Unfortunately that argument never seems to cut the mustard with my wife when I'm trying to justify buying PE and resin detail sets Big Smile [:D]

Ditto 2 Brandon, great find !!!!!
Calvin:
no worries, no rushing necessary, just take ur time !
& it would b great 2 have another Texan in the build, i found a testor's Texan in 1/72
but i think it's the Navy version so i'm not sure if it would do 4 this subject.
& bravo 2 u 4 modeling the 761st TB !!
i had never heard of those guys until i started my Tuskegee research !

have any of you started? i'm about 1/2 way done with my B-25 fuselage... now i've just got to detail it and add the machine guns, etc. It's kind of a pity putting all this detail into the inside of a bomber though, because you'll never really see it. Sad [:(]

Frostygirl:
Capt. Pruitt's P-47D, Razoback was NMF w/red nose ring and entire tail. Trim tabs are yellow along with wing bands. Black anti-glare panel on the nose and A/C # is 39. "Alice Jo" isn't indicated but since his P-51D had the name, I'll put it on mine. This is the info provided with the Testors kit #520.Sorry that my scanner is DIFM.My 2 cents [2c]

Tuskegee Iron Dogs were not too colorful from what I have read- just your basic olive drab over neutral gray with a red spinner.....

Frosty (and Jeeves!), thanks for the info. Been surfing for info on Tuskegee P-39 and came up so far with very little.. I'd have loved a colourful bird but it remains elusive so far. I suppose I can always go for the one shown in the sketch if I do not find anything else. My P-39 is the Academy offering, Frosty. Looks like a neat little model.

As it seems to be difficult for me to find AM decals, I'll have to settle with the decals provided with Academy's P-51 (the kit hasn't arrived at my HS yet)

On the bench : Revell's 1/125 RV Calypso

check the sketch posted earlier by Jeeves, linked in next post.

QUANTO COSTA decals r included in this THREE GUYS REPLICAS sheet:

http://www.amtechmodels.com/tgr_view.cfm?Item=TGR48017

the only problem is they r in 1/48... u could possibly scan/reduce/print in 1/72, or use them as a pattern 2 make new ones , maybe ?
BTW: will u b building the Academy Airacobra kit or the Heller one ?

brandonp51:
welcome 2 the build, & congrats on ur choice of subject !
i thought u mite b predisposed 2 doing a mustang based on ur handle...Wink [;)]
as far as historical accuracy goes, it's up 2 u how far u want 2 dig...
if u can't find pix 2 work from, just do the best u can.
i certainly won't complain or nitpick !
good luck w/ ur B-25J !

Well, these are pretty much the only pictures i've found for the 477th (if anyone else is doing a B-25)

(This patch is for the 618th Bomber Squadron)

Here's a good site.
