hmmm I seem to remember seeing a flash on that somewhere Rick... wonder what is in the works.. (here's where rumors get started) the GB's I've been in are one of the biggest reasons I am still here... I'd hate to see them mess with them......

So far, all I've seen officially from the Admin. is no more Stars & Rankings & they are adding Avatars, which "could" mean no more Sig Tags (pure speculation on my part). The GB Forum has been a source of complaint from several of the members, so at least some changes in format or rules would'nt shock me.

Jules The D520 sounds like a great idea, still pondering the posibilities at the moment, but I fancy a Fiat CR32. It would go nicely with the CR42 I'm currently working on, which oddly enough will an NA machine.

Hmmm... another BOB GB... I'll have to start thinking more about that... on a side note I took out the Bf-110 I started way back before BOB I was beginning and am working on it. This is a really good kit so far... I sanded all seams away in a record 15 to 30 minutes last night.. About to attach wings today so I will let you know how the gaps are at the roots... This is the 1/48 Fujima Bf110 C/D for those who don't remember that far back... (gee, it's only been a year!)

on another very side note... isn't it good the whole world uses the same time measurement? I mean I was thinking about when I am explaining stuff here sometimes I will put a measurement in both metric and US Standard measurements so all know what I am talking about... imagine if we had two different time measurement systems?? Ok... I admit it, I am bored this morning...

Another BOB? Hmmm... Italeri just re-released their their Italian BR. 20. Now that would be fringe. As for NA I'll have to give it some thought.

I too really hope that the changes to the forums, primarily the GB's are not too drastic. They can do what they want with the sigs and avatars, stars etc. but don't change the essence of the GB!

Tom The units of measurement may be the same for time, however they are all relative to your geographic location. After all your 15 - 30 minutes probably ocurred while I was asleep! Yes I'm bored too, can you tell!

I think we should have a special category for obscure entries to GBs, perhaps with the award of the Golden Fringe for the most obscure!

Speaking of fringe i may go there to a certain extent for the next NA GB, I'm planning on doing a Spitfire in desert colours with some US markings on her, It's not really Fringe Fringe but it is kinda the diet coke just one calory[/b] type of fringe....
Now for the next BoB GB, Hmmm i wonder whether or not any Spits from the initial production batch of MKIa's with the thin radio antenna and 2 bladed prop saw any action during the BoB.....

Jules - if you stick a 55mm howitzer on it and call it a ground attack spit it would definitely be fringe!!!

I'm a little scared at the number of people going fringe lately... it's an ugly state of mind and it makes me hurt to see so many sliding into it..

actually it makes me hurt because it's going to be harder and harder to find fringe... of course if everyone is building fringe and I choose ohhh.. let's say an Bf109 or a Spit... then actually *I* would be fringe... hmmm.. I guess it would be ok...

Tom There was an awful lot of 'Fringe' in the North African theatre, and it wasn't all to keep the flies off!

Some of the Hurricanes delivered along the Takoradi air supply route from Ghana in West Africa were delivered to Khartoum in temperate camo with white fuselage spines. A scheme some of these aircraft retained as well as gaining 'spaghetti' camo along the leading edges of the wings over the temperate camo. The USAAF used the same ferry route for P40s etc, see the link below;

The Italians used a variety of hardware in NA, both on the ground and in the air, including the CR 32 & 42, G50 etc. There are some good kits appearing of Italian AFVs as well, such as Italeri's Autoblinda, see link below;

There's also a great photo of a CR42 with crudely applied RAF roundels being used as a squadron hack following capture, and a simialy pic of a Hurricane with hastily applied balkan kreuz.

The possibilities for fringe are endless, especially when you think that the bulk of the Afrika Korps transport was English!

Tanky, any photography outlet should have background paper. You can also get large sheets of colored "construction" paper at any art supply store. At least around here, can't speak for the wilds of NJ .

Karl, no, this one saw action for several months before it crash landed at El Adem, Libya, in 1943 & was captured by British forces.

Tanky - I got me some blue construction paper about 21" x 17" and it works pretty good... I think it was about $3.00 for a pack of about 50 sheets of varying colors... but they did have the blue in there the same shade as Rick's

Nice looking build Rick and a subject that you don't see very often. Not likely to win the Golden Fringe or anything mind you but it is nice to see something different.

Tom you started this whole fringe thingy with those cross dressing martlets of yours so don't you dare go straight... er.... I mean mainstream on us!

It's OK, I hijacked one of my mom's shades she used for something (ridiculous purpose like "window covering" or something) and am using that. It is a lighter blue, but does provide an improvemnt over the table cloths, as I didn't think FSM would take kindly to the flower pattern...

Jules The first 77 Mk I Spitfires delivered to the RAF in 1938 had a two-bladed, fixed-pitch propeller. Subsequent aircraft received three-bladed, two-position airscrews and these were subsequently retro-fitted to the earlier aircraft. By 1940 all Spitfire Mk.Is had a 3 bladed prop, sorry.

All I posted a couple of questions to the admins about the changes to the forums coming soon. So all I have an answer to is that they will definitely force resize a sig down to regulation size. No word as yet on any changes to the GB forum, post count and a couple of others.
