TG&Y and models... now there are some old memories. I don’t have any memories of Monogram kits at the one by me... but a strong memory of several of the AMT Star Trek kits at that store. And Hawk models at the Sav On drug store in the same center...

These Mono kits are just too fun to build.  Nostalgic I guess, just remember as a kid learning how to build these kits with some strong orange smelling glu, mom's emery boards and those little bottles of Testors paint....ah, the good ole days.  LOL!

Eagle, those Trojans look fine, gear up or down. That is an an oldie but goody kit of that important aircraft. Can I ask you to get some finished build shots of them over a plain background?

Oldie but goodie is right.  That is one of the great Mono kits to put together.  I got one way back in the day at TG&Y for like $4!!!  Really had fun with them.

I'm going to try and post more pics of the Mig-15 progress too.  Here she is getting started.

Well, before I go and over do the weathering, I'm going to call them finished.  Not the best I've done, but considering the past few months for me. 

I did have a great time building them!  Now off to start the Mig-15 I promised the Dom I do.

Hey everyone...my apologies for the lack of posts and pics.  Between getting put in the hospital, hurricanes, trying to find a new place to put pics, and life in general...I've been neglecting the posting on FSM.

I have finally been able to get back into building and I have taken some pics and am now using Postimage for my pics. 

So....I have just about completed the T-28's!!!  I had a few set backs on each kit, but the builds turned out pretty good.  I did not notice until half way through the build of one of them that they did not have all the landing gear and tires!  So, that one is gear up.  Also, the decals for that kit just cracked and disolved when I went to use them.  So, I apologize in advance to my Canadian builders/friends....it was the only decals I had in my spares that looked good on the plane.  I'm sure they are no where near accurate, but they do look nice.  I went off from the norm on colors.  Went with a Navy Grey and traning yellow. 

Here's what I have so far.  They need just a little bit more work and they should be done today!

Here is the progress I have made on the Tomcat the last week or two. Started joining the fuselage halves this morning.

I suppose I will go on a binge and start this one while the tomcat is drying.

Yes, I’m looking forward to seeing the new Blade Runner. Of course I have to watch the original again before I do...

Aw man, oh well how about the recent re-pop of the 1/48 f-102 ? I believe it was a monogram mould right ? If so I will go with that one.

 

That one qualifies.

cb, apparently Revell did a 1/48 F-102 in the late 50’s. Way before the Monogram kit they sell now.

I want to change my second entry to the 1/32 spitfire mk22. There is no way I would be able to complete the huge B-29 by the deadline. Thanks.

 

That kit started life in England, courtesy of Matchbox. It’s not an original US mold, so it is not eligible. Sorry.

Ok Don Stik & Fellas.  Here are my entries.  Not sure which Jet I will pick. Depends on  Time of course. F-8 would be easiest for sure. need an F-8 in my collection   Family... 

Right now I am thinking the P-51 will be George Preddy's last mount.

P-47 will be 367th FG

Fw-190... who knows.. Might just do one of the box schemes!

F-8 , if chosen, will be a USMC job.. Probably VMF(AW) 312 or 122 or 

F-14A Option would be Hi-vis bird most likely. VF-143 is what I am thinking...

 

 

Stik I've narrowed down my project list for this GB. The P51 and F8 are out . Should have no problem finishing the P-47 and the 190 however they have hit speed bumps because the F-14 has been calling my name. I've got a good start on the Tomcat and will post some pics soon. I just got one of the Furball decal sheets in the mail and boy does it have some perrty schemes! Hopefully I can get the Tomcat done as a bonus build.

Gm,  ain't that the truth, no matter how many times I make space, it seems that I always end up with a usable work area of 2x2 inches.

Keyda, that sure looks like a Marauder! My first boss flew that in WW2, was shot down and spent the rest of the war in a Stalag. He just died a couple of years ago.

Hunter, I am very sorry that you'had to endure that. That happened to us twice. Really makes you treasure the one (s) that make it through.

The Avanti got shelved because I got distracted and work has been big, but hopefully soon.
