If you choose to do this, please test it seriously first. I thought spraying lightly with some tinted thinner to modify the shade.

I think the chalk dust is ok too, I've used that before.

Cheers Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Not sure but will testing this out on some junk first.  Was thinking on using some chalk dust but maybe just misting with a better gray paint will work also.

How 68 ? Maybe with a filter ? Suggest you try it on some scrap plastic first, it's looking pretty good anyway.

Cheers

Thanks guys!

Here it is tonight. I sprayed the light blue on the exterior and in a few days when it's dry I wet sand and add another. The interior still needs some work with touch up and adding the chrome accents as well as the dash detail.

I really enjoy the occasional car.

Steve,

Absolutely amazing work on the '57. I love the color you picked. It looks like a sky powder blue.?.

Ditto! Great Work!

Man, 68, I sorta, kinda, see that, but it doesn't look way off the scale. Looks like what Model Master puts out to me. You're definitely getting to the finish line with her!

Bombshell has an early and a late Gull Gray so I just took 1965 as being early.  I'm hoping it will lighten up as I weather it.

That interior is looking great MC, I like the two tone seats.

68GT - I can see beige in that colour too. I know nothing about the accuracy of the colour though.

Regards

The 57 is looking real good!

Started back on the F-4B and I'm also trying out a new paint.  Its from Bombshell Brew Paints.  It kind of looks like Vallejo paints but I cant make a comparison because I've never used Vallejo.

I chose the early Gull Gray and it looks a little too beige to me but maybe its my eyes.

I worked a little on the 57 tonight. I installed the engine into the frame and painted the interior blue and white two tone. The interior white is still drying and masked so no pictures of it yet. I'm going to repaint the dark blue exterior to light blue.

Yes, I need to paint the exhaust pipes.

Lots of great progress, y'all!

Steve, do you mean that you have the old Revell F-111 kit? My dad still has the one he built in the early 70s, it survived me taking it "downtown" back in the day. Anyway, I'll update the front page with your choices, and you have six months to complete both kits after cutting sprue on the first one. Welcome to the gang, and I'm looking forward to seeing your builds!

Wow lots going on here. I am trying to get to building when I can, but I managed to get some paint down on the 102. I am going to paint as many markings as I can before resorting to decals.

I'll go for it.  1/48 Monogram F6F and a Revell 1/72 F-111A.  The Hellcat will have to wait for the 48 hour build in November.

Modelcrazy - that engine is looking great! DM, that P-51B & P-40 are looking awesome! I got quite a bit of seam work to do with my Mustang - I KNEW I should have clipped those locating pins!! So once I get the fuselage seams worked out and glued to the wing (and the front part of the radiator scoop on) I will be ready for some primer on mine.

Wow, I just finally got caught up with everything on the Thread! I haven't been getting any notifications that replies are made here. I can't believe I haven't posted since September 17th! It's definitely time to post my latest so you all know where I'm at now. Here goes....

On my P-51B Mustang, I painted the pilot and placed him in the cockpit of the plane and then sealed him in under the canopy. This plane is now ready for masking and paint, along with the P-40 that came with it in the box:

I then masked up the canopies on my P-40 and P-51:

Next came the primer. I shot these with Mr. Surfacer 1000...

P-40:

P-51B:

Once the primer was dry, I shot some Tamiya Gloss Aluminum over the P-51B:

And that is where I am now. Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome. I'll try to be more communicative if I can get the alerts for the Thread from FSM.

A little more work on the 57 engine. I added the sparkplug wires, heater hoses and radiator hoses.

I'm still working on the exterior paint and starting on the interior.

Great finish on the MiG Eagle! I need to add more Soviet stuff to the stash. Modelcrazy I really like the look of the P-40 in flight, it's a very dynamic display. Lodni it does indeed! All those clamps must have made sure you didn't end up with any gaps

Hope everyone's Monday wasn't too rough on them!
