This posting is to all our boys in Iraq battling in Fallujah, while the big AC-130's strafe the insurgent enemy, keep your heads down and your trigger finger itchy....
I have edited my signature pictures wording to "Can you hear me now?", "GOOOD!!"

Aha, you got the storms that came over us and wiped out our power grid for 4 hours.
120 k winds etc.
No rain though, which is nothing new.

Will try that preshading method, and if it works it will sav me a BUCKET of time.

The trick is to get the preshade as even under the coats of green that follow......

Ok Jules, tell me how you manage to get so much of your preshade to show through the brown?

For the life of me, I have never been able to get the preshading to look right.
Always had to post shade.

hey you guys just to update!!!
Ok, here is the story......
I have been working on this M60 Battle Tank(Blazer) and the tracks that I recieved were all seperate links, well I glued them all together, massive amounts of glue massive amounts of praying and massive amounts of luck, anyway I just painted them, these HUGE gaps that I saw when i was first gluing them together, are all "settled" AMAZING, the track looks PERFECT, I let them dry for 2 weeks, and then painted them with a flat black, You CAN NOT TELL that they are anything BUT the way they are supposed to be, they are straight they are settled, they look PERFECT! Now I am going to weather them!!!!
I was so scared at first!!! I was like OH my god they look like SH*T!!, but now they look Perfect!!! is this possible??? Or am I just imagining it ????

Welp, I am building 3 models , 1 is complete(M40 bulldog) , un weathered basic kit .one is a m-60 Blazer, complete pain in the arse, one is a jeep out of the box that i am trying to make look as real as possible. My other project is a M*A*S*H* replica(yes of the show) all the tents and stuff, without vehicles, just the tents... anyway... thats my update, have pictures of your models submitted by the 1st of the year..... I would like 3 pictures of each models, the PICTURES will be judged not the models themselves, so remember that, I have a good eye for detail..... if there are pictures of models that I can't decide on they will be submitted to the group build members and they will vote......
Thank you for your support and understanding!

I noticed the pic I posted of the pedals in the cockpit was blurry, so I took another one showing clearly the PE pedals, and the dry brushing with Alclad.

The Alclad gives a better finish IMO, on such a small scale it looks ALOT less chunky than normal acrylic or dry brushing silvers etc.
The only downside is the messing around to apply it, seeing as the laquer drys so quickly, you have to constantly 'wet' the mix down time after time, but thems the breaks.

Yeah Jules, there is film behind the panels, should have those done tonight, and then some ass'y time, I hope.

Tho, I'm thinking almost the same for the BoB build.
I'll finish this one soon, then I'll do one model for the BoB, set it aside, and do the second one when the BoB GB starts.
Inbetween, I have a resin Fokker G-1 to build for my Dad, hope to have it done by his birthday in January, but that might be pushing it.

Sadly for this one since the OS2U took a dive, I am working on the 240Z but a F6F at the same time I might incluse if I finish it first... then a break... not starting the BoB group build till it's time!

Ok, just a couple of pics of the nearly finished c/p on my G14

Should be finished, but out of the last 2 weeks, I have managed a grand total of 2 afternoons hobby time.
Reality really gets in the way sometimes

The last one shows the canopy masked with BMF.

The last few days I have gotten no modelling done and I think it is burn out... too much, too fast.... I have all of the time in the world for these builds so I don't know why I have been rushing!

You are so right. I have just finished one GB and the next will be completed by the end of November so I can now start to do the preparetory work on the dozer and logging arch. I can feel that old enthusiasm for a new project coming on........

Didn't even think of thatBanged Head [banghead]

Oh well, the stuff I made up is ok, just gotta do some shading on the side walls etc, bit of dry brushing with Alclad, (it gives a finer finish, and looks more realistic in smaller cockpits), then hopefully onto fuselage ass'y.

"Progress report" Just finished cutting the masks for the Spitfire MK1 in the Type B scheme but i still have a little bit left to do before painting, mainly a coat of primer and preshading which won't take long so hopefully i'll be posting up a pic by the end of the week........
BTW i completely forgot to order some RAF code letters and serial no's for Pat Hughes's Spit so i'm going to go with the kit decals, probably Baders machine...
Cheers Jules..........Thumbs Up [tup]
