Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been in here (holidays, health stuff blah blah), but I've finally had some time to get back at it and got most of this Spanish Civil War 109E together.

The Eduard decals went down as they always do - amazingly. I gave it a Flory Grime wash, attached the wheels and am going to flat clear it this weekend and hopefully add exhaust and exhaust stains and call it good.

I actually lost one of the wing guns to the carpet monster so had to buy a resin replacement.

Untitled

UntitledAnyway, that's where she sits now.

Glad to beback at the bench!

PJ... Its the late 80s version, and thanks for reminder... I had read something about that the last one I did. Can't remember where, But I do have a couple very good books on the 190. I'll check them out.

Doug

The main issue is the enclosed main gear bay as in the A and F's. The Dora and TA's had partially exposed bottoms inside the wells and have some of the engine and plumbing visible in this area. Other minor issues are panel line placements and the angle of the mains which is not a big deal IMO. You will be busy with the pit which is nothing like Hasegawa's.

This builder went all out on his:

Doug, would you mind posting which books you have? I'm always interested in reference material. I know most of it can be found online but it's nice to have it in print right on the workbench sometimes.

I got the new mold 1/32 Fw190 F-8. I'll be doing it for this GB but not till later in the year.

That ROG F8 is gorgeous. Just the engine alone is a kit by itself.

PJ, excellent detail, REALLY nice!

Bish, great start...resin engine a plus...

5high... Good paint work... coming along nicely.

TJ... Emil looks good! The "E" is my favorite 109... Has a look all its own.

Andy, I was "yard sailing" about 2 weeks ago and picked up a Revell 1/32 190 D for next to nothing, already started, but just the engine built. It will have to be disassy, any way so if ok will you put me down for that as a next build?  I have to do a bit more research to come up with a staffel and color scheme. Keep up the great work all!  Thanks

Doug

Doug, that sounds good to me. I'll get you added. I got the new mold 1/32 Fw190 F-8. I'll be doing it for this GB but not till later in the year.

The Dora colors look great. Those brass tube guns also look great.

TJ

The Emil is shaping up great.

Doug

Thanks. Is the Revell Dora you got a ROG or the old Revell mold? If it's a ROG in a blue box then it's a Hasegawa rebox. If it's the old Revell one with the raised panel lines be cautioned about the incorrect wheel well configuration. The rest of the issues with it I can live with.
