PJ, Thank you... I would be happy to redirect some of this rain your way if I could! lol By the looks of it, its likely going to rain off and on all this coming week too! Dying to get my scoot on the road, but not possible at the time.
Bish, Thank you! Coming from You, the 72nd scale Guru, it means alot!
Jack, Thank you sir... I have a .85 mm (I think) needle and nozzel I seldom get to use, and it does come in handy at times. I used to (many moons ago) paint tanks and such on motorcycles, and it was used much more. But alas, I'm still doing OK, but time it catching up with me and neither the eyes or the hands work like they used to! LOL...
Thanks again guys... Have a great weekend!
lol them there ribs look so good. i bbq them the same way with apple juice simmering in the rap.
heres a better pic of the kit.
Doug, looking good there - that mottling particularly is impressive given the scale.
regards,
Jack
Looking good there Doug.
Well Doug, please send some of that rain down to me. We have water restrictions here cuz of lack of rain and man it's freaking hot!!!
Your paint on the 262 looks fantastic as usual.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Man with all the great work being done here and the interesting builds... Hard to keep your mind on the work after seeing those ribs! YUM!!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, Raining like the dickins here... has been for about 4 days now, off and on. Any way...Got some paint done but have to bring indoors to dry with the high humidity outside. (my work bench is in the garage) Takes too long outside right now.
Sprayed the entire thing with RLM 76 light blue...Then started hi-lighting upper surfaces with Grau Grun, and dunkle grun. Which will also make up the splinter on the upper wing and tail surfaces. The flash is kind of washing out the colors, but looks worse without.
A little mottling with the same grau grun and dunkel grun...
Like I said, a little hard to make out the splinter in the pictures, but they should darken a bit in future steps, Decals next... Take care all!
Like the look of that scheme Blackdog.
It dosent look like text showed up with the pic. I finnaly have my desk and PC set up and I'm ready to jump in this GB if you will have me. The kit is hobby boss TA-152 C-1/R14. And I plan building out the box. Maybe AF seat belts and possibly brake lines made myself. Paint and decals will be as on the instructions.
Looking forward to being apart of this build. The work already done is just awsom.
O and I see there's another one of this kit in the group. Should be fun.
Those ribs are lookin' good!

On deck: Who knows!
Lol I didn't read down before I asked my question.
Looks like mustang already answered my question. About using ca after dipping the canopy in future floor wax first.
I'm going to drop in with another build. This is one I picked up from a show this past weekend. Should be a quick build I hope...
rocker those ribs look good! My brother made a smoker a few years back and has gotten pretty good with it. Will be having something this weekend...I'm hoping for some pulled pork!
Folks, I don't even know what to say. The amount of craftsmanship and ingenuity you're all putting forth is amazing! I apologize for taking such a long break from the forum....my future in-laws and my fiancee bought me a brand new smoker for my birthday a few weeks ago, so I've been in the backyard all this time! But there's only so many ribs and beef cheeks one can smoke before you need a change of scenery. After dipping my 262's canopy in future and letting it sit for 48 hours, i attached it to the fuselage. I spent a few hours this evening masking the canopy with tamiya tape. I'll most likely head back down to the workshop in a few minutes to complete the task, but here's a photo of the progress so far:
and in case anyone was wondering, yes the first ribs I cooked on my new smoker were EXCEPTIONAL and the best I've made yet. Even the dog got a few bites!
I know what you mean about those brass barrels Jack. Thogh if possable i paint mine before fitting so i stick them into a blob of blue tac on a wooden peg and put in a boix for safe keeping.
Thank you MM, Bish, and TJ.
The FineMolds kit has the option to display the engine with the top cowl covers off. In that case, it would be better to keep the plastic machine guns as they have the perforated sleeves.
One other note, those brass details are tiny, and is best to glue them on once the package is open - really easy to lose site of them.
Nice detail in deed, love the work on the figure.
Nice attention to detail!
Yipes, almost three weeks since my last post.
Starting with the resin pilot, legs are too narrow a stance to fit. Had to snap them at the hips and re-pin.
While the putty was out to fill in the crevices, also fashioned an oxygen mask w/hose. The control stick was slightly short of his hand - replaced with some brass rod.
--------------------------
Some surface details need to be removed, as this is a G-10 kit being backdated:
Above (and below) the two indicated access covers are filled in with liquid putty. Not sure I can scribe the proper position for the cover on the nose - might just make the proper detail on a clear decal, stay tuned ...

MASTER gun barrels and pitot tube replace the kit parts:
Nice work on the 262 Doug.
That 262 is coming along quite nicely!
