possesed I believe LOL. I shelved it for now until I can find another Camaro body. Pretty much everything else is done on it.

I'm currently stripping the paint on the 70 Road Runner. I tried paininting it whe nit was too cold and it came out not so good. I also want to add a vinyl top to it. It should be ready to prime later this week.

I did start on the Dirty Donny Super Bee. Here's a few shots of where I'm at with it.

I used sea glass for the base coat and then shot Model Master's Lime Pearl over it. I've also started building the engine and and working on the fron grille.

I'm trying to get as much done while I got a breather from other stuff LOL.

Thanks.

Eric.

I made it back home after 2 weeks away from building and had to get some time building before I go to the Modelmeana show today. So checking out the trailer today I decided that the wheel block out needed to be made smaller so I've cut them down.

Mock up with the smaller block out.
