                        It just shows how much budget constraints have slimmed our airforces down worldwide! I didn't realise there were so many British teams over the years. Nowhere near as many teams around now, nor airshows for that matter! There was even talk of disbanding the red arrows earlier this year. I can't see it myself. They do such a great PR job for the RAF. Mind you, people probably said the same about Concorde and BA! Lets hope not.

                        You know, You'd like to think that the RAF would never let go of the Red Arrows but I remember growing up thinking that things like the Lancaster and Vulcan were too important to RAF History to let them go but look at em know, down to one operational Lancaster and I dont know about the Vulcan but last I saw there was only one operational and that one was flying on donation money.... :( If they can let go of these surely they wouldn't loose too much sleep over axing the Arrow

                        Sentiment comes second to budget. Just look at the Black Watch Regiment in Iraq. UK government are threatening to merge them with other Scottish regiments, but they're quite happy to send them to the front line...makes you think!

                        Coming from a smaller country, I've seen how budget cuts can affect Aerobatic Teams... The Belgian Red Devils have been gone for years and all the Belgian Air Force can really afford is the odd special decoration for such or such anniversary. Having said that, there's been quite a few of those over the years..!

                        Yes, the ones that spring to mind immediately are the F-16 Tigermeet schemes.

                        Didn't someone manufacture a kit of this? Was it Revell?

                        Alas, I have the perfect model for this GB, but unfortunately I have other models that need to be built first. But if I could start in like feb. mebbe I could join. When is the start and finish dates for this thing? (BTW I would theoretically and hypothetically be building a mig-29 from the Ukrainian flight demo team. If I was joining that is. Which I want to but can't.)

                        Tankamaster, Feb is as fine as anytime in this GB. There's no finish date... It could go on forever.. Mwoaaaaahahaha!

                        Fiasco, yes that Tiger Meet F-16 comes to mind. Revell had it in its catalogue both in 1/72 and 1/48, I believe... Daco Products have a number of decal sheets for other 'anniversary' Belgian Air Force Mirages, F-16, F-104, Alpha Jets, C-130, SeaKings,...

                        Please include me in with Hasegawa's 1/48 F/A-18A in Blue Angel markings. I've seen the Blues and the Thunderbirds from Phantoms to A-4s and T-38s to F/A-18s and F-16s. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing any of the foreign teams, but I'll bet they're great! Looking forward to this build!

                        No worries Maikong sadly my current job puts infront of a computer alot more than Id care to be with little to do but surf the net. This is actually kinda fun for me. Now if I could only convince my NCOIC that I would be more productive building models at work. The badge is further back in the thread where I posted the others.

I used the photo you posted as I have a feeling this may have some kind of sentimental value for you? if not I have another pic I like more. Its up to you.                         I got started on my kit today. Mostly inspecting peices and seeing what Im gonna have to do. This kit is terrible. Lotsa flash, Injector pin marks every where, thin poor quality plastic, lack of detail. POS decals... This kits only saving grace will be that by dry fitting it seems to go together well. How I dont know. The fuselage is broken down into 6 PIECES!!! 2 nose, 2 main body and 2 tail....
                        I think Im gonna go ahead and do Revells 1/72 Red Arrow at the same time I do this one. I eventually plan to build all 9 arrows and try and do em in an inflght formation.

                        Just started mine today also. Building Revell F-84 as a Skyblazers plane from 1952. Kit looks nicely detailed should be a fairly simple build.

                        it's a tamiya kit in 1/100 scale... that'll b my backup, never done 1/100

                        Hey guys...wondering if I can join the build. This will be the first time I've join a group build....it should be fun...looks like you guys are already having fun!

                        I'm going for 2 kits. First will be the 1/72 Has. Blue Angels F/A-18. It will be OOB, but I will be building a matching Gundam robot...more on that later. Second kit will be a Canadain Golden Hawks kit...my wife was in Toronto years ago and I build this kit. I loved it...it got destroyed in a move and I recently found the same kit again, so I'm really looking forward to it. I will post pics as I get them done. I'll probably start on the Blue Angels kit sometime after the Christmas holiday. Glad this one is open-ended! LOL!

                        Well, I've started on the 1/48 Red Arrows Hawk.
                        I've put the ejection seats together. What a disappointment, poor fit, no harnesses. I'm really tempted to get an AM set but the cost is prohibitive.
                        Question is do I go all out and add the extra detail or straight out the box?
                        I know if I start adding detail it'll take me ages to complete, but will I be satisfied as is?
                        What do you guys think I should do?

                        Fiasco I'm building my F-84 pretty much out of the box just adding a little detail using bits of plastic and wire. You could make some belts using tape and wire for buckles.
