Lemme guess, the left wing was the .5?

Was it an issue because of paint flow, and not getting a tight enough pattern??

And I think the preset handle will go fantastic.
I did a 'Dodgy Brothers' effort oon the Omni by getting a couple of hose clamps and attaching a nut to the end of the airbrush, then screwing a bolt in to act as a needle travel limiter, worked ok for the most part.
--Sean-- If you are driving at the speed of light and you turn on the headlights, what happens???

Crap is it that noticeable? Oh well it's too late to re-paint now so I'll just have to live with it.

The problem was a combination of maintaining a small enough paint flow (which of course is much easier with the .35) and maintaining a tight enough pattern.

I'm challenged enough just getting an acceptable job out of the airbrush. You huys knock me out with those complex and difficult schemes.
I'm just putting the finishing touches on the WIldcat, think I can just scrape in by the 15th. I decided to go some extra effort on the weathering. I think it's been worth it, but it cost me a couple of days.
Darren - are you going to Eagles Day on Sunday, should be a ball tearer !
Cheers
Tony

Tony congratulations on your 100th post Party [party]Propeller [8-]Propeller [8-]Party [party]

I'm just about done now with both the Kubelwagen and the Bf-109E7, the decals are on and I've just given them both a wash of Burnt Umber W&N oils. Next will be a flat coat, the little bits and pieces, some pastel work and then a final flat coat.

I'm going to try and get to Eagles Day at least for an hour or two, but we have visitors coming that afternoon and I'm still negotiating with the boss to be allowed out of the house.

Cheers
Darren

Hey fellas don't rush the finishing up on your builds cause i'm gonna extend the deadline again (for the last time) until the OCT the 31st, That gives you about another 20 days to get them finished, and besides that will give me enough time to finish my little suprise build...Thumbs Up [tup]

BTW Darren is your 109 gonna be Black Eight Ball [8]Question [?]

Just when I've managed to finish the MS406!

Well almost, just a touch of matt varnish on the PE gun site I fitted last night.

I'll post some pics at the weekend while the missus is away and I get the Mac to myself for two whole days.

OK, got the basic painting done on my second build for this GB. Can't believe it was way back in June when I finished the first build. This one is alll Futured & ready for decals Smile [:)], Kit is the Hasegawa 1/48 Hs129B-1. Paint used was ModelMaster & Floquil enamels. The basic painting was done with a Paasche H3 AB, but the blotch mottle was done freehand with a Badger 100LG AB.

Didn't think I'd make the deadline for the end date, but with the new extension I think I can (hopefully).

Rick - looking good! I am contemplating doing a N Africa Storch soon and that is the scheme listed for it... should be interesting at that scale... I think I might need a new airbrush! Wink [;)]

Jules - mystery build??? no one said anything about mystery builds! Besides when you show it to us it won't be a mystery anymore now, will it?

How about "henceforth called a mystery build until I show it to you then we'll just call it a build, build"

Or you could wait till you post it and then call it "the kit formerly called the mystery build" it worked for Prince, huh???

hmm just an odd thought here Rick... have ya built the 1/32 Monogram (i think) Storch? was wondering how the fit is.. personally I consider it a beautiful plane in it's own fashion and need to add one to my collection...

Tom, thanks for the comments. Sorry, I haven't built the 1/32 Storch. I keep waiting for a decent 1/48 kit, but so far nada.

Looking good Rick. Do you paint the white fuse band first and then tape it off for the camo? Whatever you do it looks great. Nice job on the camo too.

Jules cool I love surprises Big Smile [:D] and yes I'm doing Black Eight.

Also the extension should give me time (I hope) to finish the two figures that come with the Kubelwagen

Rick that's great looking camo work on your Hs129B-1. I really appreciate the work involved in doing those damn irregular splotches.

Karl I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product on your bird.

Hi Everyone,
Here is my F4F-4 Wildcat, built from the Hasegawa kit. It's in the markings of VF-9, operating from USS Ranger during Operation Torch in November '42. I finished it at 11:11pm, 14th October local time and have rushed some shots for the GB.
Hope you enjoy the photos, sorry 'bout the poor quality shots, I might try again tomorrow.
Cheers
Tony

Hi,
Thanks guys. I'm too much of a slob with the airbrush to pre shade. I use a sludge wash, flat coat, then apply powdered chalk pastels, the nanother flat coat, then paint chipping etc.
Cheers

Tony The Wildcat looks great. You've done a really nice job with the chalk pastels.

Rick Glad you've been able to the Hs129, the camo looks great.

Darren Looking forward to seeing 'Black 8'.

.....and I still haven't got around to putting the matt varnish on the gun site! Pathetic I know!

Tomorrow should see it done, and some photos.

Tony great looking Wildcat you've got there she looks fantastic Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup], what kit did you use?

:::Progress Report:::
I struck a small problem tonight when I was unmasking the canopy after the final flat coat. It seems one panel in the windshield has decided to fog, which to me looks pretty crappyAngry [:(!]. The strange thing is I didn't use CA glue anywhere near the cockpit and all the rest of the canopy glass is just fine. Does anybody know how I might fix this, or am I going to have to live with it?

Darren I'd be inclined to apply another coat of Future with a brush, hopefully that will clear the foggy patch.

Rest of the build looks stunning BTW.

Progress Update

The MS406 is complete.

OK so where are the pictures? you're asking.

Me thinks my missus has gone away for the weekend and taken the camera with her!

At this rate I'll post some on Monday night!

Karl - no worries! At least you didn't try to use the worn out "my batteries need to charge" excuse! (glancing at Jules) Wink [;)]

Jules - why no! I wasn't try to imply anything! Clown [:o)]

Darren - I second and third Karls' suggestion... a small flat brush and carefully apply the future to the pane. I had that happen on I forget which AC I was doing and while not totally removing the fog it reduced it to where nobody but me noticed it...
