                        Question: I have yet to find any actual clear reference pictures so that i can put the right tail #, etc. So... does it have to be historical, or can i just apply random numbers as long as it looks genuine?

                        Frosty (and Jeeves!), thanks for the info. Been surfing for info on Tuskegee P-39 and came up so far with very little.. I'd have loved a colourful bird but it remains elusive so far. I suppose I can always go for the one shown in the sketch if I do not find anything else. My P-39 is the Academy offering, Frosty. Looks like a neat little model.

                        & it would b great 2 have another Texan in the build, i found a testor's Texan in 1/72
                        but i think it's the Navy version so i'm not sure if it would do 4 this subject.
                        & bravo 2 u 4 modeling the 761st TB !!
                        i had never heard of those guys until i started my Tuskegee research !

                        ok, only a weekend & change until the official start of the group build, people !
                        18 ( or thereabouts ) of us will b working on a/c flown by Tuskegee Airmen...
                        by the time we r done, we will hopefully have a pretty good representation of the various types of a/c they flew, from trainers 2 fighters & even the B-25 bomber used by the 477th Composite group.
                        thanx 2 u all 4 joining me in this tribute,
                        i'm looking forward 2 building w/ u over the next month (or 2, or 3....Wink [;)])

                        Hope to finish my 2 T-28's this weekend. One in NMF and one Camo from the 1st Air Commando Sq in Vietnam. But have been working on P-47D for Pruitt's a/c as well. The 2 T-28 are a 'C' and a "D" with VN colors. I had the opportuinity to fly in both in '62/'63.My 2 cents [2c]
