Rusty, even though I'm nearly finished, I think an extension would be a great idea.
Tom and Tanker could do with some more time, and I'm sure we'd like to see their finished efforts.

Tanker, I don't know about the Tamiya Zero, but I am working on the Hasegawa Type 52 Zero for the Pacific GB, and this is a fantastic kit.
Detail is ok, but I got the PE set for it anyway.
The kit really does fall together.

Would make for an impressive build IMHO

Rusty, I could use the extension... I was considering pulling out till you mentioned this... Not only some group builds but also a real life Xmas present for my dad I have to get built soon... I vote for Feb myself... might just change my build to the Widgeon I am doing for my dad.... and older airfix kit with little detail but I havent seen it done by anyone else so it will be interesting if nothing else...

Tanker, might I also recommend the Tamiya Zero... not as detailed as a few of the Tamiya builds but it looks great when done and fits together nicely.... the corsair as well, I am about 75% finished on one and it is a really good looking kit! Like Jules said, it builds itself almost... take your time and I see no probs... plus 1/48 is a good scale to start on... depending on the kit 1/72 can get tedious with the detail...
---Tom--- O' brave new world, That has such people in it!

Yeah i wanna start it now but i'm tied up with other builds, not to mention this is the 5th day of rainSad [:(]
Looking forward to Wednesday mateThumbs Up [tup]all i need is for someone to start up a 109 or a defence of the reich GB and i'd be setSmile [:)]

Tanker i hope you do make an A/C it's good to do something different every now and then, i'm 95% finished my Panzer 4 Flakpanzer and i've enjoyed building it very much except for all those wheels.......

BTW Reggie when i pick it up i'll post a pic of it next to a coke can so you can get an idea of the size, but i think your right when you say it looks big even in 72nd.....
Cheers Jules.........

Hey everyone, if there is more time needed to complete models and stuff I am considering extending the time of the completetion date by a month (feburary 1st) because of holidays and all of that , if you guys want send messages or email me... depending on the response I get , I will extend , if not, January will be the completion date....

They are good referance sites, with alot of little tid bits that prove very useful.

Would like to see that 109 lined up with some others!
A long line of yellow cowls, and a big red nose in the middle just to break it all upCool [8D]

Well, my 109 is 99% finished, been busy with Grand Finals this week, and next week everything returns to normal(ish).
Attached all the small parts tonight, the PE flaps and stuff that would get torn off if I put them on any sooner, and gave her the final blending wash, so now it's flat coat, and a few stains, should be done by Wednesday next week at the latest.

Gonna be one grotty looking bird!!!

That red nosed 109 of Hahn is definatly on the to do list but 05 is already starting to fill up with Gb's so i'm gonna have to refrain from joining anymore so i can get some other stuff done.............Jules........

What would be a good first-time corsair or zero for someone whos been strictly in the armor venture? thanx.

I'll be painting the Marder tonight during MNF........

Geoff i you want to build an A/C i'd have to say that Tamiya make great aircraft models....
IMHO the parts fit are second to none, they are a little pricey but they just fall together.....
The decal sheets are usually very good and there is exellent detail in all the parts......
I have a Tamiya zero which is still unbuilt but from the look of it i can say it's a great kit, although masking of all the framing in the canopy may be a bit of a choreThumbs Up [tup]
cheers Jules.....

Nah Jules, not one of mine, but since I saw that pic, I think the red cowl looks pretty cool.
You only ever see the yellow cowl on 109 builds.
Would be good too mix it up some.
And yeah, I reckon you should put both your spits on the A/C forum, something different too look at.

Tom, fringe builders are cool, we dare to tackle the subjects that have little to no real documentation, and in most cases no pictorial referances.
On the outside, it's a good place to be.

Jules, are you gonna post your Spit in the A/C thread?
It would be nice to see it there, being appreciated, considering it's not a Corsair, or Mustang etc etc etc.

I may be telling ya how too suck eggs Jules, but just in case.
From my books the R badge was to signify the Richthofen Geschwader, Gruppes I, II, and III of JG2
Kinda like an Uber JG Squadron.
