There is a Tamiya 1/32 F-14 Black Knights that I might bid on... it's 60 bucks less than ordering it! I think it is 75.00 or so.

I love those Tamiya kits. They have so much detail. But the List price of those things are unreal. I would like to do one of the F-4 kits or the F-15E. I have not been doing much model stuff lately. I hope you get the model on EBay.

I have some art work done that we could use for our GB badge but I don't have a photo host yet. If someone else does, I could email it to you. Let me know.

I think I am going to go ahead and do an account with photobucket this week sometime- I'll let you know when I get it done and we'll upload it there. I bet it looks great! I've got one almost done but I am trying to find an image to put into it and not having much luck. Anyways, I agree with you on the prices of those Tamiya kits. I'd love to do an F-4E in the 'Chico the Gunfighter' scheme on the last page of the latest FSM. I checked out the guy who was selling that 1/32 Tomcat on Ebay and he didn't have the best track record. It would ship from overseas and a lot of folks had shelled out lots of money for him to not get the product. Besides, after shipping it would bring the price to 130 bucks and thats two Tamiya 1/48 scale kits. I am going to put the hunt for that kit on the backburner for a while. Well, the GB date is slowly creeping closer- very slowly... Later fellas, I've got to study for two exams.

I shot the image to Reggie. He has a Photobucket account. I am going to open one myself very soon. I have been had by one guy on EBay. I received 3 empty model boxes with no parts. I would like to know where all the kits were? And he was taking a bunch of people at the same time. He was caught though and is facing mail fraud amoung other things.

Been looking at getting the True Details resin cockpits for the F-14's. I have dealt with their stuff before and always had good results.

Alright guys..... Here's my entry for the GB badge. It's my first go at making one, so go easy on me. The other one that's floating around looks great, but I thought I'd give it a go antway, and see how you guys like it. Here it is:

You don't have to use it, just tell me if you think it's any good. I'm trying to learn all this image editting stuff. But, you can use it if you want to.

That Black Box cockpit is great!!! What detail. I have one of their F-16 cockpits in 1/32 scale and it is wonderful. I have to get some work done on these A-4's.

I can't wait to tackle the BlackBox Cockpit! It's sitting here waiting for me. Here are some progress photos of a 1/72 Has Super Bug for the Nav Av GB- can't wait to get it done and start working on something bigger- LIKE A TOMCAT!
Later fellas.

The super bug is looking very nice mate. Good to see some pics of it. However, when you posted the pics, you seem to have put them in your signature, so that every post you've ever made will have those pics beneath it. Posting them in the main body of you're message would be better.

The photos are pretty good, but to get the close up ones in focus more, try your camera on macro mode (if it has one). This allows you to get the lens much closer to the object that you're photographing. Absolutely nothing wrong with the model though. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the recommendations pingtang! It does have a macro mode and I will try it out when the lady brings the camera home from work. Hopefully I'll be able to zoom on the details and give a better picture of what is going on in the 'front office'. I realized that I put it in my sig after I posted- I'll fix it. Thanks again!

Great looking Super Bug. I still like the Tomcat better! I have been itching to build my EA-6B also. BUT, the 2 A-4's have to get done first.

I agree... the Bug is nice but the Cat is the real looker. The photos really don't show all that much- I have made much more progress since. Thanks for the kind words, Mark. Is that EA-6B the Revell 1/48 kit? My LHS has it but I think my closet is full enough. I'd love to have that one. I've done a monogram Intruder- it's one of my favorites, even if it was one of my first builds. So many years ago. I

It is the Monogram kit. The unfortunate part is that they use the A-6 wings. Which are not correct. But it is still a very impressive kit. It will look good next to my F-14, S-3B and F/A-18D. Groups of 1/48 kits always looks great together.

you are giving me ideas, mark- too bad the hobby budget has been exhausted for a while. Whose S-3B is that in 1/48?

It is the AMT/Ertl kit which really was a reissue of the ESCI kit. Great model with lots of detail. I think Italeri has reissued it now. I Microscale decals from Desert Storm 1991. Intersting suject since it is lo vis decals on a hi vis paint job. I will send a pic.

I'm ready to go... I sold the Hasegawa to a pal and am using the Academy 1/48 Tomcat instead- on closer inspection I really like this kit. I've got the black box cockpit to go with it but it looks to need a little 're-sizing' to fit. I think. The TwoBobs 60th Ann. Jolly Rogers decals are stunning and for ten bucks a great deal. So far I have spent 50 bucks on this, all in all not too bad. That was the price for the Hasegawa kit before shipping!
Mark, thanks for the info on the EA-6B... the LHS has it but I have exhausted my kit budget for a while. He says he can get them anytime. So sometime in the near future... The photo of the S-3B is very sweet, indeed. Nice work, pal.
I have shelved the 1/72 Super Hornet for a little while. The Nav Av. GB is over on Dec 31 so I figure I have time. All that is left is to paint the fuselage and apply the decals. I'm not going for the paint scheme provided in the inst. I've tried and perfected a wash technique that will really bring out the panel lines. The real reason I shelved the Hornet is when I was at Hobby Lobby for the much 'threaded' sale I picked up a Tamiya 1/35 M1A2 Abrams and I am back in the saddle for some ARMOR action. It has some innacuracies but I am stoked to begin. it's my namesake after all... I missed the tanks.
My big news is that I am going to use this M1A2 for a dio that I am going to do for the 2005 Atlanta show. I've got an idea kicking around that comes from a image I got off of CNN.com. The other is... I am going to use this Tomcat from the build for a carrier deck dio that has an elevator, weps on the vehicle, and the crew standing in front of the aircraft. That means I am doing this bird wings swept and I have some pics gathered for that. I've never entered a contest other than a local one when I was 12 so I am excited. I found some carrier detail equip that I think will work for this...
Sorry to spout but I am excited to have a focus for these two kits and I am ready to begin- just gotta complete this pesky hornet sometime soon. Later fellas.

I thought about going down to Phoenix for the Nats but I couldn't get the time off. I hope in 2006 or 2007 they may be closer. I have heard that Seattle may be on the plan for '07! I am aquiring a Tamiya model of the WWII version of the USS Enterprise carrier. I am going to build it in honor of my Grandfather who had to rebuild it after the Battle of Midway. He and my Dad have told me about seeing it come into Bremerton Naval Shipyards smashed to bits!
I have all 3 of my F-14 kits and the decals. The 2 F-14B's will be VF-11 Red Rippin' Muthas 75th anniversary schemes. The F-14D will be VF-213 Ramapant Lions over Afghanistan. The decals are from Two Bobs.

I'm ready to go! I've got Hasegawa's F-14D in 72 scale which I'll be converting to a "B" and using TwoBobs decals for VF-11's CAG bird. I just might sneak in another one as well. I'm thinking VF-211 in the gray-over-white with the red and white "checker board" on the tail. Or maybe...
