                        OK I did some detail painting on the cockpit, and added some more PE. I hope to finish the cockpit and close the top and bottom fuselage halves tomorrow. But there is some spray work and additional PE work required first.

                        Same theing here, I have hardly had the time to look at my kit in far too long. All that I have left to do is paint and add the underwing hard points, the wheels and the black around the cockpit. Then the decals and she'll be ready to roll out!!

                        Hi Everyone,
                        Here's some status photos of my Mig 15. I need new glassware, so I'm waiting on Dragoncare to send me a new canopy sprue. Hence, it's not really progressing at the moment. I've detailed up th cockpit, although the bang seat isn't finished yet, ans done some work to the interior to improve the see through look that it had.

                        1/72 actually. Cockpits are typically spartan - pretty much what you'd expect of Hasegawa. But MiG canopies being what they are (ie small and relatively hard to see out of - or in to) I figured the lack of detail in there would be pretty hard to notice...

                        Ha! To prove that yes, I actually AM a modeller and yes, I actually DO intend to participate in the build, here's the first couple days worth of work on my Floggers.


                        The paint I had ordered (nearest local hobby shop is an hour away) arrived while I was on a work trip, so I was able to start this weekend. Painted the cockpits, assembled the fuselage halves and mated the rear fuselages to the front sections. Have some seams to clean up still.

                        For the record, the MiG-23 is on the left and the -27 is on the right.

                        Well i've actually made a small amount of progress, not much just made up some templates so i can rescribe the panel lines at the wingroot but it is progress, i thought this build was going to be a quick one but thanks to a terrible parts fit i find myself spending hours on filling sanding and rescribing..............

                        Can I join, I'm building a Dragon Mig 15, in Soviet markings and camo from the Korean era.
                        It's a tougher build than I expected actually.

                        Yeah Tanky i'm still trying to wrestle this Academy I-16 into shape, lots of glue to hold it together and lots of filler to hide the very crappy fit.......

                        I'm still waiting on my paint to arrive (silly me, the first time I ordered, I was below the minimum order! So I had to order some CA - which I needed anyway, to have enough for GM to ship it - doh!).

                        My Floggers will be underway while I'm working on a 1/48 Prowler, but the good news is that the Prowler involves so much correcting/modifying that the Hasegawa MiGs will be my "easy" builds (I usually have at least one out of the box build going at the same time as a big project - just to give myself something to keep me from going nuts).

                        I finally finished (almost) my La-7. It still needs some exhaust weathering but wont get that for a couple of weeks since I'm headed out of town. Painted as Sultan Amet Khan's mount. I've had lots of fun with this GB, and its fun to see everyone else's progress.

                        This is certainly not near the quality of other submissions in this build...please bear with me...

                        Hobbycraft 1/72 MiG15. Watch out for this kit, this fit is absolutely horrid! This is the first NMF I have tried in about 12 years. Model Master Aluminum (sp?). The neat thing is it gave me a chance to use my new Micromesh polishing kit. Well worth the money I spent. The canopy was rough and I did not want to push it and lose it to my hamfistedness. The kit was for the "International" MiG. I used some decals from my spares box and the kit itself. I had fun and appreciate the opportunity to post it with all of the quality work I have seen so far.

                        UPDATE:

                        My MiG-25 has been stripped and repainted, and I'm getting down to darkening some panels on the wings and fuselage. Still dont have a replacement for the canopy but I'll try to come up with something.

                        I think I may have too much contrast in my greys here......Oops [oops]

                        Great looking Mig-29, I never realized that the outer hardpoints could hold two of the smaller missles, is that a common loadout?

                        Well, I could post a picture of me waiting for the mailman to bring my paint and Lindenhill decals, or I could post an in progress picture of the 1/48 Prowler I've started in the meantime (for the ARC Intruder/Prowler GB) - but so far as I know no Prowler has ever had a red star on it Tongue [:P]
