Dan, what markings are you going to be using for your p-51K?

Hi all,

I have finally finished my Aussie GB Spitfire and was actually able to make a on my Tamiya 1/48 P-51B Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

The first thing I did was strip off some Tamiya gloss clear that I had previously sprayed over the base interior green. I stripped it off because the finish on the clear was rubbish, it was blotchy and splattered all over (this was the last thing I ever used my old Aztek on).

With the clear coat gone I went to work on removing the details in the cockpit so that I could fit my Eduard detail set. Once I've put the cockpit together I'll post some photos.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Daniel- The kit was OK. No complant's except the decals were junk. Came apart to easily. I used them, but most of them are pieced together. This was an AM first production kit (according to the slip of paper in the box), and I understand their early decals all had that problem.

Rick- Yea, they're fuzzy on mine too. I guess I tried to get too close again.

OK, I finished my AM P-51A. A filly is in the barn, now I just have to finish the Stallion.
Here are the 3 finished photo's I took:

I did a Future coat, Testors Dullcoat, and an acrylic wash over it all. Then used pastel chalk to weather it all.

How's everyone going? From the pics, you all look like you're going just fine.

My AM apache is getting there, one more flat coat should do it. I might have some pics up in a few days if all goes according to plan.

Jules,

Your Stang is looking mighty fine so Thumbs Up [tup]

As usual you are leaving me in the dust. I must admit I've taken a bit of a break over the weekend, but I want to finish the Spitfire this week so that I can start my Stang.

Cheers

YES!!!......I have progress. Got most of this dimunitve birdy together (including savagely warpped wings). Did a little detailing on the exhaust port - had to add
bulkheads and a curved section and rod, couldn't find any reference on what that section looked like but what I got is better than the nothing that was there - just got to add the door. Also started on the enginge, mounts and firewall. the aluminum tube is the flare gun port that AM didn't portray
