Good job Rob , They look good as is.
Good ole Krylon.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Looks like you nailed it Rob- Krylon Fusion brand? I may have to give this a go myself.

Yes, Gam, works great. Can't even scratch the paint off with my fingernail. Very impressed with the finish too. Now, I'm going to spray regular Tamiya acrylic over that now, AND, there may be a bad reaction..we'll see later tonite.

i prime EVERYTHING using gray ACE Hardware NOW. have painted MMA, Vallejo and Vallejo Air, PolyS, and Tamiya over it with no problem.
working on the breech assy, currently running wire for the firing circuits which is quite tedious. have some PE to finish the exhausts on the generator and figure how to rig the crane.

Firing circuits? Holly cow Wayne, how detailed is this monster of your's?
The Gribeauval 12 pounder is coming quite well already. Hardly any parts so construction was light, just a few pieces. The barrel is painted with enamel brass and the rest is Tamiya (combination of Olive drab and lighter tones). The iron bands are Vallejo black and as it was historically said it rained a tremendous amount before the battle of Waterloo, I've muddied up the undercarriage and up the sides and wheels of the gun mount.
I'm going to look for some chains when I'm at the LHS on Sunday. The box art show chain draped on the front of the gun mount. I believe I've seen chain in the wooden ship section of the store, so, I'm hoping to get some. More updates later.
N I C E very Nice Rob

Looks great Pvt..love that metal barrel!! Wicked!!
Got some progress in on this project this wknd. Because I'm moving soon, I've decided to dispense with doing the dio...I will do that sometime down the road, right now, I just want to get this set done.
Here's the howitzer...this will be done tonight.
Here's the figs, primed black first with Krylon and here they are with a light grey acrylic base coat (the other guys's there to show what they looked like at the beginning)
I got ONE fig done today...I hate him...but, what can you do .......Anyway, here he is posed with his gun. I temporarily 'grassed' his base.
I'll post that howitzer and cannon together later on this eve.
Well, here's the howitzer...now, this gun I like...it's friggin' cool how 'stumpy' this thing was. I believe it's a 6" howitzer, but, can't verify, but, that's the best I can come up with.
Those look sweet Rob.
I don't know anything about French artilery, but the short large caliber gun looks like a mortar and would be capable of firing air burst rounds.
I will probably be totally embarrassed by the actual answer though.
Tony: Very cool!
Rob: Nice work, they look great! The figure looks pretty darn good to me!
Yeah, Steve, she is certainly stumpy enough to be a mortar, eh? But, alas, she's a Gribeuval 'obusier' 6 pouce which in english is a 6" howitzer..found a great article here:

Got the officer done. He was my, pretty much, entire evening last night.
And, this trio waiting in the wings for tonite's endeavour:
Your officer looks great Rob. I wish I could do so well with figures.
If the other figures come out as well as the officer Rob you're doing fantastic!
This kit is done. the guns are good to go and the 5 x Artillerymen are ready. I, some day, may put these guys on a base, but, i'm in a state of moving right now, and, I don't want to build a base until after I move. So, yeah, for all intents and purposes, the kit is finished. I couldn't find fine enough chains for the guns, like I mentioned previously, but, perhaps I'll find some someday. Anyway, here's the set:
Moving on to another GB, so, thanks for lookin' at this and thanks for this excellent GB. Cheers!!
Rob those figures look fantastic and such a great subject. This is going to look very cool, nice work.
Terry
Rob, fantastic work there, both the cannons and figures came out beautiful. And I had my doubts about the rubbery plastic! You knocked it out of the park!
Rob,
I got you posted on page 2. Nice job, especially since the plastic wasn't the best. I'll send you my figures from now on for you to take care of. The guns look great as well, beautiful weathering. The wood carriages look perfect. What did you use for the color? I'm scratching my head wondering what to uses for my 24 ponder's carriage. I know some were painted but mostly they look like they were left natural.
Rob if I could, would you change my build to a Hasegawa Karl-Morser in 1/72. I have several 1/72 pieces for a layout and i've been waiting to get this one completed.

Terry,
I got you updated. Good, I won't be the only one building a 1/72 Karl. Gotta have something for the WR360 to tow around.
That does sound like quite the process. I think I'll try your method, but use a brown instead of olive. W'e'll see how that turns out.
Yup..Steve, different shades of browns will look spectacular on that gun mount
Sorry Steve, i've been out of commission for a bit, thanks for the change.

i have one of those in my Choo-Choo stash. now i don't have just stashes but topic specific stashes. Takom is coming out with a 1/35 german dual 128mm FLAK.
Tracks came in this afternoon and one side assembled.
Have a good one Tony lee
Have a good one
Nice fit on those Tony, somethings are just worth the money.
I would've loved to have seen one of those in action, Its hard to believe so much fire power from that platform. Have to watch for a release, thanks. Terry
