Looks good Jeeves! Guards Red is what my decals list as the tail color so you might not be far off... Not sure which I will use so I guess I will have to compare pics and see which is more aesthetically pleasing when it comes time to paint it...

OK-- finally something to show off Wink [;)] I haven't sprayed on the OD on the upper surface yet- thus the red overspray- but here is my P-47 so far.....my LHS was out of Insignia Red so I used Guards Red instead and am quite happy with the results....

Jeeves:
thanx 4 the info, & that link was great 2 see !
someday i will have a TA shelf in 1/72 & i hope it will look
even half as good as those builds !!!
i am inspired 2 get 2 building my academy p-51c kit,
& i mite have 2 break down & order a stearman PT-17,
because the one on there looks so slick !
(& because nobody has claimed that a/c yet; i knew it wouldn't b
too popular ! )

I am doing a Tuskegee Jug....there won't be a name on it per se....so that will be obscure Smile [:)] I will also eventually be building INA the Macon Belle-- Lee Archer's ride-- not sure when I will start it, but since this is an open-ended build I figure I'd add it. In my wanderings-- I found this link at ARC that might be interesting for some of you:

note to all TAGB builders:
would everyone who knows which a/c they r building
please repost the name asap ?
i know some folks weren't sure, & some mite have changed, so....
this will give us an idea of which a/c still haven't been spoken 4.
not that it matters 4 the build; if somebody is already doing the a/c
u want 2 build, that's ok too...
i just want 2 add them 2 the builder's list up top...
thanx,

i know BUNNIE was a D model, & there is no racy nose art on that a/c,
only the name printed in red w/ black outline...
e-mail lodni_k & he will hook u up, i'll bet !

Frosty, could you also add my name to the list for people that need decals.Blush [:I] I have the 1/48 Hasegawa P-51D "332nd Fighter Group" kit and, since I'm gonna be building the 1/72 Mitchell & Academy Mustang ( and maybe the T-6Tongue [:P])I thought I would put this out there. Now, I will need the regular stencils 'n stuff but if someone wants to model "Little Freddie" or "Bunnie" all they need to do is email me w/ addy and I'll send em out to them. Big Smile [:D]I needed this kit for a 1971 Guatemala Air Force F-51 'Stang @ La Aurora Air Base.Tongue [:P] - Calvin

BTW - really great work, everyone!!

Dear oh dear Joe, that sure looks like a heck of a challenge, but I'm sure you're good enough. As Jules said, it's time to break out the putty.

Mental note to self, avoid ICM P-51C at all costs Whistling [:-^]
