Hopefully all will be relatively quiet for the next month (when the next air wing rolls through and I'm sure to spend at least one week on the night page...)

if it DOES stay quiet I can hopefully get the workbench set up!!

Feel free to keep mentioning that for, oh, the next 5 years - because it sure don't feel that way when you have a week of working till 3AM Dead [xx(] Big Smile [:D]

I know what you mean. I used to do a lot of that a number of years ago. I could do it once, now, maybe twice and then my body would be telling me all kinds of VERY unpleasant things.
Hang in there and my thanks for doing your part in defense of our great country. I spent 12 years a hundred or so miles down the road from you at Beale AFB, CA with the Blackbird.

Wow! What a dio tankergeoff!
I haven't made any updates since september because I quit all the GBs (except one), but since I finished one of the models I wanted to make for this GB I decided to post a pic. So here is my finished Gandalf:

Actually it's almost done, the base needs a little touch up!

js, yes it is... great build. Here is my FINAL submission.... German Soldiers dig in at a Russian Farmyard early Spring 1942. ENJOY!!!!

The farm is a Verlinden kit, figures are various Dragon, Tamiya, Kirin, and Warriors.
I should add that the BMW was done for my insane build last weekend, and it worked perfectly into the dio..........

the problem with a marder is that it will just leave a smoking pile. for real traffic clearance, you need a Nicholma Logger Wink [;)]

Thanks reggie much appreciated.

tankergeoff, I can't see why not. If it hadn't been wet or windy or both I would have concocted a bit of a logging skid in the flower garden!!

what i am wondering is if my final pics can be a total diorama that i am completing or just my vehicle.... i'm working feverishly to get it done by the weekend, i just want to make sure the WHOLE thing can be part of my final submission or if it can only entail my marder II. thanks

Ok finally got time to take some pictures and present my "final submission"Big Smile [:D]

I must admit that after more years modelling than I care to think about this is my first serious attempt at weathering. Anyway I hope you find it interesting as something slightly different.

And just to show that the tracks on the logging arch rotate

The strops around the "logs" also work in the same way they do on the real thing ie the loop slips down itself and tightens around the log using its weight to remain tight. Also the strops slide along the main line, again as they do on the 1:1. Maybe I should try a full diaroma sometime.

Oh in case you were wondering the dozer model is 4.5 cm long. Maybe I'll do the logging truck in the same scale for this years Old Gun's GB??
